  1. Just suffered from this during SP Kuva Survival. Unable to take damage, jumping into a pit didn't fix the issue, loot limited exclusively to stuff picked up as operator after bug initiated, game refused to recognize reactant picked up DESPITE STILL CONSUMING THE RELICS I HAD PREVIOUSLY OPENED! Worst of all, Nightwave refused to recognize my mission time; half an hour of work completely down the drain.

  3. New Warframe skin idea: Hydroid Ahuizotl (Aztec) Mythical beast from Aztec folklore (Nahua translates to "water dog" or "spiny water thing"); hybrid creature resembling a dog with otter-like fur (rubbery texture when wet, some sources say it clumps up into spikes when removed from water), wrinkled (as in skin pruned from being in the bath too long) human-like face, and long prehensile tail ending in a monkey-like hand; hunted people along riverbanks, canals, and the shorelines of ponds and lakes, luring them close to the water's edge before snatching them into water with their tail hand; ahuizotls drowned their victims, shoving the bodies into submerged roots or overhangs to sufficiently rot, at which point they would devour the corpse's eyeballs, nails, and teeth (likely a folk explanation for the selective taphonomic degradation/loosening of those elements in waterlogged corpses) Ahuizotls often lured people to the water's edge by imitating the sounds of humans drowning, whistling, or the cries of human children; suggest adding crying or whistling sound effect when using Undertow Like all drowning victims, victims of ahuizotls were considered blessed by Tlaloc, and were sent to the verdant watery paradise of Tlalocan when they died; as such, ahuizolts were considered sacred to Tlaloc and Chalchiutlicue; consider giving helmet Tlaloc goggles? Helmet: vaguely canine, wrinkled texture; given that Ahuizotl was the chosen throne name and personal emblem of an Aztec emperor, suggest helmet include a triangular turquoise crown element reminiscent to that worn by Aztec tlatoanis Skin: Rubbery black texture on back, pale underbelly, spikey hair texture in certain places, long dangling tail ending in a hand from the back in the belt region Undertow and Tentacle Swarm: change tentacles to end in hands which grasp targets Will be updating previous post with pictures shortly.
  4. Yeah, I could see a Kuva Javlok. That said, I'm sick to death of bows in everything in general, and would like to see atlatls get some love too :P I brought up the Serro because it was one of the first weps I made when I was starting out... only to almost immediately scrap it because of how disappointing it was. Given how DE is clearly trying to increase usage/late game viability of early-game mastery fodder with incarnons and kuva/tenet weps, Serro seems like an obvious next move in the event they add something to the tenet roster. My pleasure. I've been interested in Precolumbian civilizations and cultures since I was a kid (mostly Mesoamerican and the Andean regions), and it saddens me that such cultures receive such little attention. Granted, there are historical reasons for that; in the Andes for example, the closest thing to a writing system that developed were quipu, arrays of knotted string in which complex information was coded based on weave, weft, turn direction, dyes, patterns, etc. As such, I actually did a double-take when I first saw them add the Sheev. Sadly, as I said, they're holding it wrong in-game (to say nothing of the lackluster base stats). No input though on a possible Moche-style warclub? Like I said, they fit the Grineer aesthetic; Hell, they look like Lech Kril's head.
