Also a friendly advice, using cuss words on a forum doesn't make you badass. It just gives away your age demographic.

You folks are better than me; I couldn't be bothered to respond to that person.

For those of you claiming the thread has been derailed:

How many pages of praise did you want?  If anything the direction the conversation evolved to gave life to what would otherwise be a dead thread.  I've expressed my gratitude for Reb on several occasions and have never said anything negative about her specifically, nor would I because I respect her a lot.  I personally feel that DE is well liked among the WF community and don't particularly feel the need for a thread like this.  But to each their own.

Love DE or not, Love WF or not (although if 'not' I can't really understand what you're doing here); I can't see the need for thought police.  State your opinions, don't pretend they are facts, converse and discuss.  But I don't understand telling someone they have the wrong opinion; or that if it doesn't mesh with your fragile views they shouldn't be allowed to say it.

I like WF and DE.  I don't complain about the game; it would be rather hypocritical of my as I have thousands of hours in it.  I don't agree with everything they do with the game, but it's their vision; I certainly couldn't do better and no other similar game I've played has.

I personally don't like some of what the community team does, of which Reb is a member/manager.  I understand that I'm not allowed to have that opinion but wonders never cease.  I found others that feel that way; one person even made a long and popular video explaining some of his views on the matter, and I enjoy discussing it with them where I can, on the forums.

My personal issue with the Community Team is that in my experience the WF community is diverse however in my opinion (there's that bad word again) the community team is not.  People claiming that they are supposed to be entertaining is not something I am arguing against.  My claim is that if that is there aim perhaps they should be more diverse in their interests as not all WF players find the same things entertaining.

Carry on with your mindless arguing, personal attacks and other attempts at small dopamine rewards.

That must come naturally when you give me different problems forcing me to switch and pick better weapons.

I really like what you have to say about this.  I've always felt like the different factions we battle and the different game types we tackle should encourage varied gear.  In addition the flexibility that different gear grants allows me to play the game in the style I want.  Do I want to get right in their face with a shottie or apply some CC from afar before going in with a melee to mop up.  Oh, were doing a spy mission,  let me grab my bow.

I've never troubled myself too much with what's meta.  As long as i'm killing things I feel happy to use what's fun to me.  Regardless of how you feel about rivens or their implementation I like the way they made me take a second look at weapons I like to use.  If something does become meta, is that our fault or the devs?  Should we be 'punished'?

They speak about games they like and roll up such attributes into this game.

I got into WF because of it's adult themes and mature community.  If I wanted to play something else I would and I don't want WF to become those other games.  I could go on about this but I respect that I am not the only demographic they are trying to reach.  I just don't like the idea of making WF like the all the other cooperative pvp games out there.  I play WF because it isn't those other games.

Slightly off subject, have you ever played F.E.A.R.?  The enemy AI revolutionized the genre and kept me coming back for more.  They also released online play (pvp) that was extremely fun and balanced, in part, at least, because everyone had access to the same gear.  I only bring it up because of the things they did right and how it my be applicable to WF.

Tune in to a community stream and you will experience it.  From the games, movies and hobbies they discuss to the focus on the more 'trivial' aspects of the game: fashion frame, what should I name my railjack?, to the 'comments' that make the top 10, hey look at my cat.  There is seldom a discussion of: let's check out how this new mod works, or what would be a good choice of gear against this content.

This is what I suggest most people do.  However at a certain point you run out of fun content.  Usually this would mean moving on to another game.  Luckily, however, DE keeps releasing 'new' content.  It's when that new content isn't fun or seemingly not on the level of previously released content that one might go looking around for answers or other peoples take on things.

Edit:  I've been playing the game for over 5 years and 90% of my posts on this forum are from the last month.  The game went downhill and as someone invested in it I wanted to see what was up.

The three major deterrents that must be avoided.

Nerfing or buffing means that the original design was flawed.  Balance is a hard goal to reach and I don't envy the developers.  But it is their job and in the past Warframe always did it really well.  It's something I've always liked about the game.

