Hey guys,

So this idea springed off this thread: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/290205-better-rewards-for-purchasing-platinum/

How about in relation to each platinum bought (not from Prime Access) you get a certain amount of tokens.

These tokens can then be used in the market to buy certain cosmetics exclusive to this token system.

What his avoids:

Pay to win and various other issues

What this does:

Create more incentive to buy more "flat" platinum and even when you get the 50% off you will want to buy more

<|>I know a lot of people who are with a mindset of 75% off or nothing.

Because the cosmetics are exclusive to the token system people are more likely to buy flat platinum especially during sales because of this added bonus that does not actually affect gameplay.

<|>Mind you these should not be super unique cosmetics (such as Kubrow armor being only there)

What do you guys think?

Of course the system suggested is really simple but it can be expanded into something worthwhile as many people of this community (like me) are obsessed with exclusive pretty things! ^^

my confusion comes in when we have Cosmetics for Platinum, and also for Tokens?

say, if i bought a small package of Platinum, i'd be less miffed if i found out i didn't buy enough Platinum to buy a Cosmetic, than to find out i didn't run enough transactions to get the Tokens for a Cosmetic.

by the by, this is also counter intuitive to increasing efficiency on larger purchases. making $5 purchases over and over would presumably be the most efficient way to get Tokens, but Platinum per dollar goes up when you buy larger packages.

these two factors seem to be conflicting each other.

I didn't like the idea of adding a new currency to the game. Platinum is already expensive. If i wanted to buy an item that costs 5 tokens i would have to buy plat 5 times? That makes no sense. I would just buy it with platinum not tokens.

Sorry guys, I meant that the amount of tokens is relative to the amount of platinum purchased.

Not one token or something per purchase (which would be a flat number).

I hope that answered your confusion! :)

No.

It is better that cosmetics cost platinum and only platinum, because that opens it up to Free2Play trade, and the more people who COULD buy things with platinum, the more valuable and desirable it is.  If you feel like you aren't getting your money's worth when you buy platinum, let's address that problem directly instead of punishing non-whales who get their platinum legitimately by participating in the game economy.

It is additional content that in no way will damage the trade. Cosmetics can still be released with platinum, but buying "flat" platinum will just give more incentive especially for when you get a bonus  %off sale.

You are blowing it out of proportion, it is not punishing anybody, it is rewarding some people. Not all cosmetics to be released like this, but a new Syndana here and there, some armor type, profile icons, badges? lots of things to be done with it :/

Exclusive rewards for buying platinum is the same thing as punishing everybody who doesn't belong to "the club" of people who buy platinum. You're denying them access to something. As a supporter of the game you already get rewarded for buying more platinum: the exchange rate gets more favorable as you buy it in larger and larger chunks. What about this seems unfair to you? Is there nothing currently in the platinum store that seems worthwhile or fancy-enough for your taste?  Or do you feel like it's necessary to draw a distinction between people who personally buy platinum versus people who have earned it through trade, at the cost of driving a wedge through the community? These are important questions.

No it is not punishing them because it doesn't offer an advantage.

Doesn't Prime Access and the Founders program already drive that "wedge" you are talking about? Which by the way is harmless for the most part.

All I can see this feature do is encourage people to buy more "flat" platinum as I have said numerous times, especially for those who hang on tight to their money even when faced with 50% off.

Those who earn their platinum through trading can buy other cosmetics, Prime Access cosmetics ->exclusive to those who buy the accessory pack or big bundle.

I would say no to the idea, but instead improve the Market instead to make the prices more reasonable so that players can actually go and want to buy some things from there with Platinum.

Fair enough, the market needs an improvement to be honest. Browsing it for what I want just became really annoying, I'd rather go into my dojo every time to get a blueprint than buy it from the Market :/

No offense, but this is silly. Cosmetics have no effect on actual gameplay, and introducing more currencies would just be confusing and would also seem way more pay to win. This game isn't pay to win, it's pay to look cool and have a huge inventory or pay to speed up crafting, and if you think otherwise, you need to keep playing more. All the cosmetic helmets can be gotten in blueprint form from alerts as well, so you don't have to spend Platinum if you don't want to, you can just wait for an alert for your helmet to come around, and pretty much everything aside from non-helmet cosmetics is craftable, save for mods, but those, like resources, are farmable, and most of the things you can buy from the market with plat that are also craftable are really not hard to craft unless there's a mastery rank restriction or you're really unlucky getting a resource.

I am confused by your post, my suggestion wouldn't make the game pay to win.
