  1. I'm more saying attaching the Kuva Hek's Alt-Fire to it really, minus the alt-fire being a full-mag-dump. The Corinth was my favourite Shotgun since it released, so I was really excited when I saw it was getting Primed... then when I discovered the Prime ditches the shell reload I was like "Oh come on, that's like, one of the defining features and why I like it so much!". I was event saltier about the Prime when it first came out, saying it looked like a toy, and that they just ruined it for everyone who liked the original - I've mellowed out now, don't think those things so much or at all, and I don't mind the Prime *so* much anymore, it's a good gun, I just find myself lamenting that it isn't exactly what I wish it was every time I use it. I don't even watch Content Creators, so I wouldn't know if they were dunking on it. Incarnons for things with Alt Fires is something I agree would be nice. I too have been quietly hoping for a Corinth adapter... hopefully we get some adapters for things with alt fires in the future... I just fired up the game to check and... not really. It seems more lever-action than pump-action Has magazine reload instead of single-shell Only one firing mode, no alt fire The closest things in the game currently to the HL2 shotgun in my eyes are the Corinth (because it's basically just a plain pump action shotgun) and the Kuva Hek (purely because it also has the goofy multi-barrel alt fire, it's not much similar in any other way)
  2. That would be the ideal, but I feel like that'd step on the toes of both the original and the prime - as would simply buffing the stats of the original. I can't see DE buffing the original, because it'd just devalue the Prime (although to be fair, a variant might do the same even if it functioned different, I guess). My mindset was that with the Prime existing, an alternate Variant would have to do something to distinguish itself beyond just stat differences, but I suppose we have stuff like the Braton Vandal + Prime that already exist as multiple variants with just stat differences, so maybe an upheaveal of the Alt Fire isn't necesary. I'd still personally like it though, because *pyow* Huh. Fair point. I specifically recall there being upheaval over the Opticor Vandal, because people were excited to see it be a thing, then were disappointed when it turned out it was so different from the regular Opticor. I'm sure I recall an official DE statement on it that was to the effect of "We know some people are disappointed by the Opticor Vandal, but we wanted it to be a sidegrade rather than a replacement for the original, and this is what we intend to do with other alternate variants going forward". Seems though you're right, even if I'm remembering correctly, they haven't stuck to it, huh?
  3. It's not really talked about as much now since the Prime is pretty old, but the change to the reload with the Prime was a pretty common complaint about it when it came out. The unique things about the Corinth are its alt-fire and its one-by-one reload (though we've had a few things that feature the latter since the Corinth - Felarx, for one), and the Prime dropped one of those things, the reload. For me, that reload was just as much a defining thing as the Alt Fire is, if not even more defining, which is why I was a bit disappointed by the Prime. I still like it, I just like the original even more! There are some Vandals that are Tenno - Lato and Imperator for one but that's semantics - Prisma would probably be a more appropriate than Vandal, but the idea is just for a Variant, regardless of what the variant name is. I believe it was said around the release of the Opticor Vandal that their design ethos on non-Prime variants going forward (not just Vandals, that's my brain in the wee hours of the morning for you) was for them to offer something different gameplay wise to their originals as a sidegrade rather than a direct upgrade. My original hope with the Prime was that it'd just be "Corinth but with a stat increase", which it ended up not being, because the behaviour of the alt-fire was tweaked (though I'm personally not bothered by this), and the unique at the time, but still pretty rare nowadays reload was swapped out for something completely different and unlike the original, but instead the same as most other guns. I do still like the Prime, but I actually prefer to use the original because of the reload system. My idea with this suggestion was for it to be a Variant that: Makes everyone taken care of, or at least better taken care of than they are currently: if the Airburst is the most important defining factor of the Corinth to someone, they can use the Prime for their Corinth upgrade. If the reload system was the most important thing, then they can use this suggested variant instead. Fits with the supposed new ethos of Variant weapons: This suggested variant would drop the AoE capability secondary fire of the Original and Prime for an even stronger focused damage secondary fire, which I think fits the current idea of what a non-Prime Variant should be - it'd offer a twist on the original that has different use cases, without just being a strict upgrade, as the lack of AoE would make it worse for purposes where you'd want AoE. I wouldn't advocate for it to be a statistical upgrade to the Prime, or to change the Prime into this proposal either. Makes it even more of a love letter to classic video game shotguns: Perhaps it's just my personal perception, but the Corinth to me has always felt like a bit of a love letter to the arcadey Shotguns in games of old. It feels uniquely punchy and "videogamey", so I think a Variant of it that doubles down on this by being even more like a classic game shotgun (the Half Life/Half Life 2 SPAS-12, with its infamous nonsensical double-barrel alt-fire) makes for a fun basis for a Variant. Of course, is a bit of personal wish fulfillment: A shotgun like the Half Life shotgun in Warframe is something I crave, so of course I'd like to suggest it. The Kuva Hek has a similar alt-fire, and the Regular Corinth has the amazing sound design and feel-to-use, but nothing has both so neither fully scratches the itch - so of course I'd like to suggest something that marries the two into my ideal gun.
  4. I think it's a well known thing that a lot of us Corinth Fans felt let down by the Corinth Prime back when it released, so I thought I'd throw out the suggestion for some unique properties for a hypothetical Corinth Vandal Prisma: Magazine Size increased to 8 from the regular Corinth's 5: Just because 8 is a sweet spot that makes the current Corinth comfy. Given another suggestion I'll make later in this post, raising it even higher might be warranted, but 8 seemed like a fair amount. Same single-shell reload system as Corinth, as opposed to the Corinth Prime's Magazine. Increased Reload speed: To balance out the higher mag capacity, but the total time to reload from empty on an Unnmodded Prisma should end up being the same as an Umodded Regular Corinth Replacement Alt-Fire: Double Shot: Secondary no longer fires Airburst projectiles, but instead fires a regular shot akin to the primary fire, only it's one shot strength of two and inflicts a forced Stagger or Big Stagger, but at the cost of 2 ammo, 30%~40% more Recoil, and a longer delay between the double blast and the following shot. This should be accompanied with an appropriately even meatier sound effect and the animation for firing having a notable amount more kickback. Slight increase to fire rate: Somewhere between the unprimed and Prime variants. Other stat improvements that aren't already mentioned here would also be good, to make it a slight improvement over Unprimed Corinth, but not statisically better than Corinth Prime. Most importantly, keep the Corinth sound effects: the perfection of the Corinth's sound design cannot be overstated. It should sound just like the Regular Corinth, in every way, only with an even meatier shotgun blast noise for the new seocondary fire. Yes, this is basically asking for a Corinth Vandal that's the Half Life Shotgun, which is very much the point. It's at least what I hoped the Prime variant of the Corinth would be, but I was sadly let down there. The Kuva Hek scratches the itch of a double blast alt fire, but it doesn't have the amazing, punchy sound design of the Corinth, and it's mag-fed, which are both big letdowns. A Corinth Vandal like suggested here would be cool, fit well for the suggestion of Vandals nowadays as "the standard variant with a twist" with the alt fire I've suggested, and also I think maybe satisfy some among us that felt let down by the mag-reload of the Corinth Prime
