    play solo,

while rage-based tanky frames may dislike slowed enemies, literally all non tank frames(save for maybe octavia) enjoy it

I dont think any nerfs should ever be done to a frames kit without something being added to account for that loss. Im not happy reading this post. But there are those abilities.

Honestly the nova should play solo. Iv been those frames. I mostly enjoyed seeing novas in missions when i was a noob, but as time progressed, and her 4 has stayed the same for so long, its just unnecessary. Shes the frame you take to help low level peeps in missions and allow them to still feel like they are contributing, or when theres a frustrating sortie you dont really feel like having to try very hard to do. Nova was the reason we were able to deal with DE's nonsense enemy scaling and ridiculous insta kills for so long. She is appreciated. I understand why more people dont complain about her. But she is ridiculous at the same time. Her 1,2, and 3 could all use new mechanics, but no one wants them touched because her 4th makes up for any shortcomings those first 3 might have, which overshadowed by the 4th as they are, and gimmicky as the 3rd is, are seen as perfect and in no need of improvement.

    you're one of those guys.

Novas 4th is stupid. I hate playing with it. Unless i was running banshee for some reason and didnt want to die, or playing squishy nova herself, its unnecessary. It sucks being nidus or inaros and trying to fluff your ego by tanking ridiculous damage, and then nova nerfs everything in a 2 mile radius and now you suddenly wish the map was full of nullifiers.

Cc is my biggest pet peeve the way its implemented in warframe, but straight nerfs are disagreeable. It should never just be a straight nerf to a kit, there should always be something new or better that can be inplemented.

    Yeah, I kinda am.

I can't recall an instance of keeping an enemy under MC and having them be disarmed when it ran out. I assumed that this was so, but I can't think of a concrete instance when playing her (and I play her a lot).

Now I don't pay that much attention to my MC targets unless I run MF. I generally only run MF in survivals and usually plan for it (my default NyxP loadout is only Assimilate).

I've kept grineer heavies under MC for extended periods and haven't seen them disarmed. This would imply the chance is low or it doesn't happen. I can recall several instances of Nox units kept under MC for as many as six repetitions, but they usually succumb to teammates' fire eventually.

Dunno. I just ran a defense with NyxP and tried to keep a Hyekka master under MC as long as possible--which wasn't long (small map, zombie herder Nekros, trigger happy tenno). She did lose her weapon at one point, but it was also after getting hit with Chaos after MC ran out.

Dunno. I'm just personally looking for an instance of this happening. I can't think back and recall one, despite very extensive gameplay.

And if it were the case that mc didnt do this, i wouldnt be here. Im glad your confident in your own experiences, but nyxs passive is rng, so like with drop chances, everyone probably experiences it differently. I say probably, because there is no hard proof that some people just have beeter chances with rng than others. But if you were to cast mc and use assimilate to protect yourself, casting nothing else, mc would stip the target of their weapon after recasting it on them after x amount of times. Cast, decast, and recast if you feel so inclined. And on the low chamce that you are right, that means DE is capable of fixing mistakes theyve made with reworks, but since i have been playing, havnt noticed any difference in how mc isnt screwed over by the passive.

Not entirely true. You simply have to keep in mind how Nyx works.

I've kept the same Nox going through multiple MC's. It's not hard, but you have to keep timing between casting MC and Chaos in mind.

It's possible it might lose its weapon after MC wears off, but it will retain it until it wears off and another target is usually available--assuming you can keep track of it during the fight, which frequently isn't possible.

Actually, now that I sit here thinking about this, I can't remember a specific instance of MC causing its target to be disarmed. I usually don't pay that much attention to the ultimate fate of MC targets, since I regard them as another form of CC and I only use MF occasionally (generally in survivals). I have kept a single Nox unit under MC for six or so casts without them becoming disarmed, however.

What often happens is MC wears off and they either die to allied fire or get caught in a subsequent Chaos cast and are thereby disarmed. I'll have to watch this more closely to get a better idea of what is actually going on.

Regardless, if you're trying to make Nyx a pet class, you're going to run into difficulties, not the least of which is overzealous teammates hosing the MC unit down thereby sealing its fate no matter what you do. I don't view Nyx this way, so I don't agonize over what happens to MC targets. Ultimately, they're just more grist for the mill and there's always another one.

What is not entirely true? Are you trying to say that mind control is not affected by nyxs passive? Because you seem to be skirting around this without actually saying it while trying to spread education about the frame when thats not what was asked for. You must realize, especially when going on about your playstyle, that we are of two different mindsets.

Nyxs mind control is like nidus's parasitic link for me, in that ill keep linking the same heavy till they die.

And i see no problem with that or the way you do it. But yes, mind control is affected by the passive on its own.

