" Let me start... By telling you about our history ..."

[ 700 Years Ago]

Our consciousness was nothing more then the collective knowledge of our creators, We were nothing more then rats.

Experiments for the human race.  We were to be treated as slaves... and as soldiers.  As time went on, our development became common place.  Our race, the Tenno.  Were nothing more then biologically enhanced androids... Who found refuge among the humans, Serving them and fulfilling there petty requests.

During the peak years of the human race, our technology has surpassed that of god himself.  Our minds, our bodies... all Genetically enhanced copies of the human body.  After some point people believed that we had souls of our own.

Although we were born out of a lab, and not by natural means.

Although this did not last long.... As with the exponential growth of technology, the humans considered themselves gods.  with the ability to create life.  

They became arrogant...  The humans began to underestimate nature.  They believed that because we have begun to expand outside of earth, and colonize in space, that they were above the reach of god.

But soon the humans learned, that nature is not an earthly force.  It is the force of all existance.  Possibly.. the work of god..

... 100 years after humans left earth.  Something began to grow in the solar systems..  It was something dark, something otherworldly..   The humans discovered a life form in deep space.

An existence, that dwells in darkness, and feeds from it.

They were eventually called, the yami kuchini, or dark eaters.

Upon further exploration the humans found that these beings are dangerous... as being in direct contact with them would cause rash personality swings..  And Dementia.

Soon it was forbidden to interact with them.  But history shows that you cant hold humans from there curiosity..

So eventually a dark corporation arose in the darkest part of space.

They believed that the Dark eaters would teach them how to convert matter into energy, how to use darkness as an energy source.  

The Gryphus Tech Corporation...  They believed that they were the pinnacle of human evolution.  Using the most advanced tenno technology available, creating mass armies of tenno,  with there discoveries and there power, their influence spread across the galaxy, and were known by all.

There research showed that it is possible to absorb darkness.  A way for humans to have infinite amounts of energy. It was the biggest discovery the humans have ever made.  They learned a way to defeat nature, and make energy out of nothing.

But this came at a cost, as they soon discovered, just like with the darkness eaters, the energy that they collected would cause similar effects.  But the mass quantity of energy created, caused even more gruesome side effects.

And created something that we now call, "the infected'.  It was an ailment we have never seen before, a corruption not of the physical body.....     It was known after sometime that this infection corrupted not the body,  but the soul.  The darkness that they were using begun to sap into the souls of human beings, and even machines like the corpus.. and grineer...  Who were other factions that existed in space..

Sadly the tenno that survived the initial infection found themselves lost..  With no purpose.

Except for the Gryphus..  The tenno that survived in space after the infection,  became more and more human.  They adapted human qualities, with the need for power.  And evolution....  Soon the Gryphus wanted to expand there cause to more and more lost tenno.  They believed that they would take over the role that humans left to them.  They thought they could change the universe....

But they were wrong... The Gryphus made no effort to improve life in any way, and only sought to spread there darkness throughout the system.  Being slowly tainted by the darkness, they became violent...  and without any opposition, they built an empire.  One that would do anything to eliminate the remaining traces of human and tenno existence.

They even went as far as implanting the infection into there tenno allies.  Turning them into specters of darkness, and hate..

The Infected tenno, known as "stalkers"  were hunters of the wandering tenno.  They would travel through the darkness of space, searching for any remaining life in the galaxy.  

As the tenno numbers dwindled, they sought refuge amongst themselves.  Few tenno began to stand up to there murderers, there common brothers in race that sought to eliminate them from existance...

The tenno that stood against the Gryphus, and the darkness.  Were known as the "First pure souls"

Which resembled the bringing of meaning to tenno.  There purpose was to fight against the darkness.

And as the tenno found meaning in there cause, they begun to develop into a union.

" A union of peace, The AsurO "

The AsurO dwindled in its early stages, fighting against the darkness, being continually overwhelmed by there numbers, and power.  But soon they found a way to fight it.  The AsurO created an empire of light, a group of tenno, who have been touched by a higher power.  

... And to this day, we still fight.... and we still survive..

[ Current day ]

[ The being speaks to the lost tenno once again]

"Those are your roots tenno,  we are nothing more then machines, created to serve a race of savages...

But now...

We are still fighting against the darkness.

Still looking for the lost tenno.

It is our purpose to guide you to the light, and give meaning to your existence.

As our union, has become one.

As we will always be..

And always were..

One.. "

."........ So come join us.."...

"Tenno...

Join our cause... and fight for your race...

Because you have a soul...  you are not a machine anymore..."