  5. Getting some more ideas for other warframe skins (will probably elaborate/add pictures later) Revenant: Young Maize God (Mayan) Conical/crested head; could either be shaped like a growing maize cob, with hair coiffed to look like same, or a corn plant sprouting out of a split in his elongated forehead; helmet ideally accentuated with jiggle-boned quetzal feather crest or fan in the back Dancing motif recurs extensively in Mayan art corpus, fits Danse Macabre Portrayed in a repeating cosmic drama wherein the Young Maize God dies and is resurrected at the Sacred Center as the World Tree, resonates somewhat with Revenants' undying theme Problem: no chance of having dwarf or hunchbacked sidekicks/retainers Little metal elements hanging over enthralled targets' heads could be altered to resemble corn leaves Mesmer Skin could sheathe Revenant's limbs/torso with ethereal corn leaves; alternatively, the green, spiky bark of a young ceiba tree Syandana/accessiory slot (a la Nekros' Mortos Binds): jiggle-boned quetzal plume backrack/banner Associated weapon skin: staff skin resembling a traditional digging stick with appropriately elaborate finial? Ephemera: scattering corn kernels where he walks (only half joking about this) K'awiil (Mayan) Like the Young Maize God, frequently shown dancing, typically in a posture similar to Danse Macabre; sports a live serpent for a leg/foot, upon which K'awiil dances or rides Revenant's default head shape very similar to that of K'awiil, which is defined by a serpentine mouth, and a high forehead sporting a polished stone/mosaic mirror and/or smoking axehead Lavos: K'awiil (Mayan) First and foremost, K'awiil is a snake god: sports a reptilian snout and eyes, and has a snake for one of his legs/feet; like Lavos's snakes, this serpent leg has a mind of its own, and serves as his personal uay Replace dual serpents with dynamic boa constrictor/rattlesnake leg? Change animations so that Lavos' first ability is a kick rather than a punch? Retain punch, give one snake hand? K'awiil's domains cover fire, lightning, kingship, axes (which he embodies), and blood; Maya kings regularly carried "manikin" scepters in the image of K'awiil as ritual implements and badges of office, usually using his serpent leg to form the handle Given K'awiil's maintaining of royal bloodlines and demand for blood offerings, any and all fluid ampules Lavos carries could be filled with blood; for the helmet, he could have a pair of blood-filled globes in place of ear spools, perhaps with serpentine dangles coming out the back (ending in yet more blood globes) Oh God, the Vial Rush would look like an abattoir, splattering gore everywhere... K'awiil bore a ritual scrying mirror in his forehead (usually made from obsidian, hematite, or pyrite mosaic) and/or a smoking/flaming axehead that pierces his skull Helmet: wide forehead supports a slightly concave mirror of polished obsidian or hematite, with a stone axehead emerging from its center Axehead effect: smoke, fire, lightning, all three? Additional mirrors inlaid in skin? Have serpents slither through mirrors? Catalyze Probes: reskin to resemble obsidian mirrors? Transmutation probe: K'awiil was intimiately associated with "eccentric flints," ritual instruments made by carefully knapping flint or obsidian into elaborate shapes, often displaying human faces and/or K'awiil's face in profile; some appear to have functioned as finials for staves; regularly found buried in ritual caches; replace Lavos' Transmutation Probe with a thrown eccentric flint? Potential problem: Lavos considerably more robust of build than most images of K'awiil. Make warframe model skinnier? Or just trim down his massive arm and knee guards? Valkyr: Sakal Chel (Mayan) Elderly aspect of the mother/moon goddess, Ix Chel; devouring grandmother archetype, extremely cranky Resembles a hag with jaguar paws and claws in place of hands Helmet: snarling crone with large nose and jaguar fangs Skin: jaguar paws over forearms and lower legs, huipil cinched with belt over torso Atlas: Cabrakan (Mayan) "Earthquake" in K'iche Mayan, bore the epithet "mountain-hurler"; fed a poisoned bird by the Hero Twins, Hunahpu and Xbalanque, left blind and paralyzed before being buried alive in a burial urn; periodic struggles in his tomb cause earthquakes Helmet/torso could be modeled off of Mayan funerary urns or incensarios If based on incensarios, modeled effigies on body should be perforated with holes (usually in the mouth, nostrils, eyes, between the bones for skeletal gods, corresponding orifices for anthropomorphic/zoomorphic regalia, etc.) that leak smoke Helmet could also be modeled off of the zoomorphic witz glyph, as the Maya and the earlier Olmec often represented earth monsters as mountains with caves (usually with