  1. vacuum is desirable because picking up all the loot in the game is a pain. vacuum wouldn't be seen as so essential if ammo wasn't a pickup. also, why is ammo a pickup? it's annoying and the rainbow boxes all over the floor don't look good

what if health, energy and ammo were not pickups, but were awarded a different way during missions? for example, ammo could be a supply drop, like lotus' life support capsules. maybe energy and health could be given to players for achieving certain mini-goals. or on enemy kills - channeling kills, headshot kills, elite baddy kills, melee combo kills?

health orbs barely ever drop without nekros anyway

by getting rid of hp, energy and ammo pickups, vacuum is no longer required. endo and mod drops are uncommon enough that running over them to pick them up isn't the huge pain as energy, hp and ammo are today

please remember to consider the chesa kubrow's role when making loot pickup changes

I agree with what you suggest, extra standing should be tied to the rank you're with with your syndicate, it'll fix this problem and help with fashion frame, since I always find myself using the highest paying sigils on my frames

maybe 'highest rank you've achieved with that syndicate'. i tanked meridian standing recently, but i'll gain it back faster than i originally gained it, because i already own the champion sigil

  3. after realising with arcane helmets that tying stats to cosmetics was a bad idea, de went ahead and tied syndicate standing to cosmetics. then they went ahead and tied stats to helmets and syandanas, with a charge to remove them. finally de remembered that was a bad idea and will remove the arcane distiller 'sometime'

having different sigils give different rates of rep gain is annoying if i like the look of the lower-gain symbols more than the higher-gain

i just went and changed the sigils on every frame i own. which is all of them. huge pita. but if i didn't do it for every frame at once, i'd forget upon changing frames and lose standing with the syndicate i'm repping atm by accident. which is also a pita. i don't expect the game to serve up tedium but that's exactly what it's doing

"Making something tedious will not stop players doing it if it's very clearly the best option. They'll do it, and they'll hate it" - CCP Greyscale. it's up to the developers to ensure that what i'm doing in the game doesn't make me hate the game

  4. yeah my meaning was all the relic missions feel the same because the way we do the mission is the same. wait for the yellow light, kill some guys, pick up ten widgets. far more time is spent on that than chasing the capture target or moving through the rescue room. to me, capture and rescue fissures might as well be exterminate - with a couple of different motions for the thirty seconds it takes to complete the objective

so when i see exterminates, captures or rescues in the list, i also feel there's not much variety to be had

  5. the basic expectation anyone has when clicking 'join game' in a shooty coop computer game is being able to enjoy themselves while shooting baddies, cooperatively. not either racing the jerk with the ember/simulor or walking through an empty stage to extraction

anything that makes us not want to play cooperatively with others is a design flaw, and a game that fails to provide satisfying challenge is going to see more players suffering burnout, sooner

Oh good. More time spent on that. Why not? Its gone so well recently...

Seriously, why is this mode still a thing? I get that a very few people like it, and a few more tolerate its existence. But you have worked on a game mode for more than two years, and havent even managed to come up with a movement system that doesnt make players physically ill.

i disagree entirely. they have created a perfectly serviceable movement system

then they dumped it, to be replaced with the current rubbish

It's been a while since I posted on this thread and I might make one on players helping players soon anyway but I'll try.

This might sound silly but I'm looking for a high fire rate primary or secondary that has the capability of 85% - 100% status proc that is mostly in puncture and can be modded for corrosive damage and blast.

The reason is to shred armor with corrosive, decrease enemy damage with puncture, and CC with blast. The idea is you'll be able to deal more damage, take more damage and CC crowds. I've been looking on the wiki and other sites and can't really find exactly what i'm looking for. Some options I found that were kinda close was the Zhuge, Spectra and Hikou Prime. The Hek, Vaykor Hek, Latron Prime, and Daikyu aren't high fire rate but might be other options for what I'm looking for. Now I just need to wait for DE to release this dream weapon of mine and my obsession will be quenched.

