Is there an actual reason that Infested "drop ammo"? Have they been eating out of a weapons factory?

I still don't understand why we pickup ammo and energy and health and mods off the ground like homeless people looking for food.

It's been long enough, I'm pretty sure we need mechanics that can be micromanaged, and not left to RNG or that make us stop paying attention to the game and jump like rabbits on amphetamines all round the map mopping up stuff.

What like...An ammo pile? Where you go to restore your ammo or something?

Buff base holster/weapon swap rate. Add mechanics that reward swapping.

I realize I already gave my opinion on ammo but this is a separate issue, imho I think weapon swapping should be near instant, and weapon swapping speed mods should be changed altogether (it should be so fast no one in their right mind would need a mod for that) Its just not a fun or balancing mechanic.

Ferrox cannot fire mid charge and angstrum is not hitscan weapon, far from that. By your logic Daikyu is not uniqe too coz bows exist and spearguns.

Being hitscan is irrelevant, you clearly said that making it holdable would turn it into a bow. Those are your words not mine. Daikyu is unique because it has a lot of stats and mechanics unheard of for a bow. High damage, low crit, high status, very long charge. I'm just saying that opticor isn't unique, it has nothing in it's charge mechanic that we haven't seen on other rifles by now.

Didn't PD2 also more or less have subcategories of weapons that had roughly the same drop rate? (ie. 7.62 rifle, 5.56 rifle, DMR rifle).

Yea, I thought about mentioning that, but it would have diluted my point, they were more like "soft categories", as they never got mentioned in game, but each weapon was individually tweakable, they just had similar drop rates because let's be honest, neither ovk nor de would ever go through a list like that and decide unique drop rates for each individual weapon. But at the same time, there were weapons in a specific soft category that had better ammo than others, despite being very similar. I had a fun time figuring out which ones had the best drop rates.

  5. It would be way simpler to just do it like payday 2, where each weapon has its own ammo pickup count. This would likely be initially decided through guessing by de, and tweaked later if issues come up. Makes everything simpler, no categories needed. ^_^

No, the gun is uniqe, if you changed it to bow charge mechanic you would just have another bow.

Yea it's unique! Like the ferrox! I mean uhh...oh, partial charges, like the angstrum! Err uhh.... It's not unique.....

  7. The word wrap for those equations is deadly on mobile...

Anyway j don't understand what you mean by "why maiming strike is worked by bloodrush". I'm really left to guess on my own there...But I assume you mean why is maiming strike multiplied by blood rush? Or why aren't they the same? Please elaborate.

It doesn't turn into, it combines. Thats how Nuclear energy is produced

Nuclear fission energy is produced when the nucleus of an atom is split...And it creates radiation...Not toxin...In addition, adding an electric current to a toxin doesn't make it an acid...AND I was referring to the fact that you can add fire then toxin to make your CLEARLY ELECTRIC current cause radiation poisoning AND some other mysterious toxin poisoning at the same time....No...0 logic. The same can be said about how ignis can deal rad damage, or blast.... A flame causing damage akin to a shockwave.... None of this is possible. FFS you can change your energy color whenever you want...Not only is that not a simple task in many cases, like Nova's molecular prime, for instance, it would change the effectiveness of that energy. Say ignis, you could add some material to the gas or whatever flammible it uses, yes, but it would change the composition of whatever its burning, which would likely change the heat at which it burns, flammibility, density etc etc...

You might think that there's some futuristic material that does these things without changing important characteristics, and if you're thinking that, congrats. That's the point. I came at it from a technical angle and it made no sense, because there doesn't have to be a technical angle. It's a goddamn videogame, gameplay and balance should ALWAYS go before realism without exception. Technical angles can be fun, but a game run by realism and not gameplay is the dumbest game ever. That being said though, a slash ignis would be op...I think de should look into it, but if they think it's not ok balance wise then whatever I guess

You say that in a thread where the original post is someone basically stating that the current balance system set by the developers is bad and needs to change to something they personally feel would be better. You really know how to make your hypocrisy show don'tcha?

Didnt mean to sound so hostile, mb. I was only talking about your final claim, that if they wanted to balance a weapon they would only do it to the base weapon. As for this thread, you're right, idk why I care, but I do like winds of purity, even though I don't use it. Being able to equip it on dex furis would probably make me want to again. I don't believe he said anything about the system as a whole though...

By default E is for melee, whether you have it in your hand or not.

So that wouldn't work very well.

However I believe MESA should have a quick secondary instead of a quick melee (because... You know... Gunslinger and stuff... She even has a passive bonus for not having a melee)

Gotta be honest. A quick draw button would be EPIC...But that's not gonna happen because complainers....Maybe double tap switch weapons, but that would only add to tower of clunkiness we call (de calls) weapon switching.

Single fire "option" would be a fantastic addition to the spread fire. It would be more or less a side grade to the Rakta.

What... ._. I meant that you're lobbying to make the entire identity of cernos prime an optional thing. If the primary fire became a single shot with the full power of the spread, it would just be like every other bow, with the option to do the very thing that makes the cernos prime the cernos prime, which, by the way, everyone here seems to hate the spread so who would even use that option? Not to mention it would become the single most powerful bow.....Ever. it's damage potential is far above any other bow...It's just that right now, you need to be point blank to use it....Which you're trying to change.... It just seems like a bad idea to me 😕 like if you turned the buzzlok into a hitscan, non-homing soma prime copy with the option in the appearance tab to turn it back to the low-damage buzzlok. Not exactly the same, but you get the point, basically, TL;DR: don't turn a wrench into another screwdriver when you already have 10 screwdrivers.

