Freelancer27
What would happened if all Warframe Shields shrank about 66% of their original capacity (dividing shield levelling by half), and are given a Shield Mitigation system? Shield Mitigation is commonly known as reactive protection shielding, increases damage resistance when a number of damage point is enough to resist further damage. Like say, Frost with 300 shields took 200 shield damage, 100 shield point is left carrying 40% damage resistance, the reaction of the damage resistance increase resolves from the recent-ness of the damage received, somewhat like a damage resistant curve. Recovering shields up to 250, and not the max shielding of 300, the mitigation shrank a bit to about 30% and it will continue to shrink down to 0% damage resistance over time. Speaking of which, this mechanic revolves around the Shield Mitigation system used by the game Sins of a Solar Empire. Lunarsage
That's...still the same as having X amount of shields? In your case, the Frost would just have an effective total of 367 shields. Unless you plan on wanting mods to increase the DR? Flesh out your idea more and re-propose it.

Trainer772
Or we can just run a 1:1 system like we've been doing for a long time and not overcomplicate things.
Sixty5
I'd like shield gate. Ie half a second of invulnerability when shields drop to 0 Said invulnerability would require shields to be fully recharged before being available again. You will still go down under heavy fire, but small ticks of damage would be avoided.

BrainInvader
It makes little sense to me to have 2 different shield mechanics in 1 game...just have 1 that works as intended? The current shield system works nicely although vitality is a bit useless.(No regen and health tanks are generally far worse)
