Ixhaton
I really do..I like the design alot,It's mechanics too, now you can zoom and use altfire at the same time.I also like it's effects, the nasty sound of a saw and the trails when it fires and ricochets..However.. It does not feel like an upgrade over the Miter - and I did not like the Miter. The Panthera as a whole could use some love.More damage perhaps?Secondary fire could use a bit more range.Less ammo consumption on primary fire? yes please!Maybe even a bit of crit chance?I really want to wield this original weapon.Thank you. ~ on behalf of all the secret and not-so-secret fans of the Panthera. Vance.Stubbs
It is ridicilous how shot-range saw attack has less DPS than most of mid/high-tier hitscan automatic weapons. DE balance at finest. Edited August 30, 2015 by Vance.Stubbs

Paradoxbomb
Bumping up the fire rate to 3.0-4.0 would be a nice buff to both the Primary and Secondary fire, as well as changing the ammo consumption ratio on the Primary fire to 1:1 and possibly even making it full-auto. Vance.Stubbs
You clearly don't know what you're talking about. Unless they changed it (which I doubt), mine Panthera with potato was barely ticking enemies in T3.
MechaTails
Do enemies still dodge the sawblades by dancing around them? I couldn't hit jack with Panthera, every enemy would take a step to the left and render it completely useless rofl Edited August 30, 2015 by DarkTails
Ixhaton
So, logging in again to see if my topic fares well and maybe in the meantime this weapon has gotten some love from DE - or not.. :)Some enemies indeed do dodge the blades, which is annoying. However the good part is that the altfire is highly ammo efficient, so I tend to use that more then primary fire.It would be a significant plus if they brought the primary fire ammo consumption to a max of 2 ammo per shot or so.I think 1:1 is too much to ask for, because yeah, everyone does the Boltor Prime and Soma Prime..but we can only hope. After all; this is a mission to get some of the more original weapons in Warframe in the top roster.Full-auto would be very cool to have, but with a speed trigger mod you can already spam this thing quite hard. RHuckebein
Unless they changed it (which I doubt), mine Panthera with potato was barely ticking enemies in T3. Hi I have a 6-Forma Panthera. My clan took a bunch of pantheras into Lephantis and killed all of his forms before he attacked. My panthera kills bombards within 3-4 ticks in T4. The secondary fire on the panthera is only okay in DPS, but it's still more than 4 times the boltor prime's damage/ammo. If you use Volt, it was almost OP back when it was bugged to not use ammo and it's still pretty good even though it feels like the damage has also been nerfed in some recent patch. Letting sinister reach on it would be fine I guess, but I still wouldn't use it since I'd rather just have the damage. The primary fire needs to be reworked entirely, however. It's worse than the Braton in every way. Lower DPS, Travel Time, poor mod interactions due to being a perfect-accuracy launcher. My personal suggestion is that the panthera fires a projectile that, like the kulstar, explodes into several additional projectiles when it impacts a target. Unlike the minibombs from the kulstar, the projectiles would be weaker mini-sawblades that would automatically attempt to target nearby enemies and fly at them in a straight line (trying to target as many as possible before targeting the same enemy with multiple projectiles). Punchthrough would apply to the miniblades, but not the main 'package' blade. That way the primary fire would be usable for crowd control, while the secondary fire would be an ammo-efficient but relatively high-risk way to take down heavy targets. Also it would make more sense with the primary fire being ridiculous and using 5 ammo/shot.
climatiseur
I'd like DE to reduce its ammo consumption on primary fire and increase the number of bounces of it.
Ixhaton
Hi I have a 6-Forma Panthera. My clan took a bunch of pantheras into Lephantis and killed all of his forms before he attacked. My panthera kills bombards within 3-4 ticks in T4. ~snip ~ This is exactly the point. The Panthera can perform...... but it needs a boatload of Forma to do it. And it still is not even an upgrade to the Miter. - which I think, is for the most part the problem with the Panthera. I currently have a 3 forma build planned - one excluding Heavy Caliber because I simply do not have that mod. It is a combination of: - H3adshot's maxed out Panthera build ( )- Skirmish' 7 forma Panthera build ( )Why a combination? Well.. the difference is that H3adshot's Panthera has primary fire damage but lacks in secondary fire dps. Skirmish however, has secondary fire dps but lacks in primary fire. The difference is caused by having (or not having) fire rate and Fanged Fusilade equipped. So therefore my build incorporates both. Thus: Serration - Split Chamber - Speed Trigger - Fanged Fusilade Stormbringer - Hellfire - Infected Clip - Cryo Rounds. (Radiation/Viral - can be swapped out for anything) If needed, either Hellfire or Cryo Rounds can be swapped out with a Heavy Caliber, giving it Corrosive+Cold/Heat or any combo needed. More Forma can later be added if I need to - and it looks like it needs another 2 atleast. --------------------------------------------------- Anyhow, I got sidetracked a bit. The problems with this weapon is a lackluster primary fire - that consumes way too much ammo and it not being an upgrade to the Miter. And thus, to perform on a reasonable level, it needs (imho) way too much forma. I see Sinister Reach not as a real solution to it's problem, because that would take in a decent build another much needed Elemental mod slot. As you can see in both builds above. Innate punchthrough and more bounces, that would be a nice feature though! :) Edited August 31, 2015 by Ixhaton

You took a pure slash weapon to attack Alloy Armor, Ferrite Armor and Shield enemies? Not a wise choice. Also like other people said, with 6 forma, Panthera tears through anything and everything T3 and T4 throw at you.