  12. Um...I disagree? First, if anything, the alt fire should be single shot, not the primary Imo... Second, I ASSUME you want this single fire to be equal to the damage of all the spread fire shots combined, and imho that sounds dumb...No offense. Cernos has 3 variants, de decided to make a third variant that's actually interesting and not just Paris prime 2.0, and what I'm hearing in this thread is "how about instead of that, we DONT do that, and instead add an option for that! That way we can all have another boring bow that does the same thing as all the others, and we can ignore de's attempts to make it more interesting!" ...Sorry, just calling it how I see it....

Except if they did that, they would create a bias for one handed weapons, which goes directly against their vision for how they should balance the game. It would also not be something able to be included in the UI easily, so that would make any such increase be vague and players would be ill-informed of the bonuses dual wielding provided. So no, I may not know for certain, but it goes against what they have been doing all this past 2 years for weapon rebalances so that makes it fairly probable on what the outcome is going to be. You may also notice that they buffed the glaive prime specifically for this dual wield feature, compared to making it a stat increase only applied with the combo. If they are going to buff a weapon, they would do so to the base weapon, and not as an arbitrary tack-on to a dual wield combo system.

You've made it painfully clear you don't understand the concept of perfect imbalance. Please inform yourself before making audacious claims of how a developer would balance their game.

  14. First I have to ask, you're sure you set the elements in the right order? Second, you don't have any embers or Frost's or such messing with your element combo with the #1 augment? Also anything else that you're using to change the element combo....Like electric shield...? Forgive me if I seem skeptical, I haven't noticed anything like this and it's very easy to forget the types of things that could change this (non-bug wise)

Then if that is the case the ui needs to be updated to become more accurate in its representation. According to what your saying having 100% status on any weapon that has multi-shot is a false claim to %.

Even more than you think. Status chance is actually divided by the pellet count, UNLESS you have 100% status chance before multishot mods are added. In other words, if you have a gun with a 90% chance with split chamber and it fires two pellets, each has a 45% chance to cause a status chance. Yea, it's weird and all in the wiki if you want to read up on it.

Yeah, but the weapons I'm talking about are the pure elemental ones, the ones that dont fire a solid object. Like a Flamethrower or Electric Gun. Take the Amprex for example. How would you implement a physical thing being fired from it without it making 0 sense. You can't randomly put razorblades in a weapon that only shoots lightning. If you know what I'm trying to say (:

You also can't turn lightning into radiation and poison..... Think about it... Electron flow.... Turning into a toxin....Just as ridiculous. It's a game. Realism should come second.

  17. No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no NO! NEVER change a weapon to be like that ever again. None of you realise the string became crap the moment it got that nerf. I sincerely hope de never does that again. The strun (wraith)'s reload time doubled when that happened, and I know that wouldn't entirely happen to the Tigris, but de likes their clunk, and wouldn't put it past them. (See: weapon swap speeds)

  18. You should know there's no reason to ever go strength on limbo right now, unless you're using rift torrent. Cataclysm's 10% damage is not based on power strength, and the damage it does effect is hopeless to try to kill anything worthwhile with.

  19. I disagree. Gameplay should come before lore. Good lore wraps itself around gameplay to make it look as if the gameplay was shaped around the lore. However, DE seems to like doing it the other way around when it comes to limbo *cough* cipher hacks are still untouchable, even in cataclysm *cough* for reason gameplay-wise at all.

    Hmmm....

What if there were Ducat Puzzle Relics found in the Void? They would be found in containers and lockers and if you do not get all the parts, you get no ducats.

Here is the idea of how they would work-

You go to the Void mission besides DEF or Intercept and you search for 5 parts to a Ducat Puzzle Relic. If you get all 5 parts, it turns into a relic that gives a certain amount of Ducats. You can refine them for more ducats in the relic area using traces or just dissolve them into the value they show at Mission End.

Would this be something some players would like or would they crymoan that it detracts from the game in some way?

I think that would be great

  21. 2 hours ago, ChargeBeam said:

They're not meant to be easy to get. They're to fight the surplus of prime items one might have.

Yes, I remember that. But due to the new void system, we no longer have a surplus of Prime parts.

  22. 2 hours ago, Volinus7 said:

Well, in old void you can treat people with your keys to show hospitality, or squad can go round robin key share to make everyone equal. Now? Go dutch :p

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Going_Dutch

Btw I'm too lazy to calculate which one is better, either 1key 4-12+ parts(don't forget to multiply number of members for total output per key) or 4relics 4parts with probably higher average ducats per part at the cost of traces grinding.

Oh thanks, had no idea what you were saying. But anyway I wouldn't multiply the parts for the new system, since you HAVE to input a key for a part. It's basically 1:1, but in the old system you could get a ton of parts from one key, and whoever didn't use a key got it for free, no key usage required. But either way, I just want a new, different way to get ducats. The only problem I have with the prime part system is how stupid traces are.

    So update.
The List Worked - was able to find the target and do the mission.

I forgot to add no abilities can be used when capturing.

On top of that it ends up being a riven for BRONCO.
Not AK Bronco but an ordinary Bronco. A gun so bad - the likely use rate for the gun is likely lower than that of SEER.

Considering the amount of trouble is required to unlock - you would think at minimum it would be exclusive to one of the high end guns like Lex, or add 999% damage to bronco garunteed.

Bronco a short range pistol shotgun that does  1 /10 th the damage of Lex, has less ammo then Lex, and 1/100th the range of Lex.

LOL. Sorry dude I rly feel bad for you. But then again, exact same thing happened to me..... I still disagree though, finding a simaris target is easy, I've used that list for months, this is Warframe, you need a third party site to know almost anything.
