  1. I'm not really sure what category this best fits in, so I'll stick to general.
Basically, I don't think the way vehicle launchers are implemented as gear equips is as smooth or ideal as it could be. They take up space on your gear wheel, which isn't as big of a deal now that it's not limited to so few slots, but it's still not great for several reasons:

    1. Using a hotkey is encouraged with vehicles, since it makes the launch more instantaneous. It speeds up runs, it means you have a better panic button to escape, etc.
    2. You can only hotkey the first twelve slots. That's more than enough for a lot of people, but some run with a lot of gear items that they don't want to unequip or re-equip all the time.
    3. The first slots are more easily accessible, which means you'd probably want the stuff you're not hotkeying to be there. So you can get to it faster with the full wheel.
    4. This means your vehicle launchers, if you want to hotkey them (encouraged by the way they deploy), are kind of in the way of what seems to be the most intuitive and sensible layout.
    5. Most of the keys on the left side of the keyboard, around WASD, are already used by the game anyway. So individually keybinding vehicles means moving existing binds further out of reach, or putting the vehicle binds on the right side of the keyboard. This may not be a big deal, but I find having to reach for binds or take a hand off the mouse for a bind is really only useful for stuff that isn't going to be used in combat (or at least in combat that could reasonably kill you... pulling out a synth scanner amongst low level enemies doesn't count, for example).

I think a great change would be another "gear" wheel for vehicle selection. The arsenal already groups vehicles together, now, with the K-Drive and Archwing together. Why not make a second wheel (currently it would only need two sections) for vehicle launchers? I propose the Z key for the default bind of this wheel. Z for zoom-zoom.

For example, hit Z and swipe the mouse up to equip your Archwing. Hit Z and swipe the mouse down to equip your K-Drive. Those directions seem pretty logical, chekchek? Even if many more vehicles are added, I have a hard time seeing you as needing to equip more than four at a time (if that, and four dedicated vehicle slots is better than those taking up four of your general gear slots and adding to the clutter) and diagonals aren't hard to manage, either. You can easily do up to four slots while staying both quick and accurate with your wheel, it's only once you get into higher numbers that you really need to worry about slowing down to make sure you hit the right section.

The option could always be added to add hotkeys to these slots, similarly to the first gear slots. That way the people who really want to have individual keybinds for each of their vehicles still get their way. Or I mentioned picking which vehicles you had on the wheel if it ever got to the point there were enough vehicles to need that... you could always make it so if you only have one vehicle equipped it doesn't even bring up the wheel, just acts like the hotkeys do now. It's a very flexible system.

TL;DR: I think that vehicle launchers should have their own dedicated gear wheel opened by the Z key, because even if (and in some ways, especially if) more vehicles are added that system removes a lot of clutter from your general gear wheels and hotkeys, while retaining nearly all of the speed and accuracy.

  2. I went into the plains, did the first location and got Nakak to do her stuff. She made a comment about asking Konzu, or maybe I should talk to Konzu. So I left the plains.

Konzu doesn't have anything to say. Neither does Nakak. Neither does Onkko.

Looked up some videos and saw there were multiple parts to the plains, but when I go back onto the plains it does not work. Nothing triggers. It's totally broken and, as far as I can tell... can't be continued.

EDIT: Looking at the post two above mine, I think we have the same issue. I didn't interpret it the way he did though. So the quest thinks I'm done and triggered something that's supposed to come at the end... but I didn't get the BP?

  3. Well, I'm back (for the time being, at least) after a rather long hiatus brought on by real life. It tends to do that.
Due to changes with the forums, I am not certain how well updating the index is going to work. I started to do that just now, and some of the categories in the first post went smoothly enough. However, the link that is supposed to take you to the second post doesn't seem to be working right, and just opens the topic in a new tab. I'll be fiddling with it more when I get the chance, but for the time being updating the index will be on hold.

What I may end up doing is copying everything into a local word document so that I can fix the formatting there, without worrying about how the forum parses things. Then I can copy it over to the topic and overwrite the stuff that the forums messed around with. I have done that before. We'll see.

