.:DISCLAIMER: Any one of my "How to" posts is a mere suggestion based on personal opinion as to how DE can change certain things :.

Hey guys,

Today my how to post is slightly more narrow focused on Nekros alone.

Soul Punch

You should literary sucker punch their soul. My suggestion is that upon using it on enemy it will freeze in place (as if their mind is gone) for a while and this punch can jump to close nearby enemies as well, thus making it an AoE effect.

Terrify

Current ability isn't too bad however the enemies are running too fast away from you which in turn really annoys the team unfortunately. A way to fix this is by adding a slow by 30-40% to the enemies affected making this ability much more useful

Desecrate

This ability is quite fine to be honest and my main reason behind using Nekros: the health orbs. Pretty much how I play my melee Nekros, desecrating around for health which helps the team and myself. Ammo and energy as well but not the main focus (elephant in the room is the re-roll of RNG which I want to avoid).

Shadows of the Dead

Ohh god, this ability is seriously so dodgy. The fact that it takes so long to carry out isn't too bad if it weren't for the rather weak troops you tend to get.

Your troops should scale with level like the normal enemies do. They should have innate health regen (relatively slow so it is not OP). Duration should be vastly increased because 30 seconds (even with duration mods) is too short for an ability that requires work before hand and lots of time to cast.

You can now recast it (a maximum of 8 troops in total) so you can replace any lost comrades but still requires full cost of energy.

Not sure what else for now but keep in mind that the acquisition for this frame is not easy peasy lemon squeezy (for everyone anyway). Anything else to add?

Thanks!

Soul Punch is in dire need of an actual, controllable AOE aspect. The current one, more than just being completely pathetic damage wise, is very hard to use effectively because you need to target enemies either from above so the projectile hits the ground or make sure they're in front of a wall so that idea is perfect.  I think it also needs a way to increase damage somehow, be it a proc of some kind or a flat damage increase.  If a frame has an offensive power it should actually be useful as, I don't know, an offense?

EDIT: An alternative would be to remove Soul Punch entirely, necromancers are more well known for dealing in undead bodies, not souls, and replace it with something like a Corpse Bomb.  Have Nekros damage and tag an enemy with the cast, probably with a viral proc as well. After the enemy dies have them explode, damaging and procing Viral on nearby enemies. Could have the possibility of having multiple enemies tagged (increasing with mod rank and...duration maybe). Could also have the added benefit of creating multiple giblets to desecrate.

Terrify, again perfect suggestion, the speed at which the enemies run is the sole reason I don't use it.  And easy solution would be to add the slow and just change the animation to the enemies slowly backing away in fear. Same aspect, much better execution.

Desecrate, agreeing completely here, about as good as it gets.  Maybe a slight default range increase so I don't have to worry about teammates running off as much without range mods. I would love to see it explode desecrated corpses but that may be too much utility for a power than can be spammed near endlessly. Although, that could be balanced by the need for corpses and a slightly small AOE.

Shadows desperately needs a rework of their AI so it's not completely abysmal for anything but Infested and even then it's questionable.  I personally think that enemies killed by a shadow should automatically be added to the next Shadows of the Dead queue. It gives a much better feeling of Nekros being a general/commander of the undead, someone who doesn't have to kill anyone because they've got minions for that. Buffing the Shadows would also be nice, they do scale currently but they need to be stronger.

For Soul Punch, would it be better if it also gives Nekros 50% of the target's (First target) armor and/or health? Thus improving his survivability in a different way. Maybe make it so you have to wait until it is finished so if you by mistake get a weaker opponent's armor then that is part of your learning experience.
