Please Fix Quick Thrown Melee

im sure this is low on the list of fixes but please remove the melee equipped animation and charge to quick melee thrown melee

 

it essentially destroys a specific playstyle, quick thrown melee comboed with guns 

 

atm majority other melee weapons only charge attack when equipped 

atm  thrown melee break this precedent and have to suffer the drawn out animation of an equipped charged throw when only suppose to be performing a quick throw

 

being able to use this classic playstyle again soon would be appreciated thanks

This 100%. I was in much dismay when I realized my glaive throws were the speed of a tortoise. I have no desire for my character to meaninglessly swing at the air and then do a 3 second wind up. That's 4 seconds of animation to do a simple task that should only take 0.25 seconds at most.

I thought i just forgot how to do it at first (been on a bit of a break from the game), as i couldn't for the life of me get it to throw glaive prime. So it's not that it doesn't work, it just takes forever to wind up?

Oh god I beg of you DEVs. If this WAS SUPPOSED to work like that - well, thank you sincerely for nerfing to the ground ALL thrown melee weapons, making them impossible to use in the fervor of the fight, completely useless. And I really, really loved using Glaive Prime on Loki...

If NOT - please fix this asap. Remove the possibility to charge-attack with thrown weapons. I don't want it if it is in any way going to impede the throwing animation. I bet the others would prefer this too.

 

Just so you understand how much of a bother it is, I'll try to explain it to you in an example of it being extremely irritating:

1) You see an enemy heading for the automatic doors. He's a few meters from it.
2) You begin charging your basic attack to throw the weapon.
3) You can see your character flexing his muscles, so much that he would poop if he weren't just a robo-doll, and an enemy in the meantime got close enough to the doors forcing them to open up.
4) The enemy almost passed the doors, but the warframe is still charging.
5) You can see the doors closing, the warframe is still charging.
6) The doors closed. Short while after - you throw your weapon, hitting the doors, of course.

You can't even hit the god damn mob walking through the doors, that much of a nerf that was!

Don't wait, please... Fix it or I'm gonna drown you in my tears of despair and mourning after my beloved Glaive Prime.

I noticed Redeemer's "Throw" damage got severely nerfed (over 60% damage nerf) and that Charge attack for Redeemer has a slightly new animation with a longer charge. 

 

Probably a balance, but now it just makes innately charging attacks utter rubbish with the new Charge attack system.

Why can't they leave thrown charge attacks alone :c

I too mainly use Glaive Prime as my primary melee, and the charge to throw really seems way too slow.

 

Even when I had the weapon on hand instead of using the quick melee is at least twice as fast as the current charge throw, and that one too at least did an attack animation before charging and throwing.

 

I hope DE revert the charge time to how it was before since now the throw mechanic doesn't seem to be very good.

This topic got my support. I also love Glaive-type weapon because of the quick thowing attack combined with guns. Glaive-type weapons should remain their quick throwing attack instead of the new charge feature.

Agreeing with this. Other than on Valkyr, glaive prime was my default melee weapon because it let you snap out quick ranged attacks just before a reload or whatever. If the glaive throw was like, super devastating now to make up for its sluggish throw-speed then like, that could be something, but a three second build-up to kill two or three enemies is just like. Confusing?

I've been using glaives basically since my first week on warframe. And this change is not only a nerf but exceptionally buggy: not only are you forced to make a first pointless melee before throwing, but the new throw animation itself changes the flight path of the glaive, especially when crouching, for me it will throw the glaive from my far right, as if someone next to me threw it, or it magically gained foward momentum after being swung to the farthest right my right arm can extend. Charge attacks are fine for melee's, but they should only happen when the weapon is fully drawn, and throwing weapons should be exempt entirely, no glaive user is happy about this, glaives were already only reasonable competition due to the fast throw, now, its about as helpful as a plain skana.

DE! Please fix this! Throwing weapons do not need this bad of a nerf!

Also I hear redeemer's shot damage has taken a nerf too. I really think that is not balancing it very well. Especially since shotguns got a huge spike in damage making redeemer more balanced by default. Plus it did not hit /that/ hard in the first place. I cannot verify this presently as I don't have a direct comparison.

But damage aside, its also suffering the charge time problem. These are weapons who's selling point /is/ their quick draw and throw/shot. Its breaking the point of the weapon. And heavy weapons got a buff because the point of their existance was being shut down. Give us back our glaives and hybrid weapons! please
