As a fellow PC player, Skill Issue.

This sounds pretty distinctly like a skill issue. Have you tried not firing explosives at your feet? I should clarify that some weapons should not have this knockback. The Opticor shouldn't force you to brace every time you shoot it at an enemy that's close. It's not an explosive, the shot itself has an AoE. It's like if the Ignis or Glaxion had knockback. That being said, if you're upset that you can't fire your Kuva Bramma straight down, lol, lmao.