I recently saw a long list of 'patches' coming to the game, per the most recent devstream.  90 percent of what was listed amounted to changing numbers in the code.  IE: halved the health and armor of grineer soldiers or archwing gun stats normalized.  I'm glad that DE is continually working to improve the game but these are things that should have worked properly from the start.  The amount of patches we received for SS for instance has been unbelievable.  You play the game, come back a week later and play all the same content only to find that it's no where near the same.

XP gain is also a tough one.  I enjoy being able to improve my weapons but I agree that it feels limiting because the process is so difficult we seem forced to only do it in a few select locations.  After formaing a weapon I don't feel comfortable taking it out against 'real' content, it wouldn't be fair to my team and it's just ineffective.  It doesn't make sense that I have a powerful weapon with multiple forma but formaing it again reduces it to useless levels until it is ranked up again.  In theory it would be nice if they retained some use and allowed me to passively level them up while still progressing through 'real' content.  For what it's worth I refuse to level anything in the game without an xp booster active.

The true Warframe game is happening in TITAN FALL 2

I'm glad you mentioned Titanfall.  I brought it up in an earlier post:

-Titanfall 2 had a great story that pulled me in.  A big part of it's success was the dialog/vo's that were engaging. Give me that please.

I don't know what it was about that game but it delivered an AMAZING experience.  I understand it was short and on rails but I loved every minute of it.

I wish they would be more focused, in the future, at delivering more 'fun' and engaging content.

-SS seems boring, too boring considering we are meant to play it multiple times.  The sentients aren't the most fun enemy to battle.  There are too few of them.  I liked them when they were originally introduced, as a enemy that popped up among the normal guys we were fighting; almost like a mini boss.  The 'team' play we are experience is laughable.  Soon after it dropped Reb assured us that the players we saw in the ground or in space were real and not npc.  I guess some people were questioning that.  But the point is, regardless of whether the other squad is real or fake makes no difference.  Honestly things may have gone much smoother if they were npc's.

-Railjack's launch was mind boggling to me.  Why introduce 3 'new' planets with some 30 or so nodes that are all basically the same.  Imagine starting WF and getting to Earth only to find that all of the nodes were exterminations.  No they gave us variety because they knew that's what we wanted.  I would have preferred if RJ just launch with one fun planet with varied content.

Staying with the topic at hand, Rebecca always tries to play the game but she finds ways to play it the worst way possible.

Do they like WF or games like WF?  Watch any stream and you will hear the same games keep coming up: Kirby, Zelda, Super Smash Bros and Animal Crossing.  In fact in one of the last streams one community team member was asked what they were playing during this time at home and the answer was: animal crossing.  I'm glad they love games and are excited to talk about them but give me a break.  I am sure that a lot of us like doom eternal and resident evil but those will never be discussed because the community team is made up of a group of individuals that are not individual.  They all share the same likes and dislikes, making them more effectively just one person; just one voice.

If this continue then wait for the migration of players towards other games. Retention of the new and the old will be gone.

It's pleasantly surprising how well WF has endured.  We've been able to see 'competition' come and go (looking at you Anthem) while we enjoy a dedicated and growing payer base. But it wasn't magic, it was the work of great, responsive developers and an engaging community team.  They set the bar high but recently are falling short.  I hope they can turn things around before we start to see an exodus.

I'm going to be blunt here. I want to see DE treating us with a more serious program. They go too cringy as if we where legally retards and autistic. DE your community grew up. Your community has kids, your community has professionals and serious people who comes here to enjoy the game. Don't treat us like clueless kids.

It's nice to hear i'm not the only one that feels this way.  I didn't want to say it as I may be one of the more seasoned tenno.  But tuning into 'region chat' at any given time and you'll realize that the majority of players are mature (I don't even want to imagine what goes on in a Fortnite chat room) and act accordingly.  It would be nice if this was more reciprocated by DE.

If she just clocked in to be paid, DE would not be where it is today. I'll just put it that way.

DE has crafted an amazing player experience and that's why were all here.  More importantly they have always been very vocal and active with their player base.  The community they have fostered is a big reason behind the games success.  I have nothing but great things to say about Steve and Rebecca.

