Having a hard time naming your Sentinel?  Aren't sure what to do at social functions?  Curious about Cephalon maintenance?  If you answered yes to any of the following questions then this week's Ask A Cephalon is perfect for you!

Cephalon Cordylon has gathered another round of Tenno curiosities and has provided answers that are approved for viewing. Cordylon would also like to remind Tenno that while you may read the full document here all Tenno that wish to read should do so while not in the field, when navigating coordinates within the Liset, or while operating heavy machinery.

Have a question for Cordylon?  Let us know what's on your mind and we'll be sure to get an answer from the Artificial Intelligence as soon as he's done completing his other tasks.

Sentinels have been the loyal companions of Tenno, Cephalons, and even the Grineer for some time now, but I feel like we know so little about them. We know the origin of Kubrows but what of Sentinels, are they simply mindless drones manufactured for a singular purpose or do they have a sense of self-awareness? Sentience? Maybe even aspirations? Are they bio-mechanical entities or do they only appear that way? And if they are bio-mechanical, what species (if any) do they're biological components derive from? Do all Sentinels derive from Orokin technology, or do they have different origins?

Also, Sentinels, Sentients, is there any kind of correlation or is the similarity in names merely coincidental?

Is Solar Rail travel sub-luminal, or faster than light travel? Does it warp space, or create a subspace dimension?

Are Solar Rails only aimed at one destination? Can they be reassigned a destination?

What is the range of a Solar Rail? Most seem to connect sectors within a planetary system, but then there must be the ones that connect each plantary system.

of the information gathered from Tyl regor's sealabs for Alad V to cure him of his infestation, can any of it be used by us tenno to create a sort of "Manic Kubrow"  that would experience far less genetic degradation while still being stronger, faster, and more determined than average kubrows? maybe even adjust the kubrows to be more feline in nature?

Why are the Steel Meridian allied with Red Veil of all people? The former seem like much more honorable people than the latter. Is it an alliance of convenience, or is there something darker behind the Meridian agenda?

Q: What are those "plants" we see in the void? and why are they white and become colored when taken by the infested?

I can't remember if it was Steve who said this, but those plants are decorations the Orokin put there. Apparently the Infestation doesn't like white trees and turns them back into normal trees.

How do Corrupted soldiers acquire such, uh, unconventional weapons?  Crewmen have Struns that operate like Detrons, lancers have Deras, bombards have glowing missiles, some classes of enemy don't have altered weapons at all...

I am not Cordylon, but I think that is because Steel Meridian defends people, while Red Veil destroys evil. Red Veil wants to purge the system from all the evil, not to purge it from everyone. In other words, Steel Meridian defend the innocent while Red Veil does the dirty work.

Why do Warframes like Saryn, Ember and Volt take proc damage of Poison, Fire, and Electricity when all their abilities are focused around these elements, respectively.

Why do all Warframes shields get halved/reduced in a mission type that has cold environment, and shouldn't Frost be immune to this effect bcs of all are his abilities are cold/ice based so why does the cold environment affect his shields???

I've noticed in your last round of answering questions Cordylon that there were some small grammar and spelling errors. Are you 100% sure you're working as effectively as you claim or are you in need of whatever the cephalon equivalent of defragmentation of drives is? or are we perhaps losing some parts 'in translation'?

I have a few questions about personal shielding!

How do Corpus and our own shields work?

To add to that, are they bodytight forcefields, or are they a bubble around you kind of thing?

How do personal shields interact with the world? If we, say, want to have a cup of space noodles, how does that work?
