  1. This'd probably go better in general discussion than in general feedback, since the focus is player opinions.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally just don't really care for Grendel. He's simply not my style, and while I don't have any problems accepting your assessment, I think there are other frames that tank at least as well as he does and fit my preferences more. Of course, one of those frames is Inaros, and we all know how much the players love Inaros.

It sucks that you get people tripping over your frame choice. A lot of people like to act like their sincerely held opinions are facts. You'll enjoy the game more if you ignore the people clinging to their personal opinions; you can tell when you're talking to these people because they'll refuse to listen to your arguments.

In the SFW sense, since we're on the forums: If Warframes COULD reproduce, what would the result be?

    1. Baby Warframe?
    2. Baby Orokin?
    3. Something else like some infested monster?
    4.  C-section required?
    5. Full nine months or biological oddity?
    6. Nuclear Warframe family or sent to the Lotus (just like your kubrow you monster)?
    7. Garage sale of baby stuff (not unlike Maroo's bazaar)?
    8. Does gender work the same way or is it just Space Magictm?
    9. Which polarities are inhereted?
    10. Requires transference to move or fully autonomous?
    11. Would it be a strong enough force to make frame-parents act on their own, and or kick out the operator?

    Ryan Reynolds Wtf GIF

    1. No. They reproduce by bilateral fission.
    2. Orokin don't have babies. They steal other peoples' bodies because they're big meanies.
    3. Fission.
    4. Fission.
    5. Fission.
    6. The original "dies" in the process, leaving two identical clones which retain its memories and personality.
    7. There is no baby stuff, but if the parent was a domestic frame the arsenal is split between the two new warframes.
    8. There is no gender. The only truth is blood.
    9. Polarities are split evenly between the two clones. If there are an uneven number of polarities, the clones engage in ritual combat to determine who receives the extra polarity.
    10. If the "parent" was a domestic warframe, both clones require transference. Feral warframes are fully autonomous, and are traditionally referred to as "umbra" frames.
    11. There was only one parent, which now only exists in that the newly created warframes retain its memories and personality. See previous answer regarding frame-operator social dynamics.

Echoing my support for a second deluxe skin for Trinity. Unlike @Archeyef however, I actually dislike her current one (the stick legs).

That being said, I'd prefer if Trinity get a rework first. Maybe release the second deluxe alongside the rework?

I actually dislike it too, just because of the skirt instead of the legs; I think the legs would work if the skirt wasn't there to change the profile. I was mostly just acknowledging that people might disagree, and that's why I avoided calling it bad.

  4. We don't know. It could be some literal song that we possibly learn about in upcoming content, or it could be just a poetic way to refer to the Void's influence. We know the Void somehow warps organic (and inorganic?) matter, so "giving into the Song of the Void" could mean "succumbing to Void corruption/influence".

  5. Disagree on warframe being a scifi. There's enough inexplicable weirdness for it to have strayed into science fantasy, like Star Wars. There are, obviously, a lot of surface sci-fi elements like space travel, robots, and energy weapons, but the expression of void influence, which is a central aspect of the setting, is much closer to fantasy magic. And it's pretty clear that the grimoire is powered by void magic, not conventional ammo or energy cells like most of our existing weapons. The book might not fit with the other weapons, but it certainly fits with established elements of the setting.

Infinite is fancy word here. Hearing "infinite" people would assume like hundreds forma per gear. However in reality it's like 10 maybe? People even complain about Sevagoth's ~15.

Good implementation would yield more forma per average than just "your favorite 10% of gear". Even stuffs like unlocking polarities PER SLOT instead of bank like OP suggested would yield massive increase per gear.

But if they want forces us to buy copies, do many forma to lock us in etc then it's not surprise that some people will go with just "good enough" and don't bother changing builds.

Apparently now the forums alert you if someone quotes a post that quoted you. I don't know how long that's been a thing (I lurk, like an edgelord in the corner of the tavern).

I think Voltage's point is that, with this mechanic, it would be possible to give gear functionally infinite polarity combinations without the need for additional forma: there are at most 10 mod slots in most items, except for the Nechramech which for some reason has more. If you "bank" 10 of each polarity using this system, then you would never be out of the polarities you need under any circumstances short of DE increasing the number of mod slots. So for a comparatively small investment, you'd have the ability to change your build without ever using additional forma after that point.

More, but not infinite. This type of thing has been suggested for years now, but the thing players overlook is that future-proofing builds is exactly what DE doesn't want when it comes to Forma. They want it to be a permanent treadmill, not just a finish line like the Focus system or Intrinsics.

Fair, but I wasn't really suggesting it would be infinite. If DE did implement something like this, it'd probably be in a reduced capacity; maybe each polarity's bank has a maximum quantity below the 8-10 quantity, after which you need to use forma as we do now.

Yeah, that's kinda my thinking. It gets rid of most of the problems people have with installing formas, while also giving a reason to forma things more than standard.

Even if this system was added I feel like most people would probably only install 2-3 of each forma which is still a lot in the grand scheme. And it'd make equipment like Necramechs, and the Tenet/Kuva weapons feel less painful when trying to forma them 5 times.

    mhm

And, just because I realized my response could be interpreted as negative (although I didn't get that impression from you) , I don't think it's a bad idea. If I'm understanding this right, your proposal isn't incompatible with the way forma currently works, so if done right it should be a minor change at worst.

