Its cool that there is single player + multiplay in a 3rd person fps, and being able to obtain these items in a dungeon crawler esque game. But about reaching an end to the story, what is there? Sure game is about collecting items and defeating bosses but it seems useless, comparirng to all these other games IE: diablo 3 torchlight 2 and bl2 this game has crazy proteinal. NO point in gearing up if you cant use them against friends and others in pvp, GUYS think like league of legends.!!!!

Yeah, this medium budget, non AAA title doesnt have as much content and depth in beta as Diablo 3 and Borderlands 2 do 6 months to a year after release.

The game is doomed we need to switch genres to stay alive.

Because a MOBA and a dungeon crawler are one at the same, right?

On a more serious note, jumping on the "hype wagon" is your own fault, the game was never marketed as a "PvP" game but a co-op shooter. Inform yourself better next time. And while the talk about content in Diablo 3 (which is a bad game beyond redemption), Torchlight 2 and Borderlands 2 (which in your case is self-defeating example considering its PvP), Solvite beat me to the point + the fact that we are talking about a CB here, not a released game.

And why is all this talk about PvE and PvP across countless number of topics on the forum. The fact that people bring this question to the table is baffling, not to mention that this type of "segregation" was neither present nor called for back in the days (nor there was a need to imply that any online game should have it for that matter), it was only with the rise of the MMOs to a culture of their own that we ended up *battling* this kind of bs.

Pro Tip: Warframe is not an MMO either.

Nevermind the fact that this game is still in closed beta with a lot of placeholders, but the idea that a game absolutely requires PvP as an endgame is a little ridiculous. Borderlands is a perfect example of a single player and co-op game that has no competitive PvP, yet succeeds widely. Gameplay being fun is priority, not K/D ratio or other silly statistics.

This definitely isnt a "dungeon crawler".

Thats the real issue here. This is a co-op shooter.

Ever since the MMORPG craze that occured in 2004, every game apparently needs "rare items" to be fun apparently. The fun of Warframe is knowing that you completed the mission.

It is currently CBT, EARLY CBT, so I'm assuming they would rather have us test the game than have us grinding a hardcore endgame.

Way to compare this game to top genres, and which at the same time has nothing to do with this type of game at all. Get out. Now.

We're in closed, stop whining like a little betch

I made the following post in the Design Council in regards to PvP, so I'll share it with you folks. It was slightly edited to make more sense without the context of the original post it was replying to.

Here's a list why PvP won't work:

1) Abilities and weapons are not balanced yet

2) Abilities and weapons are being balanced around PvE. PvP would require a completely different mindset when it comes to balance.

3) Dedicating resources to making PvP code, QA, and balance would detract from the core game.

4) With the current net code whoever is the host would have an unfair advantage, as lag is pretty common. In PvE this isn't that big of a deal, but it would have a significant impact on PvP.

5) Asking for PvP right now (as was implied in your post) would mean delaying the addition of other essential features, such as replacing placeholder material (like the tutorial and rank-up tests) and adding more environments/weapons/mission to help keep the game feeling fresh.

6) Forced PvP does not make a game better.

PvP is not an impossibility for Warframe, but asking for them to implement it this early in the closed beta is ridiculous. In my opinion the devs shouldn't even think about PvP until the core game, the PvE aspect of the game, is perfectly polished and ready for launch.

There's nothing wrong with wanting PvP in this game, but there's plenty wrong with wanting it right now.
