Can We Get A Petition Going To Get De To Sit Down And Relook Every Weapon In Game?

The mastery ranks and power creep of near every weapon n game needs a check

 

Its been put off for too long

 

DE needs to take a step back and look at all of the guns and melee weapons (especially melee) that have been left behind or arent in a proper place

 

Most weapons should have a mastery ranking (Most will not be very high)

 

Primes shouldnt be MR 0-2

 

Some of the new syndicate weapons need to be toned down and some need buffs

 

Various oldies need to be looked at and buffed

 

Various mods need to be buffed or removed entirely

 

Conclave scores for weapons and mods have to be reviewed and revised

 

I dont know how long itll take or why it hasnt been done already but this needs serious attention

There's a whole lot of imbalance and a total lack of variety when it comes to high-level game due to things like powercreep, and other weapons just being complete and utter crap while still looking awesome (im looking at you Silva and Aegis)

 

They did some decent buffs to the guns recently, but I really hope they continue to balance old guns, and not just new ones. Old gun balance is so far spaced out, and usually only when there's a large amount of them being balanced.

Primes need a Mastery Rank lock obviously. And make sure that all primes are actually good. DE recently buff Braton Prime, which is nice. Burston Prime, or burst weapons in general need looking at though. There's something wrong with the way firerate is calculated, giving it a lot lower dps than fully auto weapons.

Fang Prime and Reaper Prime also feels like they need working.

 

Clantech weapons, for their cost and time, need a certain degree of use. Since they require forma and yet don't usually give innate polarities, DE should really look at them. Some take time to get, and yet aren't very powerful.

 

A majority of the melee are too similar. Especially Dark Sword vs. Ether Sword vs. Heat Sword vs. Cronus vs....... Yes, there are even dagger, dual sword, and dual dagger versions of each. Jeeze.

As long as we have infinitely scaling content, there s arguably no way to properly balance everything, but imo, weaker weapons or "lower tier weapons" should have some sort of additional utility (syn augments, for example) as compared to the games top damage dealers to balance out the fact that there's plainly too much of a DPS difference between top tier and low- mid tier weapons for the latter to be relevant in highlevel content

Powercreep is a thing, and denying it is pointless. Unless you're so self-absorbed that you couldn't care less, or you fundamentally don't understand what is is, then you know it's a thing.

As I understand it, power creep is the result of new weapons needing to outshine older ones to be used. Even if they only outshine them by a little bit, over time, as more weapons are added, the older weapons are fully eclipsed. Thus, the power of a player "creeps."

I would love that but I honestly do not believe it would happen, ever. Not with how DE keeps repeating how they must get new content out as fast as possible to keep being successful. 

Very few will spend plat on old weapons so the answer is new weapons and they need to be desireable.

 

 

And after I had the displeasure of spending time in the greedy milk, corpus wannabe trading chat in the weekend I cannot help it, but belive that the obvious unbalance between the syndicate weapons was planned, plat trading and OP weapons must be very good for business.

Agree. There's a lot of weapons that needs another look through or changed. Stuff like Heat Sword/Dagger and Mire needs a full-on change/rework on their designs. Those were the old designs and aren't being used in new weapons anymore.

Definitely up for this if its possible. It's got to a point where it really needs to be addressed and beta is the realm of sweeping changes. As much as it may cause unrest regarding wasted forma and so on but really this kind of thing has to be done in Beta or not and all, and the end result will be worth the hassle.

 

The only real issue here is time, even if we have balance devs focusing entirely on that while the other departments go off doing their own thing this is going to delay new frames or else they get released in a OP/UP mess and more weapons. A big pass would certainly help but the time and energy commitment will also be massive. That said, stuff like the art and sounds of the frame could simply be completed and backlogged pending spare time from the balance devs.

You jump in a defense match with three other Tenno; a Rhino Prime using a Penta, a Saryn using a Phage, and a Nova Prime using Soma Prime. 

 

You are using a Karak. But you'd like to be able to get at least a decent amount kills so that you can boost your Karak from 27 to 30 quickly, which is one of the big drawing factors for endless missions. Try as you might, you're lucky to be able to get even 5 kills per wave, as your teammates are making such quick work of even the more durable enemies. You then resort to using your powers in a desperate attempt to get some kills, but because you are a Banshee even that does not work.

 

Powercreep basically makes the game less fun for less overpowered players. Since I try to find balanced builds instead of acting like every mission is a high wave T4 Defense, I've witnessed this firsthand quite a bit. No matter how much skill you display, if you're not using one of the OP weapons you're simply not going to be able to compete with the guy spamming Penta rounds on the cryopod.

The weapons are badly balanced in their "tier", and the "Tiers" themselves are ... well... non-existent basically.

 

About prime weapons that were bought with Prime Access - I guess it can count as early unlock, so the buyer won't feel scammed.

Infinite content isnt actually infinite

 

Its an illusion made by players who abuse game mechanics to go farther than were actually supposed to

 

This is not possible. Sheer amount of time and work needed to balance every weapon in game is enormous.

Its absolutely possible and the sooner its done the sooner it can be kept in check

 

If nothing else they can ask for player opinion

You realise that DE's weapons balancing team is pretty much Scott ?

 

With his personal circumstances right now, he may not get as much time to do this as we'd like.

Player assitance could help

 

He can review and revise rather than take it all on himself

 

He needs a helper if hes doing it himself as well

 

2 heads working together can get 3-4 times the work of one

this is horrible excluding mastery rank and buffing weak syndicate weapons.

 

just release weapons to fill in the gaps. also, they know which weapons are heing used and formaed 

So balancing useless mods are horrible?

You know those +30% puncture mods? +15% status mods? You want them to stay useless?

 

Most Clantech weapons should still be underpowered? Akstilletos, Venkas, Deras, Supras, Spectras, Ignis', Grinloks....... You okay with that? Considering they require 4 days including crafting time and a forma? Considering how they require more than market weapons?