  4. Is the tile-set really BS?

I was able to chase down the nullifier pretty quickly.

I actually had the problem of being AHEAD of it at times.

Yes, it is. There's one tile that has a clear wall-run shortcut, but it's impossible to stay on the wall for more than a few meters because half of the time it doesn't seem to register the wall and you just drop. It's the one that you can't just jump through because a vent blows you down, but running along the walls is fine. I've done it before, I've seen people do it before, but for some reason it hasn't been cooperating since... I don't know what update it was, but the collision was sent to hell.

There's another tile where the nullifier jumps across the tops of some cargo containers, but whenever I try to follow him it would again act as if I fell. So I'd have to go around the edge of the room on the actual catwalk ruins, which always made me fall behind. It's not a huge tile, so it didn't annoy me as much and didn't cost much... but their pathing seriously sucks.

I was ahead of it quite a bit, too, but when you're limited to melee and swarmed by MOAs and crewmen doing their best to get between you and the nullifier... that doesn't really help. The main problem I had was that entering the particular end tile was a death sentence. I couldn't even get into the little teleport room ahead of it, because no matter what I did to try and get up to that damn catwalk it teleported me back to the tile entrance. The very few times I even made it to that door were when I was practically kissing the Nullifier's a**... and then there was usually a mob of normal enemies to stop me from following him in, because somehow he can run straight through them and I can't. In fact, I couldn't even jump over them because that would teleport me back to the entrance.

My computer isn't the best, and I do have a little bit of lag sometimes. But if the slightest bit of lag can screw over a tileset that badly, it's a problem. I don't have that degree of trouble anywhere else in the game.

  5. There is a significant difference between a challenge and complete BS.

In this case it was a challenge

Uhhh... Toxic, why are you being toxic? Your opinion isn't fact. I'm with Invalid on this one. Nullifier target? Fine. Way too fast for their own good? Somewhat less fine, but manageable easily enough. That particular tileset? Total bullsh*t.

Why? One of the tiles that the exit room spawns off of is buggy as hell. I kid you not, every single time that room spawned for a Nullifier, I was guaranteed to lose... unless the Nullifier backed himself into a corner before reaching it and I caught him easy. That did happen once. But I would follow right behind the annoying bastard, making the same jumps he did... and without fail, it would act as if I fell and move me back to the entrance to the tile. I tried using both Excal and Zephyr to make a jump up to the catwalk above, and skip that whole section... same thing. There was no way around it. I was stuck at 2/3 runs for probably an hour until I gave in and went public... it's somewhat harder for the bastard to escape from four Tenno, I just hate going public because I usually end up with idiots.

Eris' infested corpus ships are just horrible in general, and need a lot of work on DE's part to make them not a crapfest. They made what would have been a nice challenge yet another questionable decision that makes me all the more cynical and skeptical of their intelligence.

  6. I really don't think he's such a good boss. He had way too much health, even focusing solely on weakpoints. It took me literally half an hour to solo him for my first kill. And two tries. His little spine volley one-hits me as Nova (and I do not build my Nova particularly squishy), lost all four of my revives getting him down to about 25% health left.

Then I went Volt, hopped on the rocks and pipes around the walls, and threw up electric shields when needed to block spine volleys. Then it was just a matter of grinding down that absurd health pool--never could kill me. Brought a status-build Quanta Vandal cause it's super ammo-efficient, with Wraith Twin Vipers to quickly kill his little friends. That managed to do around 58 damage per shot per tick... and multishot meant multiple hits per tick... but by far the most effective thing I found was chucking Glaive Prime built for one bounce at the ground right in front of him. About half the time, it manages to bounce up under him and hit the weak-spot for 1-2k damage. Or you can just chuck it at the other weak points...

Fat bastard seems to be almost totally immune to procs, though. Through-out the entire thing, my 91%-status-chance-per-second Quanta Vandal proc-ed Viral once, and Radiation three or four times. And the 91% figure, testing it on other stuff, seems pretty darn accurate--just about every little guy got a proc almost instantly, or at least within the first few ticks.