Lately it seems we've received some content that might not be up to par with what we expected.  I have a great amount of faith that they will iron out all the wrinkles and continue producing great content.  I have no reason to worry; they've acknowledged the issues we raised and I am sure they are working to fix it.

What does bother me is unresolved and unacknowledged problems behind the scenes.  I believe these issues are a large part of the 'tension' we are feeling and the growing divide between the players and DE.  I've felt this way for a long time and wrote DE personally about this about a month ago.  Then I saw some videos posted online that confirmed I wasn't alone in my opinion; that others felt the same way.

While Rebecca is amazing the rest of the community team does not make me excited about playing the game or being part of the community.  Many of them do no seem knowledgeable or passionate about the game in my opinion.  They don't seem representative of the community they seek to engage with.  When you add this to toxic WF partners and accusations of favoritism the community seems to be unwelcoming.

It's clear, in my opinion that they are aware these issues exist.  They admonish players during streams for the things they say in chat.  They've said they would address these concerns, but after waiting, they did not.  WF is starting to feel like a big club, and you aren't in it.

I'm not interested in a witch hunt; I don't want employees fired or partners kicked out.  What I want is for this issue to be acknowledged.  I'd like for them to know that tenno are starting to feel unwelcome.  That the community team feels like a tight, homogeneous click that shares a lot of interest outside the game that players can't relate to.  I would like them to be more engaging and welcoming to all players.

While many do, we all don't love anime.  We don't all like knitting and drinking wine.  Not all of us like Zelda or Animal Crossing.  We all don't like Twilight.  But they ALL do, not some of them, ALL.  We love WF and tune in to hear more about it; that's what we ALL share in common.  I wish they were a better cross section to better engage with us.  And I wish that when we brought up concerns we weren't greeted with negativity.

I love the game and love the community but the growing divide in the community has allowed the negativity I feel about that to spill over to my feelings about the game/gameplay.  If they aren't producing awesome content anymore I have to wonder if it's because they aren't connecting with us.  While i'm happy about the new testers program they already have millions of beta testers that happily provide feedback.  I only wish that the community team would be better at receiving that feedback.

Overall, the message is being sent out in a fragmented manner. Sharing the message in a number venues is fine but there needs to be a more centralized "dashboard" to let people at least link to the nuggets of the message. The message is (slowly?) coming out but it is not concise and centralized and this will frustrate the player community.

Talk about burying the lead...over an hour and twenty three minutes (1:23 and 1:27 specifically) to get something even close to addressing the "tension"...it should have started the stream is this post mentions.

This (above) is a valid position to hold after watching the Dev stream. However, DE_Steve mentioned at 1:23 (1 hour 23 minutes) started talking about "recovering" from Scarlet Spear and the complications involved (focused on rerunning Scarlet Spear later). It wasn't addressing the overall "tension" of the player community...but did admit issues with Scarlet Spear.

For the DE team this dev stream probably feels like the stream DE_Rebecca mentioned "tension" was years ago...so the DE team simply have "moved past" the issue and is probably focusing on being "better" going forward.

1:27 (1 hour, 27 minutes) = Starts talking about "issues" which is probably what DE_Rebecca was talking during her Home Time video.

It doesn't meet the expected upfront, frank topic nearly as well as DE_Rebecca laid it out in the Home Time video...but it is at least something.

The problem is that DE seems to play favoritism.  That they create an environment where certain types of  people are more important than others.  We experience that everywhere in our daily life and appreciate escaping to a world where none of that matters.  Warframe used to feel like a place where it didn't matter what you looked like, how old your were, who you were attracted to, or you political leanings.  What is wrong with Warframe?  It felt different a year ago.  I'm doing everything the same but it's just not right

We go to forums, discord and youtube and find affirmation of these concerns.  One streamer addressed some of these issues so concisely that I was happy to have them speak on my behalf and was looking forward to hearing a response to the concerns they raised.

The solution: We have no affirmation that the problem is being fixed and worse no acknowledgment that they are aware of these problems. The problem is becoming the dogma in my opinion and I would like to use this forum to discuss this constructively and bring this to the attention of DE.

I love playing the game and have no issues with taking brakes when I need to.  The problem is not having a reason to come back.

