You don't have a level 30 Vauban yet?

Nope, i chose to wait and get him from Alerts because thats way more awesome and he's not worth 300 plat imho...besides...any idiot can buy him for plat ;)

 

 

 

There were two? I missed both alerts then...

Nope just one Alert so far. What i meant was "2 out of 3 BP Parts of Vauban share Artefact rarity within the '?' Alert RNG pool" (the last Helmet rarity).

When the outcry over Vauban blueprints being "?" Alerts-only, we were assured by the devs that they would be as common as Artifact alerts.

 

Well, they're NOT common as artifacts. We WANT to believe they are, but they aren't.

Alert system is fine... YOU on the other hand are really annoying.

 

Spamming your opinion in every Thread with slightly the same Topic is the same "forcefull whining" which intent it is.. not to change stuff that's wrong, broken or flawed but change things one player or a small group can't accept, understand or live with. Last examples: Braton Buff, Rhino Nerf. That's pathetic.

 

I love Alerts.. i just don't love DE's way of setting dropchances in their RNG system, Alerts or normal Drops alike (Thunderbolt dropchance is broken).

Looked up alert rewards and fixed the math appropriately

 

They probably are equal odds...

 

Alert Rewards

(4) Cosmetic Weapon-Skin Blueprints
(13) Alternate Helmet Blueprints
Ceramic Dagger Blueprint
Dark Dagger Blueprint
Heat Dagger Blueprint
Dark Sword Blueprint
Heat Sword Blueprint
Jaw Sword Blueprint
Pangolin Sword Blueprint
Plasma Sword Blueprint
Glaive Blueprint
Orokin Catalyst Blueprint
Orokin Reactor Blueprint
(10) Artifacts
(3) Vauban Components Blueprints
 
That's 41 total items.

So the odds of getting the exact item you want are 1 in 41, or 2.4%

 
But because there are 10 artifacts, if you clump them together you have 24% chance of getting an artifact.

 

If you clump the Vauban bps together you have a 7% chance of getting one.

 

So what most players are doing is looking at the 24% and 7% and deciding that the odds are not equal.

 

When in reality you have exactly the same chance of getting a specific reward - 2.4%.

That is also a 24% chance of getting an item that is rather useless after you've found it the first time. All other items are Blueprints and can be sold for credits at least.

So yeah, alerts need some work.

Randomness is only fair at infinity. It's entirely possible that alert RNG doesn't spit out a heat dagger for say, the next 4 months. Look at some of the frame helmets. Wasn't it banshee's that hadn't been dropped ever until a few weeks ago? That's one of the problems with it- you have no way to tell if it's actually working properly or not because randomness :L

You can kind of test it. You can speed up the intervals during testing (1 alert per 10 seconds?) and just make sure they all come up eventually. Then lower the interval back to it's default. Of course there may be an issue with the longer interval that doesn't appear during the test, but I digress.

I mean us, as players, can't test it.

 

The developers could just run rng a thousand times per second and get the numbers of what pops up from that pretty easily.

Except that the rng in this game is based off giving items in loot tables a rarity value.  For example, they changed Banshee's blue prints to an uncommon to the uncommon pool for defense rewards/mission rewards for spy/raid/etc.etc.

That was covered on page one. But regardless "devs said the vauban blueprints were same chance as artifacts." So they are in the same loot pool.

They said they'd try and do that.  We've yet to hear if it's actually working like that.  The game has had all sorts of problems with loot tables so it wouldn't surprise me if there is something wrong with how it was done :|

According to this (stats of the alert system so far, from dunvi), artifacts have a 0.09% chance of appearing. If we say that vauban has the same chance of appearing as any individual artifact (0.009% as there are 10 different artifacts), getting all 3 parts doesn't look like a very high chance at all.
