Downplaying and belittling is inferred.  It's not my intent to belittle anyones posts, but many people chose to infer that and take offense.  There isn't really anything I can do to fix that, short of a drastic personality change just for the sake of someones feelings because they get a knee jerk reaction to something I post.

And I try to take the higher road, but I'm human and fail.

Hopefully everyone is human. Some might be bots. Im human. I cant let things go. I cant stop thinking about that persons stupid post about wukong, how that might give DE confirmation bias, or any of the other thousands of stupid replies iv read, even if they werent actually necessarily stupid. I can be quite petty actually...

Just for arguments sake...if you wanted to post something serious and drama free about cysts and how they could be tweaked, would you do so here? Knowing that someone would inevitably come and tell you your post was over the top and dramatic and cysts were fine as is because they have no problem with them, even if you spent time putting together the most level headed argument you could? Is that why you say you agree that cyst could change but prefer to say they arent much of a problem?

I have to disagree with this.

Most people, that I've seen, aren't saying people should stop having a problem with it, just to tone it down and stop exaggerating.  In a couple of my previous posts, I mentioned how there have been Forumites who will claim that the game is neigh unplayable - that wasn't hyperbole.  I've seen people who say that. (IDK if those threads are still around, things got stupid after comments like that.) In those instances, I will step in and say "it's not that big of a deal, come on" simply because I find hyperbole to motivate change abhorrent.  At no point do I tell people that they shouldn't feel the way they do, just that they're being over the top and it's not helping their situation, because there's a good chance DE will read it, roll their eyes, and keep going.

Using hyperbole to get changes rarely works, and in my experience on these forums, others, and in real life, will only devalue the topic and make it even harder to get the changes needed.

So, yeah, I am going to point out that they're being overly dramatic purely for effect, because I do want to see positive changes.  I do want QOL for many things, even this cyst.  What I don't want is someone doing wrist-to-forehead-fainting nonsense because it makes it harder for everyone else talking about to be taken seriously.

But then why not take the serious stance on it while also pointing out the melodrama of someones post instead of opposing their ideas in the form of the famous one line "its fine as is"? I understand what you said, its well written, i assume your posts only get better as the day goes on but i have encountered the exact opposite people. If you had posted this at the very beginning, what do you think the op would have replied with?

Example: someone said that wukongs first ability is fine as is. It very well could be under the right rationale. But i feel it isnt, so I asked them what exactly was fine about the ability. It is a pretty average jab attack that has a possibility at an aoe-me. They replied with "yeah, but an augmented iron vault build does amaze balls damage in the limited places you can actually use it"

And i put my hand over my mouth. And stared at that reply....

So thats what i picture in my mind when people try to play something down. Becayse it had nothing to do with the base ability or even the functionality of the ability with augment. The extra damage sounds like something unintended on DEs part, because thats not even what the augment was made for. These people are just as guilty as the overly dramatic in my eyes. Maybe im wrong. Maybe im dramatic. But playing the cyst down still seems like it would only confirm to someone on the dev team nothing needs to change. You want to stop dramatic people? Take away whats fueling their drama. Dont belittle their point or down play their experiences, it only fuels the fire and doesnt really do justice to your argument which was better represented here. Show them that they are the problem because they are destroying chances of actual change, not you. Unless you are just opposing for opposings sake or actually dont like what they are complaining about.

And having the cyst doesn't effect gameplay either.  :D    Not that I'm against DE adding more QoL changes in regards to removing the cyst.  I'm just of the opinion that the whole thing just isn't a huge deal.  Nothing more and nothing less.

I don't disagree at all with your opinion.  Truthfully, I'm just really enjoying the civilized discussion we are having.  Thank you for that fellow Tenno.

I think this discussion is interesting, but not really enjoying it... That shouldnt take away from your enjoyment, but theres a thin line between debate for debates sake and trolling. Something as simple as simply being worried about how someone else feels about something isnt really all that simple. Why are you so invested in other peoples feelings? Why does something bothering someone else that doesnt bother you bother you? If people were suggesting to remove the cysts entirely, i would object. I think DE is having fun with these living breathing mechanics they are trying to create. Its all a fun experiment, like the relays being destroyed by vay hek unless we defended them. But no one is suggesting to remove them. I dont understand the vested interest in trying to tell people what to feel and think about something. And as someone else mentioned, if DE even reads this, all they have to do is take a look at some of the dissenting opinions from others and they'll have their justification for why everything is fine as is...and the only reason for that is "its not a big deal to me so it shouldnt be a big deal to you"...nothing else. Nothing of any substance or worth.

