  1. Same.

User Interface: Menu Scale -> Legacy seems to fix this (mentioned above) but for those on larger screens, it might make the chat window be excessively large (you lose Custom scaling plus a lot of UI elements default to certain sizes, i.e. some will appear too large / too smol, depending on your customisations

*If you don't want messages in your chat window to pop up, make a "private tab", i.e. just right-click on someone in the chat window & click Talk - you're now in a private tab with that tenno and unless they send you a message... no more pop-ups

  2. Once you've equipped the Tranq Rifle, you cannot MOVE DOWN (archwing)

100% repeatable in any open world area if you can use both Archwing (any archwing) and Tranq Rifle.

Unequipping the Tranq Rifle restores MOVE DOWN (archwing)

    -----

Doesn't matter what keybind is assigned to MOVE DOWN (archwing)

Default keybind config / restarting the game doesn't affect this

still no fix for the overlay map all the time resetting to normal minimap in spite of having the option set to always use overlay map. each time going from hub to mission/open world or vice versa, when touching the exit volume in missions, etc... this is really jarring and come on guys, this is broken since about cetus release -.-

Using something like a Blinkpad also keeps resetting to 'Normal Map' from 'Overlay Map'. Please don't let this be like Khora's Strangledome timer that took nearly 2 years to address.

Frankly it'd be better to just remove Overlay Map altogether. To give this some context... imagine if Invert Y works... when you're in a Warframe... but not while in Operator. Or it 'Show Enemy Names/Health' worked intermittently. It's very, very jarring. There is a 3rd party tool that displays a rotating map as a 2nd display but only for the open world maps (fixed map data) but that's a poor sub for a properly working 'Prefer Overlay Map'.

  4. Too true.

The in-game 'Challenges' are far more secure and usually much more accurate (so... how's your 'most often used' stats? Ehh?). Thanks to things like SAM, the Steam achievements can be as valuable as used toilet paper, when WF first hit Steam... within a week or so, 1.7% of all WF players had ALL achievements. You can easily tell if they've used SAM. Most of them will give themselves the MR achievements... on the same date and time.

Valve even counts the time you spend patching the game as 'hours played' (the in-game stats in your Profile measures the time you spend in a map). DE's 'time played' stat doesn't include the time you spend on the relay trying to look fabulous ^_^.

Besides, if it's that important, just use SAM. It's not as if you didn't earn the achievement. You're just correcting a bug?

If one really wants to brag about stats... get other players to check out your in-game profile and look up your... Scarlet Spear score? Mission quit rate? Or something...

  5. So you're doing a MD, with Primary, Secondary & Melee.

When you are wielding your Primary, if you pick up a data mass, you now have your Secondary out. Drop the mass and it goes back to Primary.

When you are wielding your Secondary, if you pick up a data mass then drop it... you go back to wielding your PRIMARY.

Just before this latest patch, it would've been the Secondary.

    ----

More than a year ago, before the start of the Melee 2.x changes/etc. the game will remember if you had your Primary or Secondary (or a scanner or any tool) out before you picked up anything (or did a Transference or equipped a utility tool) and reequip the same thing. Then it stopped remembering... probably due to the "improved game flow" mechanics where you had to RMB after every melee swing to reequip your non-melee weapon.

This past year, multiple updates with many changes it which the game remembers what you had... or didn't and so on...

One developes a certain kind of muscle memory to this sort of thing after 7 years playing the game... it's frustrating to have to remember if you picked up / dropped a data mass, or went 'Operator' or use a utility tool or hacked a console. Because the behaviour was not consistent across different situations and meant you had to remember to always RMB after each "quick melee" and that the results could be different if you were hacking a console or using a utility tool or were trying to scan something and then did a void dash.

    -----

Now though, the behaviour is finally consistent. Not as good as it was 14 months ago but I'll just have to keep on remembering if I have a Primary, Secondary or Tool 'out' and just press my weapon swap key.

Please stop changing this and let us know that if it stops behaving like this... should we report it as a bug or not ^_^.