  5. 6 hours ago, Sloan441 said:

Not really and DE probably assumes you know how to actually play Nyx.

    Basic Nyx tactics:

MC before casting Chaos. This assures that your MC target is still armed. This also assumes you're running Mind Freak. If not, then this is mostly irrelevant as enemy damage isn't that high compared to their health pool, especially at higher levels. The real utility is it gives enemies something else to shoot at, especially if it's close to Nyx.

If you happen to MC the wrong thing or recast Chaos before reacquiring an MC target thereby disarming it, then release the target and grab something else. You should be doing this frequently, especially if you're running MF. So, if you know you're about to cast Chaos, drop your MC target, reacquire, then cast Chaos.

If you play her enough, all this is second nature and you really don't think about it.

You can no longer count on using the same enemy with mc, thats why the grineer airships in the op arent shooting anymore, this should be obvious.

My favourite enemy was a grineer heavy gunner/leech eximus, because no matter the level, they would never die and served as a great decoy.

Mc can no longer target the same enemy several times without nerfing their weapon away randomly.

  6. Can she be a contortionist? Like she looks like a normal female, but takes one the afformentioned thicc shape when using the ult? Also, more like nidus, have her need to build up (stacks) silk nests full of enemies for her spiders so the ult can work, or maybe not.

  7. Mind control gets screwed over by the passive, and DE knew that would happen and didnt care. Mind control would do better as an ability firstly if it automatically ensured an enemy had their weapon back even if losing it from another warframe (loki), etc. It should have a secondary effect for enemies it cant control directly, even if it just reduces the damage output of said enemy.

Psychic bolts should have a 50 chance to disarm/50 chancd to cause radiation on top of consistent damage that can be modded for. highlighting  enemies through walls would be cool.

  8.  Really hate when people try to compare warframe to other games and say those games are more balanced...there are all kinds of games. For instance, if you compared warframe to a personal favourite of mine, infamous, warframes abilities are too weak and too small.

    Warframe is just warframe.

  9. Mirages ability should extend dark and light areas. You could say she is using shards of her prism broken apart to refract light (the original glass frame). Something like when in Absolver, the shadows move when going to a new map.

I see rivens for meta weapons selling for hundreds or thousands of plat but for a penta or tonkor? pfft folks barely want to pay 5p on ps4.

I asked why the explosive weapons have strong disposition rivens and folks told me cause hardly anyone uses them?

It seems de insists on the self damage for explosive weapons whist not even bothering to fix the problematic of rounds bouncing from team mates or pets causing death to explosive weapon user.

Then look at sorties where there are zero missions requiring explosive only weapons?

So why not just remove explosive weapons as there are no fixes for the self damage other than the salty duh! just dont use them? I get told or the ever usefull admonition of git gud lol right as its impossible to avoid being trolled by team mates jumping in front or the random pet deciding to pass in front just as I shoot.

    No:(

Just because DE hasnt fixed self damage doesnt mean people dont like them.

The penta secura is my go to weapon. And i habe a riven for it thats pretty decent.

I love that weapon, and through use over several years, rarely ever blow myself up. Yes, its a problem, but blowing myself up with my weapon os basically the way alot if things DE gives us in the game seems like.

  11. Wait. I dont pay attention to things much. Everyone was complaining about draco, and hated. Now everyone supports hydron? But complains about the warframes instead of the maps....does this mean they aknowledge xp farms but still dont understand the root cause for them? Why would you go to hydron/draco repeatedly other than to farm xp, and if farming xp, why would you do it slowly?

  12. They are putting in a mortal combat style game mode so i dont see why this cant happen. Its definitely not a waste of developer time (see mortal combat mode comment above). And its not hurting anyone who doesnt want it.

  13. Sargus ruk is still a better Ember than Ember.

Did a sortie today for a change and he was the boss, and i notice theyve changed his ult again. All of his abilities are embers abilities but better, but his ult is just -insert perfect guy meme here-...

Is sounds terrifying. It shakes stuff. Its area of denial, not area of effect, and thats what ember needs. Oh and the synergy. And if fireball worked like that instead of the smoldering thing it is...id buy sargus ruk for plat. Lots of plat. And Ember would go in the trash.

  14. I really wish i could just have more than one button for melee attacks. Like the options for classic and new controls Warframe has in the settings, you can allow a player to keep the single button we have, 2 buttons, or pips.

  15. So many abilities...

As a Volt fan, i will just focus on Volt.

Maybe i have the wrong idea, but for me, a cool factor is more important than any damage numbers or cc. Utility is a must on a Warframe...

Volts discharge is cc. DE has stated many times they dont want it to be crowd control, but thats what it is.