I own all the frames except for Nekros, and all of my frames are immune to the cyst.  When I decide to get Nekros for MR (don't need him for anything else as I have Nekros Prime), the cyst wont even be a factor.  Same with any new Primes or frames that come out.  Even when Ivara Prime comes out I won't care about the cyst. Heck, I got the Ember Prime Vault last year just for fashion frame and didn't even worry about the cyst.

For those who are complaining, they must have forgotten that when the cyst originally came out there was only one way to get rid of it.  You had to breed a new pet.

Edit:  I bet that none of you even noticed that my screenshot of Nekros Prime a few pages back actually has a cyst on it.  LOL

For those complaining about complaints, maybe you forgot that when the cyst came out there was only one way to get rid of it. Then DE qol'd it. Therefore DE can do a qol change again, no problem right? And it wont affect your gameplay at all whatsoever aside from the fact people will be less likely to complain about it....what are you losing?

Eidolon lures, there are scattered all across the map in many Grineer settlements, hard to miss them. Vomvalyst's are literally present every where you go. Eidolon lures absorb their energy from either, making it go into it's Astral form and absorbing it, or you can take it's energy directly to the lure.

No, the Eidolon has a set amount of shields you can only damage via operator, once it's shields are down you can attack it's limbs with anything.

You still get parts for just fighting it without a lure right? If your fine with tracking it down when it teleports?

  6. 11 hours ago, (Xbox One)janglesthemonke said:

Okay. First off, killing an Eidolon is not hard what so ever, just run Chroma and you can solo capture the him with ease, as I and many others have done plenty of times. Secondly, just look up a guide, even the worst ones explain the basics and from there you should understand everything for the fight and how to tell when certain phase is. Here I'll explain the basics even right now. Step 1. 2-6 lures. Step 2. Charge lures with Vomvulysts. Step 3. Take down Eidolon shield(T2 is my prefered amp) Step 4. When Eidolon flashes red, you can damage his limbs. Step 5. Take down limb. Step 6. Repeat from Step 3. It's really not that hard.

None of what you explained made any sense. Could you go more in depth?

    What are lures. Fishing lures?

How do you charge with a vomvalyst. Why do you do this. Where is a good place to find them?

    Amp...T2..

I thought you could always damage its limbs...thats where i aimed with my operator power...

I guess what I have the hardest time with is; why not simply play a different 'frame until the cyst is ready to be removed?

Many people cry out "think of the newbies!!1!" but I've yet to meet a newbie that is so far into fashionframe that the cyst is an issue.  99% of the ones I've met with the cyst react with "that's gross/cool, when does it end?" and that's it.

Well, in my experience, i was either worried another frame would get the cyst, or had no frames without the cyst. Plus, its alot of hard work down the drain for 7 days. Forget the cyst. Imagine if DE painted your syandana pink for breast cancer awareness month. Its mandatory. You cant change it for 7 days. People would flip and others would wonder why, its for a good cause. But fashion frame is more important than good causes. Its more important than making sure noobs can get the cyst. Its not logic. Well, and it also sucks being told how your frame has to look.

Even though it's a short term thing and will never return once it's removed?

    I just don't get that.

I mean, just look at your post. Its a thing that will never return once its removed. Thats ok. Its the specifics that have people pulling their hair out.

I could consider it short term maybe if your talking about how often i play warframe now, which is about 1 to 2 hours a week, basically once a week. But a year ago i was putting in 2 hours a day. A measurement of time seems like it should be straight forward, and 7 days seems like it should be short term, but fashion frame is not subject to straight forward logic. It is not logic. People are getting upset based off emotions and feelings. 7 days might as well be long term. "Its on and its never coming off, my life is over."- plus, me personally, the only frame that the pink didnt completely screw up was my teal and prism colored Nyx...it kind of looked cool...but the rest, Oberon was garbage, Ember was trash, Nekros....i couldnt stand Nekros...