Perhaps there was also a miscommunication by the rest of the team that the issues brought up in chat on the 14th would be addressed in the devstream.

I have no issue when the stream takes place.   I just hoped that when it did we would hear a response in regards to issues that were discussed by people in the homestream chat, and were told would be addressed in the devstream.  I'm merely pointing out that it seems coincidental that the stream was both pushed back and the content we were told they would discuss was missing.

I hope that in the future they will take an opportunity to discuss the issues brought up in chat on the 14th that the tenno were admonished for and were told would be talked about on the devstream.

Don’t be so cynical it was delayed because Reb’s cat passed away

I've heard others express this definitively.

However, with sensitivity to the subject, I was made aware of this sorrowful event per twitter on the 14th of April.

Yet as late as 8pm on the 16th it was confirmed on the homestream that the devstream would go ahead as scheduled.  Coincidentally this came seconds after admonishing the tenno in chat voicing their concerns about the game.  It was said that this would all be addressed 'tomorrowtm'.

As far as I know we were  informed that the stream would be canceled sometime on the 17th, the day of the stream, approximately 2hrs before it was due to start per this forum.

I hope you can understand from the series of events why some might question the reasoning behind postponing the stream.  As well as well as concerns that certain topics weren't covered, as we were told they would be, and instead were allowed to perhaps go away over time.

This is my attempt to constructively debate the assertions you provided and it is my hope to communicate to DE through this forum that I would respectfully like them to address the concerns brought forward by the tenno in chat that Megan commented on the 14th of April.

They didn't. They mentioned that they are working on restructuring the partner program, but no mention of how perceived favoritism/protection over a toxic individual is being addressed, if it even is.

I find this upsetting for a number of reasons:

-I was given the impression, from watching the official WF homestreams, as I do because I am a big fan of the game and eager to support it and learn more about it, that this would be addressed.  I feel that discussing this issue would go a long way to settling the 'tension' that was described in the Dev Stream today.

-It seems to me that there are, at least, two sets of rules for WF.  One that people like me must follow and another one for other, more preferential WF players.  As if there is a caste system within the Tenno.  I would like to discuss in a constructive manner whether it would be possible to treat all Tenno the same, whether it be by relaxing the censorship of certain individuals or applying that censorship more fairly across the board.

-It seems, to me and others I have seen posting, that it is not outside the realm of possibility that last weeks stream was postponed in part because of accusations of unfairness.  I wonder if we could discuss constructively if others would like to see a response to the issues outlined above, specifically favoritism.  I know from personal experiences that it doesn't feel good to be excluded or to feel that others are getting preferential treatment.  I know that I have felt unfairly penalized by censorship on the forums and chats and feel that it is unfair for others to get away with actions I could not take.  I wonder if it would be possible to make things more fair for all involved.  Again by giving all more freedom or taking away freedoms from those who abuse it.

I am interested in how you turned from optimistic to a total pessimist.

Not the person you asked but as this describes me I will answer.

I'm not, and haven't been worried about the game/gameplay.  In my opinion the game is great and that's why I have so many hours in it.  Any issues that come up are usually addressed quickly.  And there is always plenty of other content in the game for me to enjoy while they work out the bugs.

I'm more concerned about being welcome and don't think I am anymore.  I used to think Warframe was a place where everyone was welcome regardless of the issues that might keep up separated in real life.  Now it's beginning to feel, to me, like a highschool cafeteria; where if you aren't one of the 'cool kids' you're in the wrong place.  I've never experienced this feeling in real life, but i've seen enough tv shows to know I should probably start eating my lunch in the bathroom.

I wish I knew these things before so I could have made a more informed decision about starting the game.  It is my hope that DE might address some of the issues that others have put forth more eloquently than me so that I can return to enjoying something I like so much.

  12. Q: Where can I tell a Dev about my concerns about changes made to Warframe?

A: We welcome constructive feedback and always check the forums to get a sense of how our players feel about Warframe. It’s amazing that our players have cared so much about Warframe’s development since the very beginning! The public forums are the best place to share your feedback. We love to see constructive posts and the community’s responses to those posts. It helps us understand what we need to improve.

