Vallerian
We got pistol, shotgun, spray, and even a 'melee' sentinel, it's probably time we get a sniper sentinel too So here I got some nooblord concept art =P (Picture taken with potato) Aesthetics explained: Basically it's a big rifle with a sentinel built around it. At the midsection of the rifle, it rests on a large pivot which houses the scope and adjusts the Y-axis of the rifle's aim. The X-axis is controlled by the rotation of the Sentinel. It's a bull-pup style rifle, the round loads in at the rear, and upon discharge the chamber at the rear expands to absorb the recoil (articulated plates poorly depicted). Upon reload, the rear section pulls back to eject the spent round, then through the magic of game-logic, the slide returns to original position and the rifle is ready to fire again. Concept Explained: Almost every sentinel's damage becomes insignificant late game, except maybe the Striker. This makes sense because if Sentinel did a ton of damage then there'd be a whole lot of AFK farming and whatnot. The power of almost every current sentinel comes from its utility which supports players in the CC or defense department, there are not really any sentinels that are designed to aid the player's damage output, except for Dethcube which falls off very hard. The Support Marksman sentinel will instead directly assist the damage output of players, and will focus primarily on taking down very resilient targets (lvl 100 Heavy Gunners and those of the like), but will not be a solo-act DPS powerhouse. Think Banshee, but in Sentinel form. Sentinel Weapon: Depleted Uranium Rifle This weapon should be comparable to the Vectis, but with a very low fire-rate to balance it's DPS. Puncture : 100 Impact : 20 Slash : 20 Magazine : 1 Crit : 2x | 10% Status: 40% Reload : 0.3 rounds / sec Sentinel Abilities: Marksman (firing precept) : -This sentinel will only fire on targets marked by the player (Targets are marked simply by passing the crosshair over the enemy). -This sentinel will prioritize the most important unit marked. Importance is judged by how strong the unit is, the amount of damage that the player has dealt to the target, and how long the player has held his crosshair over the target. This Sentinel can play important roles in long range support for a player with a short-ranged loadout. The player need only target an enemy with his Boar or something, and the Sentinel will fire on the target. -60m Range Crippling Force: -Targets hit by this sentinel will be stunned and have their armor reduced Sure Shot: -This sentinel will have increased crit chance if the player has been standing still for 2 seconds Edited September 3, 2014 by Vallerian

Maybe you would check it out. https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/291643-sentinel-fan-concept-protector/ I've actually already seen and upvoted that haha It's a great concept, I would use it. Alad_VI
The whole crosshair marking thing would be an issue. Say you were in a high level void mission and there was a mob of enemies in a tight corridor. I mean the kind of mob that when you look at it your frames drop to 11 and all you hear are weapons discharging. Now normally, with a weapon like the Lanka, (love it) you could just pick a target and pick it off, with the punch through eating everything else. However it all stems from that first kill. Now if you used this sentinel in a group, it would become neigh impossible to pick a target surrounded by other targets, such as a heavy gunner surrounded by corrupted. Instead, I think that it should follow the waypoint system.