  9. Not much to talk about then i guess... @MagPrime.

1). Your idea for clan tech immunizations sounds cool. There are a million things DE could do.

2). I recongnize your right to free speech.

---> The cyst is pink. My frame is all white. The pink does not go on the white. It never will. If i could change the color of the cyst to white, it would be fine. This is one personal experience. I spent alot of time on my frame making it look good. The cyst is on it now. Now i cannot play and feel good about how my frame looks.

Vanity. Pettiness. Superficiality. Shallowness....i dont understand what it is other people dont understand.

In all honesty, I didn't finish my thought on my initial post.  I had every intention of coming back alter and editing the rest in and I was using the comment as a way to bookmark the thread.  Not the best choice, considering I got horribly distracted, but it's what happened.  It wasn't until Patternist and Kimi decided to take offense to my comment that things took the turn they did.

I personally don't find the cyst to be the abhorrent, game stopping issue that many claim it is, that has been established, I actually would suggest a mechanic that allows you to inoculate your Warframes after having so many infections, that way people have the option of choosing to be infected or not and people still experience the cyst in the way DE wants.  Personally, having to cure the cyst over 30 times is over the top.

Overall, my gripe with threads like these is the constant whining about how people are seemingly incapacitated by such a small thing and any dissent is met with hyperbole and toxicity like Patternists.

Whining is a strong word. The pimple is pink. The color cant be changed. Some people are very particular about their color schemes, going so far as to purchase plat with real money to buy color pallets (ridiculousness. Im that person). Fashion frame itself is nothing but feelings and emotions. Very few people probably actually mind the pimple being there. Maybe im wrong. For me its the color.

There are 3 valid resons in my (opinion) to object qol on the pimple

1). You feel DE is being disrespected and their design choice questioned without reason.

2). You feel DE taking time to fix this takes away time for them to fix other things.

3). You feel this would negatively impact your gameplay, reducing chances for you or new players to encounter the pimple. Without an atleast guarenteed 7 days of exposure, its hard to say how long the pimple would actually survive in the game.

Well, those are the 3 reasons i consider valid, and i have solutions and answers for them all.

1). DE makes mistakes. Example Gara. You might say that im making a stretch by comparing gara to pimples, but im just saying nothing is ever set in stone, and their decisions arent always perfect.

2). DE has spent time rolling out and re rolling out changes for warframes (mag and volt namely) because they havnt been able to really nail down what the player base wants or what they want. Im assuming they have time when i say this, but if they could just get one right the way they want it, maybe that would free up some of their time (im sorry, that might sound mean).

3). If DE offered an option, even if it required us to pay plat, to hide the pimple but still retain its infectivity, that would solve everything. As i said before, the people who dont like the pimple are most likely people who spend money on fashion frame. And since its pretty much doing the same thing, just not visible to the person who has it, everyone should be happy. Maybe it becomes too big to be covered and your reminded to pop it, who knows. People would hate DE for charging plat, if i was worried about people talking crap about them, id probably advise against it, but we all know who really hates these cysts, and we know theyll pay. Because of all the whiny posts right?

I just dont see why any remark that isnt adressing a problem someone has with the cyst being removed early is supposed to be relevant. And i dont consider posts simply telling someone to deal with it to be addressing problems. But thats just me.

  11. Telling someone how to feel isnt really feedback. If the title of the post is against a mechanic, and the post itself lays out reasons why, a response telling them its not that big a deal to you and shouldnt be a big deal to them is inconsequential... Unless you lay out detailed reasons why something is beneficial and not detrimental to their experience, nothing will sway their mind. Saying the pimple is not something to get worked up over, in a post asking for early removal of the pimple, is nill and nothing as far as feedback goes...telling someone to simply deal with it because you can, ignore it because you never notice it, or like it because ypu do and you dont pop it on your frame because you like how it looks is like wanting everyone to eat their hotdogs with relish because you like it. Why would you ever come to an argument with a veiw point like that? No ones gonna be convinced about anything.