If my friends want me to help them with the Tac Alert when they get on... I'm going to make sure and finish leveling up Mesa first -_-

  7. The most likely scenario here is that the Juggernaut in general will drop these things, and from what we are told he will be a "mini boss" encounter like the Manic or Bursa. The Juggernaut Behemoth is a "main boss" encounter just for the event. I don't think community should get all hot and bothered about the cost/rarity of the pheromone pods until we see what the situation is going to look like after this enemy is introduced into regular gameplay.

How is that not something to get hot and bothered about? They've said it'll be like the Manic or Bursa. We know how often Manics spawn and how terrible their drop rates are. Even if the Juggernauts have a guaranteed drop for something, which I doubt, they're also much more dilute than the Manics... there's only one thing people want from Manics, but four or five or whatever from the Juggernauts.

That, plus their uselessness (I've seen them in action, they're pretty worthless in most situations)... I'm just going to quote Acaelus cause that list is absolutely right. Once again, I have no idea what DE could possibly have been thinking...

It literally has every problem that makes it an undesirable item:

    - Drops from a tough enemy.

    - Drops from a rare enemy.

    - Low drop rate.

    - Requires rare blueprint.

    - Requires several mats.

    - Is not infinite use.

    - Has short range.

    - Has short duration.

    - Is outclassed by warframe powers.

    - Is not very practical against more than one enemy type.

  8. I'm just gonna put this here before my responses, cause it's getting to be a real problem: please stop posting links with entry tags at the end of them. Half of the time it takes me to the wrong post, but even when they don't it just makes the links longer. I haven't run into the character limit in the index yet, since I had to divide the post due to a link limit, but I'd like to avoid it if possible. Thanks.

@Ix3FLCL: The arguments about the meta of such slots have some weight, but it would still definitely add some variety and level of freedom. I like it, cause the full "freedom" of loadout we have now isn't actually all that rewarding anyway. Anywho, added.

@Akuma_Asura_: Added. It's actually with the melee weapons instead of the mechanics category cause it didn't really seem to fit into any mechanic subcategories and is melee-specific, so I think it works. Anywho, interesting thought, although they'd have to be a bit more spectacular than your examples seem to be worth it, IMHO. Also, added Masamune. A channeling-designed weapon could be pretty nice.

@BarionyX: That is a very nice design, I really like it. It would be a nice addition, and I really love the art. He would be my favorite, easily.

@Vulmar: Kind of reminds me of my old Changeling frame... thought it's definitely different. Pretty cool. Added.

@Joenorthrup: I like it. Could certainly be interesting, although the Relays definitely need a looksie first. They're pretty laggy for a lot of us. The only time it isn't for me is when I go to the Pluto Relay and Ki'teer isn't there... only a few other players, most times. Added.

@Impact of Fate: Interesting, although there are a lot of light frames out there that do similar things. Added.

@Mofixil: Very, very nice. I'm not a fan of shotguns in general, I'm more of a sniper/DMR guy... but that looks like something I would use anyway, because it's just too cool. It's good to be thinking ahead and optimistic about the future of snipers/shotties, too. Added.

@badwolfdesi: A lot of people want cat-pets, but your post isn't really something that belongs in the index... nothing to index.

@Hunter126: Done. Tempus is a nice name, and much less used than Chronos :P Coolio

@Ferrius: Basically what Hunter already said, make a topic and link it here. This isn't a place for the ideas to be directly posted themselves.

@Camaclue42: I... have no comment. Added.

@Arkinvas: So, changed your name? Cool. Anywho, since you just renamed/edited the topic, the old link still goes to the appropriate topic. I just needed to change the caption I gave the link, and move it to the new letter's section--no new link required :) Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  9. This guy looks sick. Lightsmith has some good points, but I disagree with a few. He's totally right about Geko Palm, and Scaly Skin would need to be balanced carefully.