1b) DEVELOPER BASHING – Let’s face it, we aren’t perfect, we know this – we’re humans making a game. We work hard and read the forums with earnest care, so any insults will be cleaned up on the spot and not tolerated. Constructive feedback is encouraged and key to us improving the game.

    For clarification:
What is an insult? “This Warframe is trash, whoever came up with it should be fired.”
What is constructive feedback? Constructive feedback, whether positive or negative, is about detailing what the situation is, and use details/personal experiences to explain your reasoning as well as include ways to improve it, in your own words.

With all this in mind.  I am curious is the stream today addressed any of the concerns brought up by some people last week? Specifically in regards to favoritism and certain WF partners allegedly not honoring the rules.

Many have expressed that it seems like DE may have postponed the dev stream last week, at least partially,  because of video(s) a WF streamer(s) may have made.

It worries me that DE may not be responsive to these concerns.  Or perhaps they did discuss them and I just missed it.  If they did not discuss the comments that may have been made by a WF streamer(s) it is my hope that in the future they will.

What do you reckon made Warframe interesting in the first place?

For me the star-chart was where the action was.  I enjoyed the thrill of trying to make it through the system. At the time I thought that was the game and looked forward to conquering it.  I felt less rushed; not just racing to extraction.  I feel like the game rewarded players for exploring a bit or taking a moment to collect what was dropped.  I'm in the minority that thinks the story was always pretty trash and just appreciated that there wasn't much of it and I could wrap my head around what little there was.  Of course I wanted more story/lore; I just don't appreciate what we got.

I liked the small amount of 'end game' content I perceived.  I enjoyed the two raids I experienced, one much more than the other.  I liked that we had to form a large group (eight players).  And the care we had to take to put together the right squad and the cooperation/planning it took to be successful.  And of course the rewards that felt....rewarding.

The quests seemed like they could have been better, both because of story and some of the gameplay mechanics they would employ.  But there weren't many of them and I mostly enjoyed what we got.

But most of all I enjoyed the void.  It seemed somewhat like endgame content and I could run the defense and survival missions for hours.  It was fun battling the enemy's as part of a well coordinated squad.  The progression from mowing down enemies to having a good battle to having my ass handed to me felt balanced.  It was a simpler time; kill the baddies.  It was fun and I was a god space ninja.

-I thought we would have more space to conquer, new star charts to explore: the Andromeda Offensive, the Proxima Paradox.

-As others have said I think there are too many weapons and frames.

-I honestly didn't need stuffed animals or guitars or even mining or fishing or flying.  They're fun but don't keep me coming back to this world.

-Titanfall 2 had a great story that pulled me in.  A big part of it's success was the dialog/vo's that were engaging. Give me that please.

-Incentivize team play and give me a reason not to just rush to extraction asap. Reward me for sticking around and testing my grit.

-They can have more of my plat/money, just give me things I actually want for it.  Like different poses for my profile, for instance.

-Make the DE community team engaging. If your going to grace us with a stream give me a reason to watch it other than some reward/prize.

You asked and I answered but I don't want to criticize.  Other than the last issue on the list DE does an outstanding job and seriously deserves all the praise they get.  You keep building it and we'll keep coming.

I'm in the minority that loves the game.  Admittedly I didn't download  it so many years ago so that I could run around scanning things that other people are trying to kill or to go fishing or play the guitar but I still find the game very fun.  More importantly I enjoy the universe DE created.  A game, a community and creators that are engaging.  It has always been a world I could escape to from this one.  A world that wasn't plagued by the issues we face daily; without politics or agendas.  That just doesn't seem the case anymore.  These are the issues that are making me not enjoy the game.

Regardless of any problems I have ever had with the game I could always count on the fact the creators loved it and were doing what they do because of that.  That doesn't seem like they're main goal anymore.  It's not about fun, it's not about profit, it's about something they value  so much more.

  20. WF has made it clear, recently, that they do not care whether I enjoy or even play the game.  I am just curious as to whether that goes just for me or for the entire player base.

I feel like we have seen many IP's that find it more important to fulfill their own agenda's rather than cater to the existing fanbase; even at the cost of success/profit.  I feel that WF is going down that path.
