Opening Navigation Freeze Unbearable Post 17.5 (And Options Menu Too)

Now, this same issue has come up a few times -- when one opens the navigation console or accepts an invitation to join a squad after logging in or completing a mission, it freezes the computer for a duration (sounds from outside Warframe still play, but you can't tab out, move your cursor, etc).

It's been bad before, averaging from 30 seconds to 2 minutes of freezing between players -- after EACH time you return to the liset. This is only when your squad settings are NOT on SOLO. Solo, there is no freezing. It's my assumption that this is due to the forming of a squad.

Now, the freeze is up to over 4 and a half minutes for me. Reminder, this is for EACH time I open the navigation after completing a mission or logging in.

EDIT: Next time I opened the navigation console, it took the usual 1 minute freezing instead.

A similar freeze occurs when the Options menu is opened. I managed to listen up to the 10:05 mark of the song Forget Not by Ne Obliviscaris from simply opening the options menu, switchting to not show enemy health above their head, and then opening the navigation console. It took me 10 minutes to do that, and I couldn't use my computer in that time.

How can we help you figure out this issue? It makes the game unbearable to play except solo.

I also got the same issue but for me it freezes for a max of 4 minutes but it happens with every menu opened be it inventory options navigation also joining a squad toggles it.And i don't believe it has to do with my hardware since the game runs mostly in 60fps

(Solved for me)

So I was having this issue as well for a long time. Every time I tried to open navigation with matchmaking set to public the game would freeze and unable to recover. Had to reset every time. Other times it would crash when I was accepting an invite though not as often.

Finally I checked C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Warframe\EE.txt after a crash and noticed that the last line generated before crashing was related to the client switching audio output for Voip. I turned off in game voice chat and have not had the issue reappear since, even if I am in public matchmaking.

If you really want voice chat though, double check your 'Select Voice Output Device' setting. Mine was not set to default so that may have been why it needed to switch, hence the crash. I haven't bothered testing though cause I use TS instead of in game chat.