supra can easily meet 50% status with a very high fire rate and magazine size. it's primarily puncture, and can be modded with both blast and corrosive if you don't want ammo mutation or stabiliser. its entropy effect gives you energy. it won't do much damage, but it's incredibly fun

you might even drop serration for ammo mutation

  8. Yeah suddenly getting into first person is weird

The other thing I really don't like is selecting the scanner. The whole point of a wheel or radial menu is to allow the player to select menu options very quickly, without thinking, from memory - but someone went ahead and decided to use TWO radial menus, sitting side by side, with the cursor's default location either inbetween the menus or in the centre of the menu you last selected - meaning the player wastes time and thought trying to figure out where the cursor even is. This all for the sake of emotes we only ever activate at extraction

The colour of the simaris scanner is as bad as the grineer vault hacking puzzles - superimposing an orange translucent puzzle over a yellow background. Eugh

  9. Your opinion but at high levels(60 min + t4 sur) you would be pleading for extra damage as crit headshots do alot with heavy cal and accuracy reduction is not much, But then again for lower level rumbling it is definitely much more usable.

the accuracy reduction is an applied damage reduction. it's super annoying and cc's the main deal anyway vOv

  10. Totally disagree with this.  Don't try to make Warframe like every other boring fricken' game with namby-pamby "abilities".

DE have to strike a balance, that's all: a balance between big, bold "superpowers", and gameplay "purity".  Too much of one and you have over-used ults, too much of the other and you have ... Chess.

For the most part, for most frames, the balance is right, they just have to keep feeling for the sweet spot.  Getting rid of "large damage AoEs" altogether would be a disaster for the game though.  "Boring" is in the eye of the beholder - "gameplay" a bit less so, but still somewhat.

Another way of saying this: there's a balance to be struck between "Warframe as class" and "Warframe as character".  The former requires thinking about things like balance, gameplay, etc., the latter requires something more like an indefinable cool factor and the Warframe feeling like a unified "character", all of a piece.  Neither factor should overwhelm the other.

yeah i don't actually want all aoe ults removed, sorry. but currently what we have is a lot of powers that can be cast repeatedly in a short period of time, and in the case of some powers, i feel they're really not making the game entertaining. some, like mesa's ult, are or were capable of turning the game into cruise control which is terrible for pace, interest and burnout.

while warframe's progression encourages us to blitz through missions as quickly and easily as we can, it's also encouraging us to max our powers to the point where the game's on that cruise control mode

i agree large damage aoes aren't troublesome per se, but i feel they're a part of a problem. i'd like to see warframe at a point where after we've min-maxed and taken our powers to the limit, the game's still entertaining. mesa's ult didn't provide that entertainment and some other powers don't either

  11. attn. thisbandisawful:

because pull was oh so different from miasma

    or avalanche

    or reckoning

    etc.

also peacemaker was like blade storm except you were a sitting duck

now it requires duration too, unlike blade storm, and you're still a sitting duck, unlike blade storm

hell, now it's a bad exalted blade.  that forces you to be a sitting duck, when EB doesn't.

yeah these powers are also pretty awful get rid of 'em

'the large damage aoe' is a boring ult and when the powers are as spammable as they are in warframe it just robs gameplay value from the players

  12. peacemaker is one hundred percent unfun and dumb

ain't putting up with that 'other people might find it fun' deal; they bloody well don't. they get the minor sense of satisfaction from getting a new mr and misinterpret that as fun. great way to waste your life

and while players have aimbot godmode strategies to bypass content the grind cannot be reduced

  13. not many find the mission hard. but the drop table has rare items that require you to complete the alert over and over and over again to gain - as well as a good chance of getting only a useless, crummy reward

people will take mesa to expend as little effort as possible to complete the mission in as little time as possible, because warframe rewards being anti-fun

  14. Wait this event only had 2 prizes right? There's no special mods or items like the Juggernaut event?  Just double checking just in case, lol.  Given I like small events like this since you can get them done fast.

there's a drop table that includes the four slash mods - and an enormous amount of trash

With the amount of grind this game delivers, the game starts to look like a job lol

that's not a good thing. it's not necessary, and it's not excusable. it's insulting