quatrefoil-shaped openings) for mouths Chroma: Yahui (Zapotec) Zapotec flying thunder spirit; reptilian hybrid, combining aspects of serpent (associated with lightning), turtle (associated with thunder), and either a crocodile (associated with earth and water) head or headdress mask Outer skin/effigy would feature a turtle shell and open crocodilian jaws around face Yahui typically shown carrying torches or tecpatl knives in both hands; associated fist, dual daggers, or dual sword skins? Volt: Chac (Mayan) Mayan storm god Combination of reptilian/ichthyic features (e.g. catfish barbels), often a hooked nose, greyish blue skin Lighting axe skin? (Axe likely has K'awiil features, as Chac was regularly shown wielding a truncated/manikin scepter version of K'awiil as his lightning axe); if dual sword type, recommend large handstone in off hand Cloud effects? Yopaat (Mayan) Alternate aspect of Chac, patron god of ritual boxing (typically with handstones), defined by sparking/smoking eyebrows; bundled with fist weapon skin in the form of handstones? Tlaloc (Teotihuacan, Aztec) Mexican highland equivalent to Mayan Chac Blue and black skin, round white goggles over eyes, mouth filled with jaguar fangs Yareli: Chalchiutlique (Aztec/Teotihuacan) "Lady of the Jeweled Skirt," goddess of groundwater and wife of Tlaloc Yareli's skirt could be composed of large jade and turquoise beads Reminiscent of Teotihuacano representations of this goddess, give helmet butterfly-shaped nose ornament and headband with an ornament in the shape of a butterfly's coiled proboscis Xaku: Mictlantecuhtli (Aztec) Eternally hungry skeletal death god, ruled over underworld realm of Mictlan Resembles a googly-eyed skeleton with tecpatl tongue and penis (probably shouldn't include in-game), heart visible in chest rib cage Mictlantecuhtli skeletonized the dead that journeyed to Mictlan using a wind of flint knives, which Mictlantechutli then gathers and devours; resonates with Xaku's skills? Embrace skeletal symbolism, sugar skull helmet Suggestion: The Vast Untime doesn't actually change the helmet's size, but does add inlaid crazy eyes in sockets and a flint knife tongue when active Ah Puch/Kisin (Mayan) Follows similar skeletal motif as Mictlantecuhtli, albeit with more flesh; body often looks starved, jaundiced, marked with lesions, swollen, etc. Remnants of outer skin display different sicknesses? Would fit motif established by other lords of Xibalba ("Demon of Jaundice", "Demon of Pus," "Blood Collector," "Scab-Stripper," etc.) "Kisin" is a title for the Lords of Xibalba which means "flatulent one," in reference to the filth, disease, and miasma these death gods spread; add effects related to flatulence? Grendel: Zipacna (Mayan) Mayan variant of the pan-Mesoamerican Earth Crocodile; portayed in the Popol Vuh as a giant with crocodilian and volcanic attributes; gluttonous, both for food and for women (his capture and sealing beneath a mountain by the Hero Twins is an elaborately coded sexual joke) Grendel's torso face has crocodilian jaws Given Zipacna's close similarities to Highland Mexico's Tlaltecuhtli/Cipactli, suggest adding extra mouths/jaws/faces at major joints of body; if done, suggest making torso face/jaws quatrefoil-shaped with four eyes in corners Regurgitate effects reconfigured to resemble volcanic eruption Crocodilian helmet Zipacna dug a posthole for the 400 Brothers's house, and they ultimately jammed said post in while Zipacna was still in the hole. Suspecting treachery, however, Zipacna dug himself an alcove that would accommodate him, then convinced the brothers he was dead by allowing ants to climb out of the hole carrying bits of his flesh. Seeing this, the 400 Brothers celebrated with a feast. As soon as they were all asleep, Zipacna erupted out of the ground, launching the house and the 400 Brothers into the sky, where they became stars. Suggest adding a visual effect, ephemera, or accessory that shows ants crawling over Grendel. Styanax: Huitzilopochtli (Aztec) Patron god of the Aztec empire, domains included war, sun, eagles, hummingbirds, the south... Helmet has blue hummingbird headdress or headband Javelins takes form of Huitzilopochtli's xiucoatl ("turquoise/fire serpent," animate weapon combines imagery of serpent, fire, lightning bolt, and atlatl) Shield takes form of a traditional Aztec chimalli shield, with featherwork mosaic and tassels (uncertain what livery to put on it, probably something avian) Will update more later Edit: Garuda Itzpapalotl/Tzitzimitl (Aztec) Tziztimime were skeletal star demons with massive clawed hands, extra eyeballs at major joints, and some spider attributes; when stars are briefly made visible during solar eclipses, the Aztec believed the tzitzimime were attacking the sun god, Tonatiuh/Huitzilipochtli; during