T3 Defence Very Slow Spawns

In this very moment I'm playing a T3 defence.

 

Since wave 17, enemies spawns has gone downhill, with less and less enemies spawning not only at the same time.

 

Right now we have been at wave 20 for like 25 mins, with a spawn rate of about 5 people every 4 mins. Also We have stopped using our powers at all and I've checked every corned even with the scanner, but it's no use. There are whole minutes where the map is totally empty.

From extensive T3D runs I can say this: It seems only some random seeds are broken in this way. Others are just fine.

 

Unfortunately, RNG seems to be bugged, getting stuck on specific seeds, so if your runs all suck, you should try a different host/keyhost.

 

I thought the same thing, yet it's a kind of subtle bug. Until half of wave 17 everything was going normally, then steadily getting worse to the point I abandoned at wave 20, since they completely stopped spawning. I don't know if my leaving fixed anything (I was not the host).

 

Maybe it's linked to some powers? I was a Nova but never used MP, since it was planned for later use. Others were Frost, Excal and Trinity, but I don't see how they could have affected spawns...

Nope. It's the RNG seed. We've been testing this all week. It affects reward patterns, but it also seems to muck with spawns. Your host (or key host; not sure which) has a bad seed. At least, that's to the best of my knowledge. I doubt it's possible for abilities like that to screw with the spawning.

 

You are right in that it is a subtle bug, though. So much so that most people don't realize it exists or can exist - it just looks like RNG being RNG for the most part.

I don't know how long it's been ongoing. But it's definitely a serious issue and one that's been around for some time - the first instance was several updates ago, where it was fixed, but at some point in a recent update the old bug appears to have resurfaced.

 

DE will probably catch it and fix it, but the time for a serious bug report thread is not "the day before U17 hits" by any reasonable standard - if it's still here in U17 and the subsequent hotfixes, the thread will go up next week. It is a cause for concern, but for now, avoid missions you've been having very bad streaks in for a few days and come back.