  6. Soon, it will be the this glitch's first birthday!

Ever since the Melee 1.x update (you know, the one with the auto-block, the auto weapon swap), when you use the operator, you may find that the Strangledome timer disappears.

    https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1079516-khoras-strangledome-timer-disappears/

Should we get a second candle? ^_^

I'd like to know who was hired/fired, promoted or demoted about a year ago because just like an old married person, I love what i fell in love with, but that's not what i have today.   Like most long time players i stay around because loved the it from the start. For what they did for the FTP gaming industry and for their moral standards of how to treat their players as they them selves proclaimed in a few of the beginning of warframe video's I have seen.  When talking about making in game changes such as the arcane helmets that they weren't going to take anything away from players because that would just BE WRONG so although it was being removed those that had it could keep it.  I don't think anyone today believes for one second they still have the same morals.  And to throw a couple forma at us for the hours and hours and twice the forma than you gave us that we put into things was a slap in the face.  i feel they have gone corporate at their core and the only thing that concerns them is their all mighty dollar and the real truth of it was they didn't nerf it because  so many of us liked it,  they nerfed it because it was the most popular and wanted weapon and they realized they screwed up by only making it achievable through game play and had no way of making money on it. They cant have the most popular weapon in the game not be in their market, that's just simple common sense but they should had just added it instead of screwing us again!  Changing weapons or rivens that we have earned or built in the game should never be an option for them. They cant compensate a single player for the hours or the platinum they put in to getting those things and aside from core changes such as the new melee system they need to keep their mitts off our stuff. Doing things like that will and has driven away their long term devotees that finally say "That's all i can stands and i can't stands no more".  With all they have done this past year I would certainly believe the steam numbers and expect them to be completely out of the top ten by the end of 2020.  There is a lot of stuff people will put up with when they love you (delayed releases/bugs), but you best not even fart around them if they don't.  And DE has lost a lot off love this year.

On a little side note i am curious about.  Has any one noticed any issues with their dojo in the past few days?  The larger rooms in mine, the inspirational hall, grandest hall, were all warped or had a smashed look to them Monday night  and stayed that way till Tuesday evening when the overall shape of the room or exterior walls seamed to be back to normal but everything in them still had yet to be fixed.  I'm not sure if its for the upcoming dry dock or to just keep people out of there but i know they put in alot of time clipping as much of the dead space out of both the dojo and our orbiters.  Dead space being everything outside the picture cube.  But i also think their shrinking some of those so keep an eye on your observatories people.

and i gotta say not to excited about tonight prime time stream so could you stop making that thin blink cause i don't care to be forced to check on it to get it to stop.

I kinda feel this. It's nothing really big or specific I can point to but it no longer feels as fun to play WF as before. It isn't Destiny 2 either (been playing that for close to two years, and Destiny prior to that). In fact, I don't think it's the game per se but rather DE's response to players and the community at large. There's definitely some tip-toeing / corporate speak going on but the thing that bugs me the most is the silence that some issues get.

e.g. after the big melee update, whenever you transition to Operator mode and back, you didn't go back to your scanner / tool / etc. Same for after a quick melee attack. It's been "addressed" now as in you still need to RMB but... I'll take what I can get. The thing is... the scanner gets swapped to the Parazon instead or if it's something like a Sortie that limits you to a particular weapon/etc.

It's not a big deal, more annoying that anything but... between the time complains rolled in and now... kinda quiet. Really don't like things being changed with no way to disable / toggle it back, especially if it doesn't make much sense in terms of lore or gameplay but it's their game so I guess we have to adapt and come up with work-arounds.

Before, I'd do the usual whine / gripe on the forums. Now I just use a 3rd party tool to macro this problem away. Graphical issue with brightness / bloom... use a post-process injector. Map visibility, use a PIP tool, AW flight model keeps rolling when you yaw... that was tricky but done outside of the game, added an artificial horizon and so on. Sometimes things break but... beats months of silence / no response.

  8. ... the winter of our melee discontent?

I pretty much gave up on melee since that update... but now with Companion Weapon Riven mods being made available... this means I have to confront that irritating melee swap... each and every time we use melee attacks, we'd have to re-equip the synth scanner.