the New Fire ceremony, every fire in Mexico would be put out and pregnant women would wear maguey leaf masks, the expectation being that they would transform into tzitzimime and devour their own families if a new sacred fire was not kindled on Popocatepetl; during the end of the Fifth Sun, the Aztecs believed the tzitzimime would descend from the sky, rappelling head down from the stars via spider threads, to devour mankind Itzpapalotl ("obsidian butterfly") was the warrior goddess who led the tzitzimime; she had black skin, a skeletal mouth, jaguar claws on her fingers, and butterfly wings edged in obsidian blades Helmet: Top half of shows red and white candy-striping, lower half looks like black version of Nidus's Phryke helm, star symbols (resemble Pokeballs in Postclassic codices) where eyes would be Syandana: levitating obsidian blades in the general shape of butterfly wings, flap when Garuda jumps Garudas claws have jaguar skin paws and/or resemble spider legs on upper surfaces, cutting edges of claws look like obsidian blades More star eyes at the joints of her limbs? Custom diving animation similar to that of Zephyr? Edit 2: Nidus Sak Baak Nah Chapat/White Bone House Centipede (Mayan) In Maya cosmology, large poisonous centipedes were considered liminal creatures, analogous to night/underworld counterparts of snakes; portrayals in art superficially similar to snake, save that they were skeletal, had a trifoil nose/fangs, and skeletal jaws The Maya city state of Palenque, known during the Classic Period as "Bakel" ("the Bone kingdom") had a powerful centipede uay as a patron/protector of their dynasty, the Sak Baak Nah Chapat ("White Bone House Centipede"); the jaws of this centipede uay function as the jaws of the underworld on Palenque's famous sarcophagus lid For Nidus, this skin will feature a large centipede coiled around his body, the legs clamped so tight that they're more or less flush with his skin; once Nidus hits sufficient mutation stacks, at least half of those centipede legs will lift away, revealing the warframe's bones underneath; texture of centipede will be somewhere between bone and chitin; slight loosening of centipede coils when open? Helmet will feature large mandibles reminiscent of centipede pincers in Maya art (specifically, those on Pacal's sarcophagus lid), and will become fully visible/extended once sufficient mutation stacks are gained Reskin maggots as suitably stylized centipedes or scorpions?
  6. Well, I did have a couple ideas for deluxe Kullervo skins the other day. Already had some ideas for other Mesoamerican skins kicking around (K'awiil or the Young Maize God for Revenant, Quetzalcoatl or K'awiil for Lavos, Sakal Chel for Valkyr, Cabrakan for Atlas, Yahui for Chroma, etc.), but given my mood, I could probably think of a suitable god or mythical figure for a full-on warframe. Will see what I can come up with and get back to you. Or from Mayan traditions, Ix Chel. Wait... better yet, one based on Ixtab. She was a goddess shown in the surviving Maya codices, and while we don't have much surviving information on her, she was strongly associated with suicide by hanging. Moreover, while not entirely analogous, this goddess's name seems to have carried over into the xtabai of colonial/modern Central American folklore. Xtabai are spiritual femme fatales, beautiful women with ankle-length black hair seen standing at the side of the road or within the treeline at night, using their feminine wiles to beckon young men to their doom. What they actually do to their victims after seducing them and luring them into the forest varies, but the general consensus is that a xtab will use her victim like a succubus before devouring him. A xtab will often be seen hiding behind a ceiba tree or combing her hair with a tzacam cactus. Some traditions say you can see through a xtab's glamor if you notice she has one or more bird feet. While normally considered malicious, in some areas xtabai are said to selectively target drunkards, thieves, and violent criminals. It needs more fleshing out, but I'm already seeing a few things come together: A noose around the warframe's neck, and an ability that causes said noose to rise and suspend her in the air, a foot or two off the ground; may or may not be related to an ability that hangs enemies around her, a bit like Nezha's Divine Spears One chicken foot Something analogous to hair that runs down at least as far as her lower back, could have some tentacular abilities A hypnotic ability similar to Nyx's kit (wouldn't be the first) that either lures targeted units away/renders non-hostile An ability to temporarily create pieces of cover (namely, a tree), either part of or synchronizing with the charm ability
  7. "Sono chi no sadame! Joooooooo JO!"
