Mazen2013
I use the heat dagger and pointed wind stance. While not in the stance mode I attack 3 times as fast as in the special melee stance. This must be a bug?
Naftal
No, the attack speed using the stance changes depending on what kind of attacking animations the stance has. Quick melee doesn't use any stance.
-FV-Runehawk
I'm afraid it isn't -- such is the nature of the Pointed Wind stance. You're better off with Homing Fang, in my opinion.
APBladeX
Daggers themselves need a massive rework. A dagger should not be slower than a giant great sword or a heavy axe for that matter. Every single dagger we have is slow beyond comprehension. Heat Dagger 0.8 Sheev 0.7 Karyst 0.8 Ceramic Dagger 0.8 Daggers should be fast, not slow. Don't compare dagger attack speeds to any other weapon type attack speeds. Same number with completely different animations don't mean much. Heat Dagger 0.8 Sheev 0.7 Karyst 0.8 Ceramic Dagger 0.8 Daggers should be fast, not slow. Dagger fire rate differs from all other melee fire rates. This applies to every melee weapon type. 1.0 on a greatsword could be slower than 1.0 on a longsword. 0.7 on a dagger is still faster than a fragor, which has a higher listed fire rate. etc. Don't base this stuff off of the listed fire rates. actually testing these out will be 100 times more accurate. and daggers are fast, as long as you aren't using pointed wind. Edit: I'm not saying daggers don't need a little bit of reworking though. They do need a little something to make them more useful. but calling them slower than heavy weapons bothers me, because it couldn't be any farther from the truth. unless you're using pointed wind. but don't use that stance. Naftal
And this is why daggers are slow...Due to this mentality. Keep it up... Have you tried Homing Fang stance? Also, seriously, how do people think you fight with a single dagger? You definitely don't go stabstabstabstabstab...

-FV-Runehawk
You missed the point... How so? OP asked if his lowered attack speed in the Pointed Wind stance was a bug. I answered his question, saying it wasn't a bug.
Yazeth
The attack speed is true. It's the animations for the stances that can alter the attack speed.
VKhaun
Yes, they they are meant to get damage from being fast, but that's not going to translate to 38 step combos giving you carpel tunnel on super lightning fast attack rate. It's going to translate to a medium-slow attack rate, which does multiple hits per attack. Like the melee equivalent of multishot as a damage mod. I think what we're seeing is just the right furax not talking to the left furax. Someone went and made one-hit-per-tap animations and someone else made the dagger stats for multi-hit. There was a thread not long ago where we were told Pointed Wind is being redone. Ten plat says the new Pointed Wind is badass and sets us straight with multiple hits per tap. MechaKnight
Daggers are just unappealing by their short range, low damage, and slow swing speed. I would appreciate it if they would swing faster. Maybe we'd see daggers actually being used outside of mastery leveling.