I agree, I think most people would just install forma to the same extent they do now,  and only powergamers and build theorists who love experimenting and switching up their builds would invest more.

While the spoiler you're talking about is true for the residents of Duviri, Teshin... isn't a resident of Duviri. He's a prjsoner from outside. So no, I'm pretty sure your spoiler is wrong.

I think they're referring to that specific scene. That wasn't Teshin, but one of the Duviri dax impersonating him.

  10. This is more of a mechanic change than removal, but I miss Nullifier bubbles being dome-shields instead of the absorption fields they are now. I liked being able to dash into a nullie bubble and kill them while it was still up. Now it seems they've made it a field you have to deplete before you can attack anything in its radius, even if you're inside. At least, that's been my experience. Not a fan of that change.

Personally, I think a much more Tenno thing to do is create circumstances in which Grineer will become more aware of themselves and their leaders' goals for them, and then sit back and eat popcorn while watching what the Tenno did to the Orokin Empire now being done with the Grineer to other Grineer.

And then, help the now more aware Grineer write their own story.

That is very Tenno. I like that.

  12. While I agree that this sounds like something the Grineer would totally do (Kela...), I'm really not a fan of the idea of Tenno getting involved in it; that's basically the Tenno turning into the same despots as the Orokin.

If it's a specific gamemode that doesn't involve the Tenno, I don't really see a problem with that. Maybe you tie it to Steel Meridian or Kahl, and these customizable grineer are fighting to escape or something like that. If it's Corpus, do the same but tie them to Glast/Perrin Sequence or Vox Solaris/Fortuna. Or you could tie them to Granum, and have it relate to the divide between modern Corpus, like Nef Anyo and the board, and fundamentalist Corpus represented by Granum, Glarios, and the Sisters.

Just to make sure, you went to Duviri, pick up a bunch of resources and then earned a decree to save your inventory?

This is happening on PC as well; myself and my friend were in a squad in Duviri open-world, completed a number of decrees and picked up resources from the world, and made sure to earn one last decree before leaving via return-to-orbiter. Our end of mission screens did not match the amounts we earned, nor did the Sun and Moon build requirements in the foundry.

Here's a link to another thread on the same subject from a PC user (not my thread).

This is no longer true since Warframe Revised. Gas now does nothing for Corpus. Toxin + Magnetic is a better option.

If you're looking at raw damage, absolutely, Toxin + Magnetic is better. But I specified this was for a status build. If you're using all four of the dual stat 60/60 mods, to maximize status chance, you will end up with Gas + Magnetic. The goal being to boost the chance of a Magnetic proc as much as possible.

However. I personally do prefer to run a toxin damage build against corpus, and just bypass their shields altogether.

  15. Well I don't know how helpful this will be, but here goes some general advice:

You don't need rivens, and they're not that great. I don't use them either and I do just fine even in kuva fortress levels and beyond.

If you're running a status focused build, it depends on the faction; Gas + Magnetic does well for Corpus, Viral + Radiation does well for Grineer. For infested, just smack them with your melee.

If you're running a damage build, it's slightly more complicated. I suggest having your primary built for the grunts, and your melee built for the tanks. Use the primary to clear out the grunts and close distance, then carve up the tanks close-range. You secondary can be whatever, but I personally like to contrast it with the primary. If it's a full-auto primary, take a semi-auto secondary, etc.

Either way, Damage or Status, you should try as much as you can to work WITH your weapon's native elemental damage. If it's just got puncture/slash/impact, I would suggest adding elemental damage, but which you choose is up to you, based on the faction. But you absolutely should pay attention to the resistances and weaknesses.

Weapon choice is tricky. Not every weapon is going to be super viable at high-level play, but which weapons you pick depends a lot on what your preferences are. If you just can't get into a certain weapon, then you're probably not going to do well with it, even if it is "the absolute best OMGLULZ."

Assuming you have reactors on your frames, frame modding is ultimately down to your playstyle. Experiment. Find out what playstyles work for you, and mod for them. Yes, dropping forma on your frames will indeed make them better, but it's good to experiment with them before committing forma. That way you know what to polarize for. This will get easier as you get more practice at it, but you have to practice.

  16. It's not really a matter of "should." It's up to you. It's a good idea to have and learn the different frames, because that'll open up more opportunities for you to play in organized groups, but there's nothing wrong with mostly sticking to the frames you know you enjoy or are good at playing.

  17. I think the answer would be yes and no. Technically, it is PvP. But it's not PvP in the sense of direct competition. That's the type of gameplay that people who say they dislike PvP most likely have in mind. The kind that directly pits one person or group against another.

Scoreboards/ leaderboards can easily be ignored by anyone that isn't interested, even if they're taking part in the associated gameplay. So for the second question, I'd say it doesn't NEED one, but there's not really any good reason I can think of to say it shouldn't have one.

Kinda sounds like a band-aid fix if you ask me. But I never knew about that, thx for the knowledge lol.

Also it seems like abilities still sometimes get stuck in "in-use" states, I think mostly with the operator dying or something, cus it seems to happen most often during eidolons when you're popping into operator mode and it dies a lot.

It is a band-aid fix. Charity makes me want to say that's the only plausible fix, but cynicism makes me say they just couldn't be bothered. Maybe it's just another example of "quick fix and forget." Either way, that's why it is the way it is now. It's preferable to the alternative of never being able to recover.
