Snipers Still Need Love.....

Gonna say this - the long thing at the end of the barrel on a sniper rifle isn't usually a suppressor IRL, most of the time it's a heat extractor. Installed to help the barrel cool down quicker and therefore lose less accuracy when fired continuously. But enough gun nerding.

I completely agree with this topic and the points made in it, except for innate suppressors (I want my sniper rifle to sound weighty and massive). Snipers are in a bad spot right now and I frequently forego my Rubico, Vulkar Wraith, or Vectis Prime to bring my Sancti Tigris or Vaykor Hek.

well I`m not a gun specialist, but it seemed like a suppressor to me lol

and I`m glad u agree, as for the suppressors, how I imagine it, something like opticor, loud as hell but nobody hears it, u know what I mean?

only 2 snipers are good now is lanka and rubico....pounch trough is big deal ...they all need that

Exactly, but not just that, lanka has a big number for base damage, near 500 electricity, which is if u ask me what all snipers should have, not the measly 200-300 they all have

in fact, looking at it from far, the rework was a nerf, all it did was add these petiful scope bonuses and screw noscope accuracy forcing us to scope all the time...

Punch Through: like, really? almost every single shooter game I know has punch through on snipers, even android shooters ._. and for a good reason, lore wise, snipers are the heaviest caliber u can get, shouldn`t they punch through walls? (considering arrows can, why can`t a sniper)

While I agree with this, I am conflicted because I like my Snipetron Vandal being special along with the Lanka.

Personally, I'd say remove the Combo Counter and just buff Crit Chance and Damage. You won't be getting anything out of it anyway if it runs out while reloading or you miss once. Sure 2x damage is nice, but I'd rather have  Crit consistency.

let`s not bring being special please, your snipetron being vandal is special enough on its own

about that, the combo counter is something I never noticed at all, probably because it`s pointlessness in a nutshell, snipers should be a slow style gun, dafuq is a combo counter doing there? agreed a crit buff is better

I must have missed something when the snipeV became endgame worthy... I'll have to check it out tonight.

It's pretty good IMO when you go for headshots, which you should do anyway. It's usually my go-to sortie weapon, though that doesn't say much.

I agree with your points, but I think the major reason all the inadequacies are so apparent is that there is no good mission type or map for then to be utilized. There are large maps, yes, but when every enemy is rushing at you, you may be able to pick off 3 or 4 until the rest of the mob is on you. Then you have to stop scoping, this losing your multiplier. They still need a lot of work, and new missions need to be added to take advantage of the snipers long range capabilities.

1st, thanks you for the support

2nd, I think the main issue is them not being usable on anything, because they suck, Lanka (the only one we can except from buffs because it`s a beast as it is) works for me fine on any mission type, because it can keep up, and its punch through solved the issue u`re talking about, that`s why I am totally convinced the first step to unsuck snipers is adding innate punch through and reverting no scope accuracy to what it was prior to rework

Lanka is also a beast due to elemental base damage combined with high status chance. Going shock and gas status/crit builds sees it actually competing with Tonkor (Least every mission I've run against a fully modded tonkor usually has only a small gap between the two, either taking lead on the team in damage/kills)

kinda, but I`m more inclined that it`s the base damage value combined with crit is what makes it this powerful

I'm going to be a heretic here and just say - I hate the Lanka. I hate energy weapons and weapons that utilize elemental damage.

But this is just me.

heretics are burned at the end, just saying :P

jokes aside, IMO lanka is the only viable sniper as of now, and I don`t like this, I want them all to be this good, that`s why I`m here

using a similar build on the Wraith (albeit Gas only) can get similar performance on it, though lesser due to procing impact and puncture as well instead of just Gas/Elec (aka BBQ build xD). Snipers could use (Not need) more status as most damage status that only use (usually) 35% of your damage benefits greatly when your hitting for 20-30k. Adds aoe to them, helping out with their single target Nature vs horde style game. But that's just me.

well I tried every single build on vulkar to make sure I`m not syaing it sucks oppressively, I am not, it sucked by all measures, a CC weapon like Punch through Tigris does more damage AND is better at CC, IMO snipers should be always deadly on single targets, that`s what their main concept is about anyway

2 damage, 2 crit, heavy, dual heat and toxin, syndicate. Could almost compete in kills/damage, but relied heavily on weak point and not missing. Not easy, but doable. Though CC/AOE is king in this game so snipers will likely always fall short till that changes.

exactly, it needs hard work to do half what a dead brain weapon can do more effeceintly, that`s why they should outperform other weapon types in the hands of a skilled user, not to make them meta, but reward their lovers

My two cents, guaranteed status and crit procs on weak points, increased status effectiveness (Cor 30%? -> 50%+ and all damage based doubled 35% -> 70%, time based, cept bleed, double duration). Would make snipers quite deadly and skill reliant).

can u please speak simpler? I`m sorry but I don`t quite understand anything between the brackets u have here

I want sniper rifles in general to have a big increase in base damage and crit chance. For a rifle class that's meant to take a heavily-armored/shielded head and crush it like a grape in a vice, they lack punch.

Remove the stupid combo thing, give them 100% hipfire accuracy (because come on, I refuse to believe in a setting with such advanced technology these powered suits of armour lack recoil dampeners/removers), innate 1m punchthrough, BIG increase to damage, no change to mag size or firerate, and boost crit chance up to 30%.