I would rather see it stun less than to have a timer on when u can use the ability

The lord of lignthing being limited isnt attractive. It only makes the game less fun. Any ability on a timer would make the game less fun..

I agree. As hard as this might be to believe after reading this particular thread, I don’t dislike people who get angry I’ve chromas changes and rant about it, because it makes sure that people know he isn’t in an acceptable spot and continues the conversation. It was never my intention and im not proud of it, but it also gives me an excuse to bump so I can self validate the drama at least qq.

Since your talking about chroma end game, do you think DE might shift power into his 1 & 2 that could make them more useful end game, and if so what might that shift look like?

i know this is a spectral scream thread, but I really hope to see elemental ward improved as well.

its really the most defining ability as far as making one elemental chroma stand out from another.

I dont know how to answer that, because quite frankly i wouldnt hold my breath on DE adding meaningful damage to any first ability or any team buffing ability. Since his 2 (forget the name) is shared between teammates, its bound to be less effective than it would be if it was just for him, because its unbalanced to have 4 chromas running around, as someone somewhere once said. Atlas truly is an oddity for them, way out of line and character....there are some good firsts abilities that also do good damage, but good damage, and even good first abilities are just rare, and both combined, theres a handful, Atlas...apparently Gara? Idk.

Literally the only frame I've ever experienced having a need for more than 3 builds is Rhino, and even then it'd be 4, and the 4th is mostly a personal thing anyway.
High range max duration stomp build, Ironclad Charge/Iron shrapnel armor build, Bere DPS build, and Bere buff build, the last two of which are like 2 mods apart so w/e.

The key words here are "the only frame I've ever"

Obviously, if everyone felt rhino was the only frame that needed more modding, this wouldnt be an issue. And im going to go a step further and say iv never felt Rhino needed more than one mod set up.

Its not an issue of people lacking skill or knowledge. Its the shere amount mods available that people wish to use. Different builds. Different people.

  18. the ridiculous part is that some frames, in order to give true build diversity, require you to build multiples of them. Its easier if you just keep a prime and non prime, but i dont see why you cant have different builds with different polarities on the same frame. The only objection is the work others put in to create multiple versions of the same frame. But if your too bitter to let those who come after you to mod their frames in a way easier than you did, by all means block progress and change in warframe, a constantly changing and progressive game.

  19. To be clear, you only ever had one revive if you had already wasted the other 3. And i dont recall dying much, as it wasnt an option. The only thing this would do is bring back the toxicity where people were ridiculed for bringing "useless" frames, waiting 30 minutes for a team in recruit chat, and needing to have a certain frame with a certain build and certain amstery ramk or you wouldnt be getting in. Essentially, normal missions 40-50 would be like trying to set up an Lor raid back when they first started. And then anyone who had any common sense would be running Inaros and Ember truly would be dead. Cheese would be all the more rampant.

4 revives per day was fine before DE made insta killing a thing in the name of difficulty...asked for by tenno saying the game was too easy... When they started nerfing enemies, scorches, bombards, napalms, hyekka masters and cats, bursas...those tenno started screaming bloody murder, so they changed the revive system...now we have been asking for more difficult enemies, but even without them, i dont think this is necessary...if you know how to play warframe, you should already be doing your best not to die.

And not everyone likes darksouls. Go play infamous.

*Several posts in still no numbers just butthurt rambling about some self enforced “identity” (lol). Being the go-to for lazy min/maxers was for sure his real “identity”. Why pretend like your argument would get better if you put energy into it?

From the begging to the end it’s just you crying about how chroma is still the best buffer, but not by a wide enough margin anymore; and when I point that out, you say nvm he’s a worse buffer then literally everyone. And when I point THAT out as a lie, it becomes “lol just being honest bro trust me hours in the simulacrum you just don’t get me”.

ok you win, your dumber then me. I concede.

I just want to shoot freakin lazer beams with my dragon frame and to have constructive civil discussions with civil constructive registered losers.

I dont see any reason to tear the tenno down. There were some things DE may have gone over board with in the nerf. Dismissing your ideas for the 1st and 4th to be fixed in favor of reverting the 3rd ability to its old state would solve nothing, and i think you made that clear the first 2 posts, but now its just the both of you bickering, and its not pretty...his damage buff and armor buff rely on him taking damage to sheilds and health as far as i understand...and thats about as reliable as Embers passive is endgame. Im not a chroma main, but i doubt theres any frame that couldnt use suggestions for every ability. In fact, DE has it wrong if they think theyve fixed any frame without taking a look at every ability, but thats me butting in. Your both right. And you probably knew that from the beginning. From the way you talk, i know you know enough about chroma that you could point out 1 thing unsatisfsctory about the 3rd. So can this be dropped?
