How To Make Channel Blocking Not Terrible. [Drain At A Fixed Rate]

Right-o then, blocking bullets.

Well, you block them, but in the end you still take damage anyway. Don't even get to avoid the proc.

But have no fear, for channeling is here.

Except two seconds later the dakka becomes to much and you run out of energy.

So how do we fix this?

Well, I cometh hither with the solution.

So, Exalted blade, yeah?

It has a continuous drain rate, and it's very sustainable.

The idea is:

After you block your first bullet, continuous drain begins, unaffected by the actual amount of bullets you block.

Not blocking bullets? Wait one second and the drain stops.

Channeling efficiency lowers the drain rate, of course.

Do you agree with this? What am I saying, it's 90% certain you agree with this already.

So, leave a comment to make sure DE notices this.

ISn't blocking supposed to block only a portion of the damage?

Channeling while blocking is 100% damage reduction. But nobody uses it because you run out of energy literally second later because energy drain per bullet is the same as energy drain per melee hit.

Which basically means 5 energy per bullet.

You can't block an entire grakata magazine with 5 energy per bullet. And the average mission has an enemy count comparable to Dynasty Warrior games.

What you're thinking of is regular blocking.

Maybe channel blocking is designed for more high damage things eg. Bombard Rockets or Ballista shots

Snipers have low enough Health and Armor that it's a lot more effective to just close the distance to them by dodging.

Bombards are usually accompanied by lancers, troopers, scorches and occasionally, more bombards. You'll get stun-locked into taking proc damage, and then run out of energy.

And if it's a single bombard, it's easier and more efficient to tank or dodge the rockets to come into melee range.

These two instances where channeling is mildly useful are not enough justification to say that it shouldn't change.