I love the idea of the camo, but Lightsmith has a good point in regards to Loki's superiority in that regard. However, the way you have it described, where being static is free or at least extraordinarily reduced in cost... I disagree with Light's comments about how Sentinels and Kubrows already do that. Shade, at least, decloaks when you fire. But Loki and them don't decloak for attacking, so I don't think this would either... making it a great ambush skill. I dig it.

  10. Please, be specific if you have criticisms. If you don't like something, explaining why is more helpful than blanket statements of discontent. As far as the solar map is concerned, nothing concrete has been announced yet, so any discussion is pure speculation.

I always find it laughable when someone from DE comes in and says something like this. It just shows that you didn't read what the OP wrote. Except that the two things you pulled out weren't at the start, or even next to one another... "Blanket statements of discontent" covers... maybe 40% of the post, at worst?

I dunno about you, Drew, but I'd say his comments about:

       -Bows and Angstrum sharing ammo

-Daikyu losing its charge (don't have Daikyu myself, but I've seen several people saying this)

-Using weapons to make other weapons (when said weapons are worse, and just mastery fodder) is a pretty common complaint

-What little's been said on node reduction by you at DE is just speculation? Sorry, but reduction to 20 nodes is damn bad/scary.

-Syndicate quests and other bottle-necks is pretty specific. He's not the only one who steers clear of them once he's gotten enough rep.

-The comment about Galatine not hitting the full model length without equipping Reach is extremely specific

-He brought up host migration causing a loss of progress and resource acquisition up to that point. Another specific issue.

...are pretty specific, and if we have to explain why those last two in particular are problems... then everyone saying the self-destruction is real is totally right.

I have liked and used that page for some years Drew, thats what i'm saying, the even that included QUANTA vandal was never on facebook. Never mentioned it being available through facebook news.

I can confirm that an awful lot slips through the cracks on your social media stuff. It's honestly kind of useless, because of it.

I also think it's hilarious that the two specifics you pulled out to acknowledge were the ones you had (ineffective) counters for. I suppose I'm a cynic, and I shouldn't assume this is necessarily your goal, but it really sounds like you're trying to discredit the whole post by pulling out what you want to and generalizing the rest as "blanket statements" with no explanation, specifics, or reasoning. That really won't fly on the internet--there are always people who look too closely and actually read things. Even if it isn't your goal to be condescending, that's what you (and quite frankly, most people at DE) come across as pretty regularly. It's one of the main reasons a large portion of the older player base (myself and my entire Shadow Clan included) is extremely bitter and even hostile towards you all.

  11. Welcome to every gaming community ever, where there will undoubtedly be elitist a**hats who believe they are carrying the team even when bringing a useless frame, and no good weapons... none of which are over level 8.

One of my friends gets like that. He isn't always like that, which is why I'm still friends with him. But sometimes me and others just have to brutally bring him back down to Earth. It's a joke. He thinks that bringing a level 7 Limbo, with no primary weapon, a level 6 Synoid Gammacor, and an unranked Jat Kittag to a T4 survival qualifies as carrying the team. None of that with potatoes. He was literally no help until he hit level 10 with Limbo, but even then he was basically unmodded and Cataclysm was not as much help as it would be with a properly built and leveled Limbo. After we hit Wave 7 or so, we got tired of reviving him and let him die. He wasted all four of his Limbo revives on that match and then had the audacity to get mad at us because now he "can't level Limbo anymore today. This is the thanks I get for protecting us?" Cue outraged uproar.

*cough* failed to shield thy names from shame mate

Read the OP, dude. He specifically said that the people in the squad list were the people he ended up with, and thus not the shamed parties. Their names really don't mean much. They weren't even there to witness the asininery.

  12. Alad V resurfaces after the event, thanking the Tenno for their efforts, clean from the infestation. He claims to have separated the infestation from himself, in a Jekyll and Hyde fashion, where the infestation retained a copy of most of his memories and intelligence, but with an evil intent. Alad V also claims that the cure gave him "surprising unforeseen side effects ". He is seen with a proto-armor of some kind, wielding Tenno-like powers and fighting the infested with ease. He says he fears what Infested V could do with his knowledge and claims regret to what he unleashed unto the System. Small event or tactical alert to prepare for the next big one.

