Insufficient Video Memory

I've been getting this crash from time to time recently. Every 2-3 days I'd say, which isn't a huge deal on its own. But here's the problem: it's happening at medium settings on a GTX 980. I used to be able to run this game at high settings with a 1GB 560Ti, now I have to play on medium with a 4GB 980 and it still crashes. Which as you can hopefully see, is silly.

Wondering If anybody else is having this problem or knows a fix.

Specs

i5 2500k @3.5ghz

8gb RAM

4GB GTX 980

Found this in the EE file, possibly related?:

3.792 Sys [info]: Successfully allocated 512MB for CUDA GPU, CUDA memory limit set to 512MB

I just had a similar crash that actually forced my video card drivers to restore itself. (Kernel Crash)

I think you might be getting the same thing as me. Seeing how AMD cards recently also started having issues...something might be a little amiss with the WF client.

I wouldn't worry too much about your system right now...client is a bit messy, it seems :p

I was getting this same issue all the time until the last update, now I haven't gotten it at all.

That said, I had just installed a 970 so I figured that was a problem given what people discovered about its memory allocation. Still seemed weird though and I wasn't getting it on anything else.
