Check cables to make sure nothing is loose, make sure your GPU is fine it could be either the hardware or the driver, google around and make sure there are no odd settings that got turned on especially if this is not a desktop machine, and lastly I heard some people mentioning a "black screen" issue, check into that to see if it is similar to problems you are having.

Well two possible scenarios here.

If it is a desktop: Your monitor is near the end of its life, or otherwise has additional unneeded functions that are getting in the way. Older monitors, or not so great ones will essentially overheat, or are generally unable to consistently process signals via modern DVI or other connections and eventually fail to provide an image.

If it is a laptop: It could be any number  of things, as if it were to beep, it is some sort of power saving business or whatever BS laptops do these days. Generally it requires a bit more looking into and checking out what else is happening at the time (i.e. not properly plugged in and therefore not receiving enough power for gaming).