  8. What about an atlatl/spearthrower of some sort? Maybe with the javelins held in the free hand? The simplicity of such tech strikes me as something the Grineer might use. Alternatively, it could use mechanics similar to the throwing secondary fire of spearguns. Edit: What about a Tenet Serro? Edit 2: What about a Kuva Sheev? And given that the Sheev is based on Peruvian tumi knives, what about something based on Andean-style maces? In particular, the design of Moche maces/warclubs come to mind: As you can see, this type of mace would work well in the sword and shield category, though thematic fidelity would likely dictate that the hand shield be relatively small. The shape of these warclubs also resonates with the general aesthetic of the Grineer. Slightly off-topic, much as I love DE for adding a tumi to the game, the Sheev is held incorrectly in-game. IRL, tumis were generally held with the crescent blade pointing down, opposite the thumb. In their capacity as sacrificial knives, the finishing move usually entailed holding the blade next to the neck and dragging it laterally across the throat.
  9. Did a little fashionframe experimentation, mostly in terms of color scheme, and symbolically resonant accessories and weapons. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3009373929 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3009374138 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3009374203 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3009374300 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3009374330 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3009374355
  10. You flatter me. I wouldn't know, last Tekken game I played was back when video arcades were still a thing. Unfortunately, the Quetzalcoatl summon from FF8 bears little resemblance to the actual god, either anthropomorphically (usually portrayed in Mexican art as an old bearded man wearing a bright red duck-billed mouth mask; in retrospect, very similar to the Ramuh summon) or as his nagual (the plumed serpent god whose cult is older than writing in Mesoamerica). Also, Quetzalcoatl had many domains, but wind would have made far more sense as his elemental damage type in FF8 than electricity; while winds were regularly associated with rain, there were quite a few storm gods (eg. Tlaloc) who would have better brought the lightning. Hell, Mesoamerican mythic traditions have been near unanimous since the Olmecs in art showing a thunder god splitting open the sacred mountain where maize was first hidden. "Cleft Mountain" also makes a good name for a lightning attack, bonus points if it blasts out corn and heals your party a little! But yeah, as someone who has studied Mesoamerican cultures casually and professionally since I was a kid, it breaks my heart how such complex artistic and mythological systems go underutilized in popular culture and media. There is so much untapped potential to work with! Hell, there's even a complex underlying metaphysics and philosophical bedrock to build off of, a still surviving worldview/cultural ethos that has endured since at least the Olmecs, a veritable Tao of corn! (And no, I'm not joking. But that's a lecture for another time...) Suffice to say, I find myself starved for such content and with extremely high standards. And against all odds, I have actually found a couple games that meet said standards. Curse of the Dead Gods: roguelike where you play a late 19th/early 20th century European explorer trapped in temples of dead gods. Not only is the gameplay engaging, but these people did their homework. While not strictly adhering to any particular RL Mesoamerican civilizations (which, to be fair, did blend together a lot to varying degrees), the core unifying themes are present and organic. I was genuinely surprised to find that the lore text actually follows the linguistic rules of actual Mayan languages, aka it sounds right. Macuahuitls and related macana (wood and obsidian) weapons are a regular feature and part of your armory. If anything, I have very few gripes, and most of them are minor: Guacamelee: The cultural traditions I've been describing survive to this day to varying degrees, albeit often heavily modified in adaptation to changing social orders. Dia de los Muertos itself is derived from a festival to the Postclassic Mexican death goddess, Mictecacihuatl, same with the associated sugar skulls and marigolds. Even the introduction of Christianity has led to an endless mess of syncretisms as old gods have either been worshipped quietly or reinterpreted as Catholic saints. (By happy accident, the overarching native metaphysics and ethos in Mesoamerica has many symbolic and thematic convergences with Christianity, which led many natives to convert to the new religion voluntarily both during and after the Spanish Conquest. But we can talk about that later...) Suffice to say, in spite of its obvious goofiness, the Guacamelee series shows intimate knowledge of Mexican cultural traditions and folklore, old and new. Hell, you get your power-ups from a Mayan uay sorcerer, the first time I've even heard uays mentioned outside of academic media. What's more, some of these elements are surprisingly subtle: FYI, do not get me started on Apocalypto. We'd be here for days as I list everything they got wrong. Based on the linguistic structure of his name, he sounds Mayan. I also detect elements of the Aztec Huitzilopochtli and the Mayan K'awiil.