  12. There are people who get offended anytime someone says DE isnt perfect...honestly they could charge plat for early removal though...the same people that are worried about the cyst are the ones who justify spending money on tennogen. For instance i hated volts rework, and almost never play this game, but i bought the arrester helmet anyways, and would have bought the proto skin, ugliness aside, if it had some sort of electrical effect or something.

Plus. The cyst is pink. That works with very few edgelord color schemes, and they know that. If the color could be changed, or something put over it, that would work equally as well. But they are definitely losing money not charging plat. Theyll get heckled and dragged through the mud. But people will shell out the cash or wait 7 days and thatll be that. 15 plat for early removal, 2 plat down every day.

What frame gameplay though? Casting Vex armor, spamming Trinity's Blessing, or dropping a Volt shield isn't my definition of frame gameplay. You're not going to use Ember's Fireball to try and deal damage, for example, but it would be nice if it had some impact on the fight.

You're forced to use weapons and defensive/buffing abilities. If you're Warframe doesn't bring either of those it's basically useless and hindering yourself and your squad. They should let Warframe abilities deal some amount of damage to the Eidolons instead of forcing us to bring specific Warframes and weapons in order to defeat them within a night cycle.

definitely...If warframes could damage eidolons, thered be a nova, a frost, and two of some other frame in every match.

    Those were examples.

    Flawed ones, I'll admit.

I came up with them on the fly to try and better demonstrate my point.

You are focusing on the minutia of my argument, rather than the argument itself.

But you know what, I'll stop there. Because this is arguing a sub-argument, rather than the point at hand.

I'll speak what I'm really thinking.

What are the mechanics of a forma?

You polarize a mod slot, and it from then on gives a bonus to mods of the correct polarity, and a downside to all mods of the incorrect polarity.

You have come onto the forums, and stated that players should be given a way to cancel a polarity in the situation that it is incurring a downside on the mod they have slotted into it.

You are essentially proposing that the absolute most basic premise of a forma be changed, so that it would effectively no longer incur a downside, and act solely to give bonuses.

I stated that preferring forma to function this way is truly just a matter of opinion.

You implicitly refused to believe that it was a subjective matter, instead opting to believe that the current system was objectively making the game worse.

I guess I failed to argue enough.

    My bad.

    Your idea is terrible.

Everyone else is fine with this system, because it gives us the additional power we all know and love, but at the cost of variability, actively ensuring that players who demand the absolute most power also end up hitting the most road-blocks as they are inevitably forced to change their builds.

It is a beautiful and elegant system of ensuring that player consider how they mod their frame, while simultaneously making players feel like they're "Cheating the system" and "Are so dang clever" for managing to fit in all of the best mods.

You are very obviously just salty that you had to de-polarize a slot after you made a mistake. And instead of accepting that you made a mistake, you opted to believe that the system was just stupid, and that you shouldn't be forced to deal with the downsides of "yet another" double-edged sword system, and instead should only reap benefits.

I hope you enjoy your new build.

    I wanted to say something.

    1. "Everyone". Everyone else cant possibly be fine with it. There was someone else who just said they were planning to make this same post. I had this same thought after booting up warframe after 3 months and remembering why i dont play this game that often. Its rather pointless trying to talk about core mechanics of warframe and how they could stand to change, because people get their feelings hurt when someone says warframe isnt perfect.

    2. How can the op be salty for having to de-polarize? Saltiness aside, how can you say they made a "mistake" when de-polarizing is a natural and normal part of forma as they are in the game? The only way to change a polarity, even if wanting to erase the polarity, is to put in another forma, so de-polarizing isnt even really a thing, because you are always adding a forma to do something with your polarities, but thats nit picking. We all know that there are "best builds", but for those times when you do need to change up a polarity, your only option is to de-polarize. Does that make all of us registered losers? You yourself stated that the game is ever changing through nerfs, buffs and new mods.