Unequiping melee weapons so hunting for scan targets (and hunting, mining, fishing... pretty much everything, no?) becomes less frustrating.

How is that improving the melee combat flow? No melee = zero combat flow? Purrfect?

That's just ONE aspect of it. Nevermind the "expected" weapon changes causing FOV / inadvertant weapon firings.

If all these 50+ pages of complaints (there's around 11% who approve...) doesn't change DE's mind... think of all the extra RMB clicks the "improved" melee entails. In 4 hours worth of disruption, I had to do an extra couple of thousand extra RMB clicks. That's almost three thousand extra RMB clicks put on my poor, innocent mouse. That's just poor me... imagine the thousands, nay millions of electronic rodentsia having the right side of their bodies pummeled by increasingly annoyed tenno. That's all on you DE. Have a thought for those mice that have expired through excessive RMB. Their mostly plastic carcasses now littering the landscape of our doomed planet.

Keep our planet greener, rollback this melee update.

  9. Alas, I'm one of those 'some people'.

When you have your Synth Scanner out hunting for synths... oops, you did a melee strike / combo? Need to re-equip your scanner. Hope it wasn't a keybind you only used occasionally... but hey, you can improve your game flow by... not using a melee attack during a synth scanning run. It's more fun and challenging after all. Or just change your keybind to something more convenient. Only adds what? a few thousand extra key presses every so often.

    Mining? Hunting? Likewise.

Forgot you had a Syndic melee weapon and did a melee attack? Oops.. hope that radial blast didn't screw anything up. Just keeping adding a RMB to the end of every melee attack and you'll be just fine.

I must be one of the few who absolutely hate this mechanic. Then again, I also despise having my archwing auto-roll when turning. Got to love having to let go of boost to let your archwing's MCAS bring your attitude back in line.

Nowadays, I just avoid melee except to use a Zenistar special. And I'd rather use the surf-board then fly in Vallis. Went from a melee 'main/fan' to 'never melee'. Going from using a whip to crack containers to everyone's favourite Ignis... to pop pots open.

    Feel the flow...

It looked more like the entire post was sarcasm to me.

And what better time to be reminded of how utterly obnoxious this current nerfed melee system is than with a new release. A whole bunch of new enemies, each of which needs to be scanned to fill up the codex... except that swinging your sword puts the scanner away and you need to explicitly pull it out again. It's extremely annoying even when I've had the scanner mapped to the V key for years now for ease of access. I can't imagine how frustrating this would be if you needed to use the gear wheel for it.

Yeah, kinda hard to read sarcasm some of the time.

When DE launched this, I was hoping for a tiny roll-back or a toggle (remember the revamped archwing mechanics aka the "experimental" flight model). Now, I'd settle for them removing all melee. It's become that annoying to me that I will throw the baby out with the bathwater.

This melee change doesn't just alter combat or even just scanning. If you're mining / hunting or doing a lot of non-combat things... you hesitate to use a melee attack to open containers or harvest resources.

Been playing since 2013 and this melee update is more annoying to me than coptering, greedy pull or a ton of other things. This MAY improve 'melee combat flow'... but that's like taking one step forward and a dozen backwards. It makes it hard to enjoy many of the really good things DE has done. Unlike many other irritants that I've swallowed or just decided to get used to... this continually crops up like day-old vomit. I consciously avoid melee when I have a both primary / secondary equipped or doing any non-combat duties. AND I've use a macro for the first time in this game... and it's for slide-attack with Maiming Strike. This can't be what DE intended.

This update annoys melee mains, forces dedicated players to jump through additional hoops all for what? A specific style and auto-block? Who the heck asked for this?

  11. Usually, if I want to rearrange items for Conservation from

Original: Pobber / Virmink / Bolarola / Sawgaw

    to

New: Pobber / Virmink / Sawgaw / Bolarola

You'd sell the Bolarola lure, then exit / restart the game (sometimes changing instances won't work). Then rebuy the Bolarola lure. This actually works... until you restart the game. Then it's back to the Original.

It's really just a cosmetic issue but... if you have synthesizers... the list order of lures and synthesizes don't match up. Kinda sloppy.