  11. Funny you should mention that. I just posted some ideas for a new Kullervo skin in Fan Concepts, and knives are a major component of that:
  12. As someone with a penchant for Mesoamerican cultures, I find their themes and motifs severely underutilized in popular culture. Credit where it's due, DE did very good on this front with the theming of Hunhow (recalling Hun Hunahpu, the maize god who was murdered by the lords of Xibalba and had his head hung in a tree in the K'iche Maya Popol Vuh). Unfortunately, these motifs are far from noticeable visually/aesthetically, with the closest one gets being the Day of the Dead cosmetics and Entrati glyphs. There is so much untapped potential to work with. And it is with that in mind that my muse has just nudged me. Looking at our newest warframe, Kullervo (specifically, his Baneful Blades attachment), I see potential not just for one, but two (possibly three) possible motifs for an Aztec-style deluxe skin pack. Looking at Kullervo's pierced, bleeding body, two particular Aztec gods (and one legendary warrior) spring to mind: Xipe Totec, Tlahuicole, and Itztlacoliuqui. Okay, now with that history lesson out of the way, I can flesh out my skin/cosmetic ideas a bit more. Baneful Blades: These accessories are what really inspired me, because they function for both god skins and offer several options/visual themes to choose from. Xipe Totec/Tlahuicole skin: A golden, blood-drenched Kullervo wearing someone else's rotting flayed skin (still not sure who, as all human factions or other warframes could work), complete with mouth hole and drooping/half-shut eyeholes over the helmet, tear streaks under the eye holes, big tears showing the frame's "natural" skin color (then again, given the euphemisms of Aztec goldsmiths, the flayed skin could alternatively be golden over red skin), the hole in the back and assorted tears in the skin cinched up with chords, and jiggleboned hand skin gloves dangling at the wrists. A headdress of pink feathers would be the cherry on top. And given that Tlahuicole was ultimately sacrificed to Xipe Totec, "Tlahuicole" makes an ideal name for the set that combines both the fallen legendary warrior and the god who wears him. Edit: For an additional touch of Tlahuicole, there could be a noose binding one of his ankles. Itztlacoliuqui skin: Black skin, streaked with white in places, counterpoised with a white fluffy-textured garment (potentially bloodstained around the Baneful Blade entry points?), knots of white cloth in various places. The helmet features a Revenant-like backward curving blade crest, the curved tip of which ends in a shoulder-length white tassel. The agate-like black and white banding of the face continues up the blade, which is pierced by a javelin or arrow (ideally broken and jiggleboned like the ones on the Protosomid shoulder guard). There should either be a blank black space or a cloth knot matching the others on his body over where the eyes would be. Itztlacoliuqui's many knots and tassels also provide an opportunity for additional armor pieces and/or a syandana. And as long as I'm here, we could really do with either a macuahuitl melee weapon or weapon skin to complete the bundle (should be in longsword, sword and shield, or heavy weapon categories). A tecpatl dagger skin would be cool, too. All feedback is welcome. And to any in the Tennogen community, feel free to run with these ideas with my blessing.
  13. Had the same problem for 2 weeks running. Just left the stream running for a few minutes while doing some chores, came back after 45 minutes to find only 1% drop progress. Refreshed, progress stalled by looping ads. What is going on?
  14. Just happened to me. The idiots in my squad decided to only grab one arcane before rushing the orowyrm then extract over my protests. I left the squad, soloed the other portals, and now stepping into the exit just flashes the "get to the extraction point" header. 30 minutes down the drain. I want my God damned arcanes, pathos clamps, and Kullervo bane. HOW IS THIS STILL A PROBLEM OVER A MONTH AFTER RELEASE?
  15. I have been trying to accomplish ANYTHING in WF for the last ten hours. Yet within a 1-3 minutes, typically while trying to click something in load-out/foundry/menus, my game freezes and my PC either crashes or I'm forced to do a hard reset. I have already tried the normal checks and settings for this sort of thing, but nothing has worked, and this problem only arose following the last two updates. I think there might be a connection.
