i had been hoping that the 'Caves' on Earth Landscape would have been like some sort of bottomless Dungeon type of thing. just happened to be what came to mind when they announced that they'd be adding Caves to the Landscape. why did i think of that? idunno.

I believe that was the original plan. I remember Steve talking about it, so perhaps it was scrapped. We kind of got it in Deimos, however. And of course Soulframe is going to have this system, but I don't think it counts.

  2. Clipping like in your Ivara example is minor and not really noticeable. However, there are areas that do require attention, such as operator suits, which have been broken for years and clip often even within one set, and mixing parts can make it even worse.

If you take a look at the new war or the most recent Warframe 1999 trailer, there is quality to the characters. But our own character that we can customise is behind in both animations and quality of cosmetics. Why does Veko, a character we see for 20 minutes, have better visuals than us?

I think you are a grandpa with pink colored glasses.

Railjack 1.0 was a complete failure. The entire modding system spoke a different language without any benefit (i.e. dirac, for example, which become useless after you maxed everything and cannot be translated back to your main game). There was no crewmate and it was impossible to do any mission solo. The turret was mounted on the sides making aiming and firing a hellish task. Omni repairing used the old and abandoned "mining 1.0" mechanic for no particular reason - again reinventing the wheel. Overall it was practically impossible to do any mission, not even the first Earth mission, solo. You entered the first mission. You go to the turret and left the pilot seat. 30 seconds later your ship is on fire. You repaired one hazard and run out of resources. 20 seconds later your ship is about to blow up. After less than 3 minutes you failed your mission and cephalon cy called you a moron.

The only way to do it was ironically to park your ship at the far end of the map and use your archwing, or co-op with other people who, most of the time, were as clueless as you, because the game actually never explained how your ship works (hint: you should hit the open space node on Earth before anything else). Also good luck with all the bugs and host migration in railjack.

There were reasons why Railjack 1.0 was scrapped so quickly and had the shortest lifespan of any update in the history of Warframe.

    Nice that someone gets it.

DE already said years ago that Dark Sector is not a prequel and I don't understand why players still try to shoehorn that game into everything. When they first showed Duviri Paradox people also screamed Hayden Tenno, and look how it turned out. 1999 is clearly inspired by Dark Sector, but that's it. The equivalent of Hayden is Arthur. Let Dark Sector rest in peace.

  5. Rending Crane is pretty good. The best heavy-weapon stance in my opinion. Not that the bar is high, but still.

Tempo Royale would be better if neutral and forward combos were swapped.

Cleaving Whirlwind - the worst of the bunch, no idea why they kept the stagger animation in the forward combo. Remove it and it will be that much better.

Yeah, overall we could use one more.

  6. I'm talking about the "ceiling" in the picture below.

    Spoiler

Very often, when the jackal does its aerial spin, it will get stuck on this thing which will break the fight. The jackal will either stay on top or mid air, which makes it impossible to perform a finisher. Sometimes it will reset and fall down, sometimes not. Regardless, removing this element of the environment should also remove any issues it causes.

But is this a bad practice?

I would lean on yes, simply because there is no good reason for these items to be time limited. The accolade could be exclusive for those who want to support the game more, but skins, eh... It's not like they can run out of them.

We would probably see the same amount of complaints with more pack options, just different complaints from now.

Oh, yes, can't argue with that.

I dont see how DE deserves this kind of wild speculation over a set of skins meant to be a supporter pack. They literally give us Dex skins for free and they're about just as nice as these. They showed 2 more deluxe plat skins at Tennocon too. I was shocked at the price too, but i just dont get the rage and automatically calling them scum for trying to make money.

Oh, this absolutely did get out of hand. Criticism is deserved, but come on.

No no, They've got a point. DE has been getting worse and worse about monetization lately. It didn't start with Regal Aya, and if we don't push back, it won't end with frost and mag Heirlooms. If you don't stand for something, you'll kneel for everything, and I for one don't want a game I've heavily supported to get torn down by greed.

No, my problem is this person has been spamming this thread since yesterday.

But it seemed to me that you were in the head of the Vessel so it could be that it is a simulation based on the first recorded Excalibur's memories that Albrecht transferred himself into?

Perhaps. but for now it's safer to assume it's just a trailer transition, like when they first showed Duviri Paradox.

That aside, I don't think 1999 is where the Orokin era started. Most likely Albrecht brought a bunch of stuff with him for some reason and now it's causing problems in that time. All warframes were created after the Zariman incident, during the old war. We saw parts of these events and they don't scream the 90s.

The whole infested mess we saw, Arthur in a warframe suit, it's not the past of the Warframe universe but the past altered by time-travelling Albrecht or a conceptual embodiment, like Duviri.

In the end we just cant safeguard for these people. It ends up with "life finds a way", but replace the word life with addict or bad habits.

No, you won't be able to safeguard against everything, you're right. However, bad habits shouldn't be exploited like that. I don't think your examples are entirely correct either. If your local pizzeria made a time-limited all-you-can eat event and somebody choked to death or died of a heart attack, then they would probably never do it again. Similar with alcohol, in many places it won't be sold to you if you are already drunk. People not being able to control themselves doesn't justify bad practices and companies should be held accountable, they also should bear the burden of responsibility for what they do.

In this specific situation most of the drama could have been avoided if DE had made different decisions regarding the pack. If we had all the existing packs and one cheaper with only the skins, we wouldn't see as many complaints. Or perhaps we would, because it's the forums.

I'm just trying to figure out what makes it greasy, predatory and anti-consumer here, in a game with far more generous methods of obtaining fully optional things, when it is already seen as fair practices in a completely different game with far stricter ways to obtain optional items. Could it just be that DE are overall too generous and have been so for the past 10 years?

To be fair, the items being time limited can be considered predatory since they utilise FOMO and people can feel forced to buy them. Especially when you consider people with bad spending habits, who are especially vulnerable to such practices.

A time limited-pack with accolades and other junk would be fine, but the skins should be a permanent addition to the game, if you ask me. There's no reason they shouldn't be.