    =====

So if anyone is thinking of rearranging stuff on this gear wheel. Probably don't bother. After restarting the order of lures will revert to Pobber / Virmink / Bolarola / Kubrodon / Sawgaw / Stover / Horrasque

I much preferred the old less dumbed down version.

New graphics effects add nothing but make it harder to see.

Block is OP, and easy mode.

Some like the new way, some don't. Why can't we have both?

Right now, every time I aim, glide, melee-strike anything; I have to press the relevant keybind to get back into gun mode, mining / fishing / hunt mode then curse and swear at my kavat.

New melee sure improves the 'flow' when fighting. The auto-block means some players will be blocking some fires... but every thing else gets janked.

I'll even nitpick a bit and whine about not being able to see what primary / secondary my frame or others are using because its holding this giant anime sword [looking at you, Zenistar/Dominion].

It's not just the specific changes for quick melee / holstering either. Previously, you can go into mining mode, deploy archwing and continue. Now every mode change requires you to reengage mining / hunt mode. I'm probably hitting an extra keybind a few times every minute during gameplay. It's like having to readjust your contact lenses every time you blink. Also new bugs like not being able to use melee-strike to dismount a vehicle because the melee-strike keybind is hosed. Again. Or always... always dropping data masses because you don't equip a secondary. If we ever get a sortie that's Primary / Melee only... Please don't do that. By the way... anyone else got killed thanks to auto-block? Yeah...

Have pity on my kavat. I should only be swearing at her when she blocks my view when I'm drilling ores.

Seriously, don't take inspiration from Boeing. Really. The rest of the game / changes are just great. Except for this tiny, super-annoying thing.

PS If I get the choice to choose between old and new. I'll pour kubrow "essence" on the new and bath it in plasma fire.

  13. Completed phase 1 of Exploiter... door wouldn't open for phase 2. Could be related to a connectivity issue as it was kinda laggy.

    -----

In a Neo Fissure Crossfire Spy / Jupiter Tileset. IF I use my operator to disable a security alarm / lockdown inside the vault area. I get an unresponsive green door. i.e. alarms are reset but locked doors remain locked. On the other paw, if I use my 'frame to do it... seems normal. Obviously it wasn't the same exact map, but it was the similar mission. As I was solo both times, wasn't able to say if all doors throughout the map was similarly affected...

  14. On occasion, after transitioning from operator to frame. I will notice that the timer has gone (as if the dome is down) yet the dome is actually up.

Been able to make this happen half a dozen times, each time it involves going from operator back to 'frame mode. But I've been unable to generate this glitch on demand. Seems to be very, very rare or I'm missing some other parameter.

Anyone else seen this glitch before? Only started since the last update [new melee update]

  15. Imagine that the current system has been in place for a year... now DE wants to put in a new system where you have to press F to swap between Primary and Secondary OR hold F to change to Melee.

When you are on your Primary or Secondary, the weapon stats like ammo/etc will be visible. When you have Melee selected, you can see your Combo Counter.

    Would this be an improvement?

    -----

I can kinda see what DE may be going with this... but we'll need more keybinds. This sort of thing would work with a controller device. PC... not so much [go look at how Monster Hunter World does PC keybinds for bowguns. Let's just say it's not "simple"]. Just letting us do things like keybinding 'SHIFT+E' or 'ALT+SHIFT+E' then splitting up functions between multiple keybinds.Or change all the combos to 'tap E', 'hold E' and 'press E'. And find some way to show the combo counter / weapon status.

Probably not too newbie-friendly? UI too cluttered?

  16. ... sometimes this makes you just unequip melee altogether.

As mentioned before, having to RMB or forcing a zoom is a bother. Having your 'frame wield your melee after use... means you have to RMB to check if you are using your Primary or Secondary. It can be also disorientating. Yes, a single RMB click doesn't take that long but it kinda defeats the intention of making melee combat having a smoother flow.

Add all that to the existing situation of having your Scanner swapped away whenever you transition out of Operator mode.

It's a step backwards to go with the advances and future improvements.

Perhaps a toggle or some of the solutions already mentioned can be put in place.