...wat? Since when does immunity to the infestation equal proto-armor and Tenno powers? That has nothing to do with the Void. And the void is pretty well confirmed to be the source of the Tenno's powers... they being void-scarred humans an' all.

I'm not averse to Alad being a Tenno supporter/good guy... more or less. He should have learned his lesson by now, quite frankly. But he is no hero. Might lead a syndicate of other cured infested people... maybe his cure doesn't get rid of the infestation so much as it does neutralize it--stop it from spreading and cutting it off from the hivemind influence. That would be interesting. Would be a way to get us an infested themed syndicate, too.

  13. After all that, I get no weapons? Not a single one, I wasted all that time for nothing. All because I did not do all 12 missions for alad v?

Yep. It was right in the rules that you had to fully support a single side, and have a net +4 in their favor. It's not DE's fault if you didn't read the clearly posted rules. I'm not sure why you expected to get weapons if you didn't even read enough of the rules to know what you were doing.

DE's fault for making this boring and bad design.

...really? Most people seem to like this event a lot more than most past events. I'd have to say it's my favorite so far. Although I missed a couple, so can't speak for them so much. It's your fault for being so picky. It wasn't boring for a lot of us. It wasn't badly designed, not really. More variety would've been welcome but what was there was good.

Stop whining and blaming others for your failure to read the rules and be aware of the win conditions. There is no one to blame but yourself. It was very clearly posted in several places, and had indicators in the game.

  14. It shows you how many battles you need for an invasion. It shows you how many invasions you have, and what your status is. The only glitch I ran into was having the bar go outside of the hud, through the wall of the Liset, and into the space beyond. Because it was showing like... 15/3? Yeah...

Have you also taken into account the match that glitched out and counted for 4? That was pretty widely commented on/documented. That put me well over for Alad, since I was already at 4/4, and let me get some loot runs for Nef in. Everything was extremely straightforward and simple if you paid attention, and a bugged UI should have only been a minor problem.

If you had a glitch, it should have been obvious due to all the posted rules (it was on the forums, and that really can't glitch) and you really should have been doing something about it before now when the awards have been given out and you just seem like an opportunistic whiner. Blaming something you did nothing to fix, bring attention to, or work around... kind of lame.

  15. -snip-

You compared Alad to Tsukiyama Shuu... Alad is Golem confirmed, will eat us and freak out over how exquisite a taste the Tenno bring to his gloriously over-sized palette.

Seriously, though, Alad leading an infested syndicate would make my day. Maybe even if his cure doesn't completely cure the infestation, it can sever them from it's corrupting, hive-mind influence? But nobody trusts them, and nobody tolerates them--except the Tenno, because we helped him find the cure so we know something about how it should probably work... Regor even indicates Alad was on to something. Then, cause Alad was the first one to be cured, had rank and status before, etc... he knows how to be a leader, in theory, so he ends up the leader of this outcast syndicate and makes them ProfitableTM again. Boom.

  16. Is it just me, or did anyone else read this post in a Tyl Regor voice?

It's not just you. That voice... so smooooooth. And while the sound team deserves applause and kudos, too, y'might be being just a bit too modest Mr. Ninja. If the delivery of the lines is bad, ain't nothing that can save it. And Tyl Regor has some damn nice lines.

  17. This is Malachite. She hatched out of the egg given at the start of this event! I decided to take her to Mercury to give her some training, being a new Kubrow and all. But look at this! Barely more than a pup, and she's already kicking &#!!

    xpAnose.jpg

Or, well, biting it. It's probably the meatiest part of them degenerate clones.

  18. I'm not sure what the little shimmy they do with their arms is... but yeah, it'd be nice if we could either save them or shoot them to put them out of their misery. I always put a few headshots in the guy to pretend I've done just that, but he's fine...

I see you killed him at the end of the video, not sure how you managed that. Maybe it's been updated since last I tried, or maybe it has something to do with the weapons I've tried it with. None of it has worked, though.
