Silva And Aegis Requires Stamina To Block?!?!?!

It actually requires more stamina to block than most other melee weapons. DE logic.

They recently changed it so that it requires very little stamina to block. I don't know when, but a clan mate told me and I tested it to be sure. That seems to be the case. It could still use a small buff, but it is much better than before

shouldn't it use zero stamina since its not really moving?

I think it should use some. Holding a shield up and having it get hit tires you out. I think it should have a shield bash option though, or that (correct me if I am wrong, I heard that damage does scale into stamina consumed for blocking) the scaling shouldn't exist for the silva and aegis. Maybe give the silva and aegis regeneration when blocking. No matter what, it needs something to help it out

Considering stamina consumption is based on the amount of damage blocked/parried, only full melee+stamina builds can withstand more than a few shots at "high" levels (not talking endless crap, no, even "regular" missions show the limits of melee parrying surpisingly early) without running out of juice, but the investment isn't worth it in the end, too demanding and restrictive, so...

And yes, DE logic at work. Best logic. Or lack thereof... Luckily they are working on something with the stamina "overhaul", they mentioned it last devstream. So it's wait and see for now unfortunately.

but the damage is horrid so shouldnt it be there to balance it?

Tested.

Platform: Trinity, no stamina mods, no stamina regeneration mods

Enemy: Fusion MOA level 15

BO PRIME

Blocked for 6 seconds

AEGIS

Blocked for 20+ seconds

AEGIS WITH WARIOR GRIP

Blocked for 30+ seconds

Tried an (arid) heavy gunner as well.  At level 20, it didn't seem to make a difference whether I used warrior grip or not, it was ~8.5 seconds either way.  Very strange. Never used this mod before, I should learn more.

Any melee weapon + reflex guard = infini-block

Well, yes. If you seriously want to use swordalone higher than level lulz, reflex guard is what you need. Pair it with a melee weapon that can actually do some good damage.
