Fellow Tenno "Skoom",

My name is NearlyDedicated. I'm as certified as currently possible in polemosomology, or the study of Warframe. I occasionally "finance" searches into the Void for hidden lore, ciphers, and reasoning behind game design. I try to do this every two weeks or so. In each "Community Event" I tell fellow Tenno to divide into cells, and research a topic (i.e. the Tenno language). The first cell to successfully do so wins in-game rewards (PS4 only), although some Tenno find it fun to play along, even if they're on PC/Xbox One.

Below, I will catalog currently funded and previously researched studies. Feel free to read through them; there's actually some lore reveals hidden right under our feet.

BEYOND THE SHORES OF PLUTO (https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/323488-community-event-beyond-the-shores-of-pluto/)

 PAST STUDIES

TECHNOCYTE: A STUDY OF THE INFESTATION (https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/321825-study-technocyte-a-study-of-the-infestation/)

Status: Study concluded with favorable results

Please click the link above; the summary I wrote was too long to be counted as a "summary"; too much information, but very interesting!(:

ANCIENT SHAPES: A LOOK INTO THE WARFRAME POWER GLYPHS (https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/317972-community-event-ancient-shapes-an-open-study-into-warframe-power-glyphs/)

Status: Study concluded with unfavorable results. Open for discussion in this thread only!

The overlay when using powers is nothing more than Circuitry being highlighted. If you look up any image of circuitry, the resemblance is very clear. Not to mention that the markings are all connected, with no clear beginnings or ends, indicating a complete system, not an arrangement of separate parts. Lastly, the markings bear no resemblance to any language the Tenno have utilized, making such a drastically different writing style very unlikely.

THE TENNO LANGUAGE (https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/314515-tenno-language/)

Status: Study Concluded with Favorable Results (9/29/14)

Tenno Language Key (Created by DrJia):

7JNPPKe.png

Above is the Tenno alphabet. It can be used to translate Tenno glyphs in-game. An example is presented below, showcasing Excalibur's arm:

This, along with many other glyphs, can be properly translated, giving hints at lore reveals - most of which pointing to Hayden Tenno, the main character from darksectOr, a game thought to be the prequel to Warframe (although not confirmed). Hayden's name also occurs on Nyx, Loki, and several other tilesets. This includes another reoccurring phrase, being:

"Hayden Tenno, I'm sorry, I owe you one."

THE WORD "EVOLUTION" AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE *HOT TOPIC!* (https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/317520-the-significance-of-evolution-acutally-evolysin/)

Status: Study Open, No Financing Required, Open for Discussion

Teaser:

A while back, I financed an in-game translation of the Tenno language. Since it has been deciphered (here: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/314515-tenno-language/ ), I've gone about deciphering various Tenno glyphs. After a while, I began to notice something: the Tenno / DE have an obsession with the word "Evolution".

THE TENNO WERE CORRUPTED (https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/317022-the-tenno-were-corrupted/)

Status: Open for Debate

Teaser:

If you've been to the Void, you may have noticed that the Corrupted are adorned in white and gold. Why is this? Aren't they just mind-controlled standard troops of various factions? When Nyx uses mind control on an enemy, it doesn't change colors...meaning the process of corruption is more than mind control.

LANGUAGE OF THE ANCIENTS (https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/316655-community-event-language-of-the-ancients/)

These runes can be found on any tiled floor in the void or derelict. Flat floors and other decorative tiles do not feature them. Only the pictured tiles have these runes on them.

msLNumz.jpg

The runes are inactive when a tenno is not nearby. They activate in a perfect circle around a tenno. The circle can cut off runes, depending on the tenno's position. Enemies do not appear to activate them.

There are several distinct runes. They repeat themselves in an even pattern across the entire floor area.

Now, the analysis:

I do not believe these runes are a language. They are not placed in a location where written language would typically be found, and because they only activate around whatever is walking through, they would not be useful as warning signs. In addition, there are too few to form more than a single word, providing they use the written language structure other factions share, they are not placed in any readable order unless they would be read separately, and the same pattern repeats itself continuously.

My best guess as to their function is that they are purely decorative. The Orokin seem quite fond of decorative touches.

FUTURE STUDIES

Status: Currently, the studies "Technocyte", and "Beyond the Shores of Pluto" are open.

Bookmarked too.

Since a lot of things are hidden, I found just fantastic that you and the people who helps you, find this secrets that we normally ignore at first sight, but hide big things that may carry weight in the Lore.

Keep it up with this, i would really like to see more!

We need to go deeper.

Anyways, looking forward to whatever comes next. Though we should really expand "study of the void" to "study of the sol system", because there's no way the void is the only place with secrets.

I think that its the study in the Glyphs that you see when casting a ability, example: Valkyr's Rip Line, Frost's Snow Globe.

Bingo!

The polarity symbols? I've had some opinions on those for a while, this'll be interesting for sure.

Potential study noted! I'll put it in my calendar for a later date, but Vykhram was right about this one.

I only play Ash with the Immortal Skin. All I know is that my butt glows.

Well if you want any secondary input on the Polarity and the ancient Tenno clans they're attached to (as said during one of the Devstreams) feel free to message me over the board.

Actually, something I just thought of...not sure if it would fall under this thread or not, but it seems close enough.

While we're on languages and symbols and the translation of those things, we might want to start translating the text scattered around Grineer and Corpus levels. There's a lot of it, and from what little I've looked at some of it is quite interesting.

This is definitely worth looking at. I've translated a few myself, and recently saw another party had conducted a study on the "Beecloud" - a common reference throughout Corpus scripts.

Feel free to post about these languages here - falls under this thread as far as I'm concerned.

I am very happy that you have centralized all that we have found about the Lore of Warframe so far.

I hope DE sees this and tosses us another bone or two in the coming month.

+1 and subscribed

OH, and the current chart that you have for language translation was made by a Reddit user by the name of StallordD (http://www.reddit.com/user/StallordD)

I don't know his Warframe ID (yet) but ill post it once it comes up.

I'd like to give this Tenno the credit for starting the research we all jumped onto.
