  1. Hey folks, we need to make a correction to the following patch note description for the Gara Kaleida Skin:

    Sadly, these animation sets do not exist and are not included in the bundle. The patch notes include this due to a case of mistaken identity when writing the notes themselves. It has since been updated to reflect this correction.

    With this last update, we wanted to explain a change that was made in more detail:

    We have retired some older (2008) 8-Bit rendering technology with this latest Hotfix, mostly because it provided little in regards to performance increases, but added a lot of detriment. This means that using Autoexposure and HDR settings are the way forward from now on.

    This means that some of you using the old technology may have lowered your brightness settings to compensate for the light, and so the game seems abnormally dark. If you are seeing this issue, please go to your Display settings and reset your brightness to match the new setup.

    I should note that there is a report function that you can use in-game. By right-clicking on a players name, you can file a report with context if you see other players acting inappropriately. To avoid any potential cases of naming-and-shaming, I am locking this thread.

  4. Since this thread has devolved into personal attacks and bickering, I am locking it.

    To the OP, we are happy to support causes all across the globe, and have done. We try to support as many as we can, year-to-year as well as our players who likewise do charity drives. I am glad that this year, we have the honor of being able to support a cause that resonates with you, and we hope to help others in the future.

    You know, you are absolutely correct, and I apologize for my colloquialisms.

    To shine some light on these things, let me add there are other factors at play here. Our team is (and was at the time of posting - 9:30pm) in communication with Sony. Its not like we have a switch and they have a switch, and we just need to make sure that both are set to the 'on' position. I am not well versed enough in the technical aspects to give you a full rundown of what we were seeing, but I admit my post was over-simplified.

    We are actively working on the issue and none of us want to give any of you the impression that it is unimportant. Please refer to Danielle's post above for further updates.

    Just saying, as they come branded with Warframe logo. Even thou it's not a big deal since they don't have any call to action ( e.g. no "click this now" link 😉 ).

    This is very true. In most (if not all of these cases) the user is aware of the transaction with the payment partner (in this case Digital River) so it should not be too much of a surprise.

    It always pays to double-check if you are unsure. Err on the side of caution.

    At Digital Extremes, we take your account security very seriously, and the Corpus are very inventive in trying to get your account information.

    As a best practice, you should be aware of the following:

    • Digital Extremes will never send you an email from a public email domain (such as Gmail or Hotmail). If you receive an email claiming to be from Digital Extremes, make sure the sending address is either @warframe.com, @digitalextremes.com or @digitalextremes.zendesk.com (our Support site). Do not click on the links in false emails, as they can lead to bad software or password-stealing ‘spoof’ sites.
    • If you are on PC, you should make sure that Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled. This is required for Trading, so be sure to protect your account! If you need more information on PC 2FA, you can read the instructions in this thread.
       
    • If you are on Console, you should enable 2FA on your console account. Each console has a different process, and you can find that process over on this thread. Protecting your console account covers your games which automatically log in, Warframe included.

    As a general rule, there are lots of good anti-virus programs out there (some of which are free), as well as some other best practices (such as using robust, unique passwords). While we cannot recommend individual programs or password managers, we highly suggest you research reputable programs and use them to protect yourself - not just in Warframe, but for your digital security as a whole.

    This is false.

    When a report is made against another player it is logged in our system. On the second part, you are correct. If you are getting harassed and you have evidence of such harassment, please make a ticket with support. You can do that by going to http://support.warframe.com and it will be reviewed.

    We take all cases of harassment very seriously, and there is no room for real-life threats in the community. I should add the usual disclaimer, that use of the report function to make false accusations against another player is in itself a form of harassment and may result in action taken on your account. This is not a statement directly aimed at the OP, but it should be remembered by anyone reading this thinking that reporting someone for harassment is an immediate way to get someone banned.

    All cases are reviewed, and if action is required, then it is taken. Please also remember that support will not discuss action on another players account with you.

    I hope this clears up some uncertainties.
