  1. true and real. it's also kind of crazy for how stellar this game looks the ai is probably like a decade or two dated.
  2. wondering the same thing. waiting for collision/snag fixes.
  3. yes you are correct and I was incorrect. trying to recall 9-10 yr old memories, they might be distorted a bit. I should have said 'I started playing after Ember P was released and before Rhino P was released.'
  4. I'm going to comment on the title of the OP cuz too lazy to read through everyone's discussion. some perspective- so I started playing Warframe (originally) on console then pc back when the only prime frame in the game was Ember (and ofc Excalibur for founders). Back then I think the only alternative to core in the game was archwing iirc or archwing was added a bit after I started. Anyway, the first (major) thing to happen in Warframe was the Second Dream quest. Warframe was and I still believe peaked at that point cuz you were playing the game you enjoyed (core) and it filled players with hope that it could grow the game to a better state of content. So I think most players believed that Warframe was gonna be (core) Warframe which would grow to more (core) content for players to enjoy. But... if you've been watching dev streams for many years and paying attention to the studio over the years you might have started to realize that Steve (the former creative director) had no idea what to do with the game or what direction to go. So he was always stressed and I guess eventually didn't really have a passion for the game anymore so I guess moving to Soulframe was best for him. Anyway (again), since DE was kind of lost on what to do with the game they started trying out ideas aka (other game modes) At first, it wasn't a big deal cus the focus remained around (core) and the other stuff started getting tacked on. Unfortunately this mindset has taken the game down the tracks of all kinds of different game modes. So the game is at a point now where it's basically diluted and polluted with different game systems which are no longer optional, they've become canon and mandatory for 'progression'. Side note- (most of these other games/modes were straight up ripped off from other games and slapped with a Warframe theme). Core systems which is the 'bread and butter' are being left in the past with no improvements. I could do a bit of ranting about old warframes, damage systems and ai, but this won't do anything. I assume the game is just gonna stay on the path of shiny new toy/grind. Some players will enjoy it and some will think to themselves 'this isn't Warframe anymore'. Who knows. 2 cents or w/e.
  5. Since DE is owned by Tencent the money will go to Tencent and Tencent decides what money is appropriated to DE. If Tencent owns majority stock in DE then Tencent owns everything that consists of DE and anything they produce. When a company owns majority stock they are in charge. Tencent could theoretically liquidate DE and close it's doors if they wanted.
  6. I'm wondering if this is purely just for profit margins based on Tencent scrutiny and greed or it's bait for newer players who don't know better. Me personally, not gonna buy a pack for 1 skin I want. Is that what DE expects? ppl to pay nearly 100 dollars for 1 or 2 items they may want?
  7. a limited time bundle for real money. so basically this package screams 'overpriced. also ppl who give us money are more important than other players so to honor them we're keeping this exclusive.' lmao.. (more plat) as a solution. plat is practically useless these days. you know.. my mom's boyfriend has to get a new muffler for his car. does he have to buy a new car just to get a muffler? just a thought
  8. Realistically it's not dying, it has plateaued for a few yrs or so now. It's not really a game for longtime players anymore and not really new ones either. Vets have collected and done everything and have to wait months for more content and newer players don't invest their time by making this their core game cuz the collection content is too daunting. Most ppl get burned out with the long grinds for so-so rewards so they walk away. This is a collection game, but the problem is no matter how much you collect it doesn't really improve or mean anything. You get some extra xp to reach a day cuz of MR, but this isn't that worth it. Putting aside the core gameplay that ppl enjoy, any of the newer systems or content just isn't that amazing for a lot of ppl imo. I've had hope and excitement before for what this game could be, but DE kind of fumbled the ball a bit. Very nice and fun game studio, design wise and business wise... not so much. Management and priority seems to be a big problem in DE.
  9. As a game like warframe which is heavily geared towards network multiplayer play it should have dedicated servers, but.. it won't. DE won't spend the money on it, if they could they would of done it years ago. Sorry for the bubble burst but this game will never get the core revamps it needs for the modern day. Heck, they won't even revamp the ai which is about a cpl decades outdated. Another bubble burst for improvements concerning Soul Frame.. Steve already confirmed they're using the same engine that Warframe is using in a twitter reply on his twitter. I don't expect much from this company anymore personally. I'll always give them kudos though for the core battle play of Warframe and the really well done art and sound.
  10. you just have to wait if you want a better experience. After playing the first quest I realized duviri is just unoptimized and buggy. so.. the coders have to optimize more, fix bugs, etc. this will take a bit. It's like when skyrim first launched, unoptimized and broken. But, after a while of optimizations and bug fixes skyrim runs really well now. even on lower hardware.
  11. There is a really big difference between Square Enix and Digital Extremes. From finance, management/team/employee size, talent. DE has shown what they're capable of. The game is a reflection of the company/studio.