    3. The best outcome would be suggesting some other options that dont ruin your image of what you think makes warframe great. You are obviously interested in maintaining the status quo, but when you argument fell on deaf ears, it was upsetting wasnt it? We all know DE isnt going to change forma. But if they did this, would it dumb the game down? If i were to simplify your argument, i would say you are against this change because it takes away some of the replayability that warframe offers. That is, without the goal of leveling something up, warframe becomes a little less fun in your eyes, and thats bad. I get that. But if thats the case, they should have left maps like draco in and disabled everything but experience points (credits, ressources). Because just like how some people like extermination missions because they think they are fun and have (had) a finite amount of enemies you could race to kill the fastest and some people hate extermination missions because they only have (had) a finite amount of enemies that dont scale and offer no challenge, so too can you find the same people who like forma for adding replayibility, and people who hate forma for adding an extra obstacle between them and enjoying the game with the mods they need to put back on to have fun.

Just intruding on this convo, dont mind me.

  15. What if over time, embers wof ability started dealing fire damage to her, for the sake of the passive, and accelerant sent that damage out in aoe. Iv always wanted accelerant to be for Ember with fire procs what molt is for everything on saryn...imagining that enemies hit with exploding molt are taking damagw they dealt....i guess nyxs absord is more apt.

100 energy for a 6 second stun that does tickle damage and loses effectiveness at range. DIscharge is now directly inferior to comparable CC abilities like Rhino Stomp, Frost's Avalanche, and Nezha's Divine Spears in every way, none of which have any drawbacks.

Doesnt nezhas spears rquire you to decast it before a certain time or it will force stop you from whatever you were doing into a decast animation almost as frustrating as the teleportation animation from the grineer commander? Or did they fix that? Or is it just a skill thing?

  19. I havnt played in a while, but just want to say something in hopes it does get read...i am a big fan of volt, and want to give a big thanks to the dev team for sticking with him for so long... With all the frame reworks for so long...And thats as positive as I get.... There was a solid year and some change, where it didnt seem like anything reasonable was going to happen to Volt, that the changes from his rework were set in stone...now for what ever reason, he has recieved several changes all in the space of a few months...but by now the game is nearly unreconizable to me, as in my saltiness i kind of just lost interest in the game as a whole (worlds tiniest violin playing sad music)...and volts not quite there yet even now and i dont think its going to happen this year or next year. Again, im glad you guys keep putting so much into your frames, although again, im not sure why these consecutive changes are happening now, what caused them, or how long they will go on...

I never understood why discharge couldnt be cast in the air, why shock recieved cast delays, or why volts speed stopped affecting parkour....i didnt understand volts rework. I could make educated guesses.....theres so much care put into making sure a frame doesnt break the game, so much done to make sure that it wont color outside the lines that often times it seems like the frame is a kid in a padded suit and helmet riding a tricycle done a bumper lane in a bowling ally (without the cavernous hole at the end to fall into of course).

As far as Volt goes, damage will never be his forte. Electricity is resisted by too many things...bumping up damage on shock (i think such a thing happened) isnt an answer to anything...

Carrying the shield for all intents and purposes is fixed i guess, but i dont understand why all the pain and heart ache had to go on for so long...

Speed only lasts for 10 seconds at base yet has one of the most frustrating opt outs in the game...you do realize that by the time someone has stopped to backflip, the volt in question has probably already recast speed because only so many mods fit on a warframe as for instance, a primed continuity will only give you 16 seconds. And nothing requires a volt devote their entire build to duration just to get up to 30.

Discharge is discharge. Its cc. Apparently its not supposed to be cc. But its not damage. Again, within most missions, it probably works as intended, and i havnt played in a while, but using it against corpus or infested was risky because death, and using it against grineer was ideal the higher levels they were because armor. If you can fix that, thatd be nice. But its not damage.

And there....i guess thats the end of my entitled post. Im sure you guys actually can make whatever changes happen to volt work, but the option to type was there, so i took it. And i didnt say anything about any other frame because they have other people to type about them.

  20. Fireblast itself is nice, the useless ring left behind could be changed to do something cool.

Fire ball is a terrible ability as is that needs no cast delays and some of that other stuff you were saying, but just like how damage isnt helping wof, it doesnt need extra damage. Cus DE will just fixate on that and say theyve fixed Ember. More utility, like banshees sonic boom, lest single target "might possibly be aoe in certain circumstances" like nekros soul punch.

  21. Nerfs are bad because they never take the time to fix the things that are bad. When nerfing chroma, they could have gone in and fixed spectral scream, but they did not. If nerfs were always win/lose, maybe itd be better. Fire ball is also a bad ability.
