I stopped playing around the same time and recently picked it back up again. I felt the same way at first. Now that I've had some time to chip away at some of it I don't feel nearly as overwhelmed. Instead now I am glad there is a lot of variety and I'm finding myself not getting nearly as bored. The only new content I don't enjoy is the duviri experience. The zone is pretty but I find the lore convoluted, the gameplay is slow and lacks depth. I do enjoy the circuit though! I wish Warframe was better about not leaving content islands behind and adjusting or increasing rewards for old content. Almost nothing has changed with railjack, necromechs and there isn't really any new content. Same for cetus and fortuna and eidolons.
