An Idea On Retrieving The Charge Attack Back On Melee 2.0

its easy... its easy..... just make a heavy attack set and put it on button "Q" to perform slow but heavy attack set and make the hold 'e' to perform charge attack back... then make the combo be like "E","E","Q" or some sort....

cuz holding button "E" after pressing two or three times "E" is VERY VERY VERY awkward cuz i have to focus on the combat i don't have time to watch and wait for the second or third light attack animation and then suddenly hold "E" and fail then proceed with my life just by spamming normal combo only

*EDIT*:i've changed my quick inventory access button to "b"..

i'd rather Channeling be tossed and have Heavy Attacks take the place.

 

as Channeling is not worth the costs of it, considering Loadouts for Quick Attacks are honestly, not very far behind Channeling Loadouts. spending that much Energy on not that much more Damage... meh.

Channeling is faster to use than Charged Attacks, are uninterruptible (no getting knocked back when you're cocking your sword back for a charged swing) and can be modified with stuff like Life Strike to give utility that Charged Attacks don't. Also, they only give that much more damage because you're adding over your fast normal attacks, not making a slower, special attack.

 

I was an avid Galatine charged attack user back in 1.0, but I honestly don't miss charged attacks given all the crazy awesome I can do with Melee 2.0 now.

 

A simple way to integrate Charged Attacks into Melee 2.0 though: make them a Melee Combo from stances. There are many Melee Combos that already use Hold Melee in their execution, why not have a specialized Melee Combo engaged primarily by Hold Melee. It can work identically to charged attacks: more damage for a slower animation and being interruptible, but instead of the boring one-animation attacks of the old Charged Attack system have it engage a 2-3 hit Combo instead.

there is no need to  remowe chaneling, its good as it is since it adds more choise how to mod.  but charge atacks and combo systems that consist of ligh and heavy atacks would be realy good adition to melee ...  cuz honestly ... i barely see any point of performing combos, its just faster to mach basic  one( exept maybe glaive or some heavy melee weap)  

 

not to mention that all that e timming depends on atack speed as far as i know

i don't want Charge Attacks, i want Heavy Attacks. because Light and Heavy Attacks compliment each other.

My Rage Valkyr says differently. Before Update 13, Hysteria was the only way for the Valkyr to regain health, which really limited what she could do in terms of powers. Now, she's my go to Melee Weapon specialist, since she doesn't run out of Energy that she can use for Life Strike, and Life Strike allows her to get lots of energy without fear of getting killed, unless I get careless in front of a Tech's Supra.

 

Also, Life Strike is incredibly useful as a self-healing measure if you don't have abilities like Rejuvenation, Renewal, Well of Life or Blessing.

 

Channeling is rather useful to me, since you don't really need to activate channeling all the time, just in times when you need that extra attack power. Also, unlike Charge attacks, Channeling increases damage on all melee attacks, including Spin and Leap attacks. They can potentially buff Channeling Mods to have less energy penalty, but otherwise I don't think Channeling is useless, and I'm using it much more than I did Charged Attacks on every weapon.
