MOA Companions have been strolling into our hearts since the day we attached their Gyros to their Brackets. We’ve seen them walk, run, stomp, bow, shiver, and dance. Now we want you to choose the next MOA Companion action! Share with us a MOA Companion animation you would like to see in Warframe and you could see it added in-game!

How to enter:

In this thread, submit a description of a MOA Companion animation that you would like to see in Warframe!

  • Animation idea must not interact with anyone or anything else (ex. no handshakes)
  • Animation idea must be contained to a small space around the starting position. (ex. no flying high in the air)
  • Animation idea must not break the rig (ex. no detaching limbs)
  • The end of the animation must be able to return to the starting pose
  • Artwork and videos must be original and not taken from other sources
  • The proposed action must not be copyrighted

Selecting the Winning Animation Design:

Call for submissions will close on March 14, 2019 at 1:00pm ET.

Elyse Gymer, Animator at Digital Extremes, will choose the Top 5 submissions. You can see some of Elyse Gymer’s MOA animations below!

The Design Council will then determine the winning MOA animation by voting on the Top 5 submissions selected by Elyse Gymer. Design Council voting will begin on March 15, 2019 at 1:00pm ET and run until March 21 at 1:00pm ET.

The winning design will be interpreted by our artists who will make tweaks as needed to ensure that the overall design remains true to the Warframe style.

The completed MOA animation will then be put into Warframe!

Break dancing

e.g. going from a small jump, to landing on its core/upsidedown and spinning for 1-2 seconds before flipping itself back onto its feet in one more jump.

For Reference see the Systematic Shred combo from the Final Harbinger Stance

Video for direct reference:

Balancing on one leg, stretching the other into the air and doing cartwheels in a circle returning to the place where it started!
Maybe as an idle animation or an animation that triggers when the player starts dancing and he cartwheels around the player?

A brief servo malfunction where the limbs fail to move properly, causing some sparks to fly off of the joints. The Moa staggers for a moment before regaining its balance, looking down at its limbs to see if everything is okay, and then back to neutral animation.

Timing clarifications: 0-1500ms is the malfunction stage, 1500-2700ms is the stumble stage, 2700-4000ms is the "diagnostic" stage. That leaves 1000ms (1 second) for the Moa to return to idle.

The one i keep seeing in my head goes like this:

Normal Moa idle >
Moa looks down at one of its feet >
Lifts up its foot and examines it >
Shakes it side to side, as if trying to get something off it >
Makes some type of sad or otherwise annoyed sound >
Foot goes back down, looks back up >
Normal Moa Idle
