Do Something About Glaxion

I've been going through clan tech and a lot of the weapons are pretty bad. Even among a bunch of bad and awkward to use weapons the Glaxion really stands out as one of the worst.

It only has an 18m range, but while moving it can be incredibly difficult to hit things that aren't right in front of your face. The beam actually can't be aimed. I put on sinister reach to give it a little more exaggeration and it turns out that the beam starts in the center but then moves off in a random direction for 100-150 rounds before resetting in the center and getting randomized again. And I just don't understand why you would do something like that. Maybe having a wild uncontrolled beam would be neat if you had a wild gun on your hands but its not even close.

This isn't going to be super fair because it's an event weapon, but the quanta vandal is pretty similar so far as a high-status beam weapon. The quanta has two incredibly stable beams that let you snipe enemies no matter how far away, shoots 20x more slowly so it never runs out of ammo, and its base damage is over 18x higher than the glaxion. Serration and elemental damage mods are only going to increase the gap and make glaxion seem even worse.

Another comparison could be the Nukor, a grineer side-arm. It eats up ammo fairly quickly, but doesn't have the crazy inflated numbers that make the glaxion impossible to refill. It does the same amount of damage but deals it through pure radiation damage, which is incredible against bosses, grineer, and disables enemies from using their passive abilities. The only way its worse than the glaxion is its status chance and it's still going to start spreading debuffs within 2 ticks of damage. Nukor even has a better graphical effect turning enemies into bobbleheads and killing them with the molecular prime explosion.

Something needs to be done because it's really not in a good place.

Emphasis on this part. The glaxion is not an event weapon. It only has an event-only skin. Also note that glaxion slows down enemies it hits, so it has its own redeeming factors.

Either way, glaxion is !, like the other clantech weapons out there (flux rifle, spectra, to name some). Clan Tech weapons STILL need a balance pass.

well i agree.. but you forgot the mention one thing

the status chance .. and from testing this weapon its one of the best . i know some shotgun and other weapon have more base status but because it fire a loot of bullet and its continuous gun it do a lot more proc

t

his weapon need love again i agree

if the damage was x2 or even x2.5 it was ok and good to use.

note: dont forget that the weapon stand out was the nice freeze/cold thing proc]

I don't even use mine as a weapon. I just mod it for radiation/cold, fire rate, status chance, and status duration. Carry it on my Volt as a hold out.

Things get rough or the team needs a minute, switch to it, sweep across the horde of enemies, wait a few seconds, and suddenly they're all at each others' throats. Doing no real damage to each other but not shooting at us. It's very situational, but an extra tool for a Volt.

Considering its' accuracy is so terrible, a straight damage buff would be lovely.

I'm quite sure the terrible accuracy is a bug, as it was fine up until a few months ago, when the beam apparently succumbed to spontaneous and extreme inebriation.

I had to read the sentence three or four times, but he was talking about the Quanta Vandal being an event weapon and therefore unfair to compare to the Glaxion.
