I didn't/don't take this as coming from a place of insensitivity but from a place of caring and concern and I understand the points you're raising as well as the questions.

There's an interview Mandy Patinkin did here - https://www.npr.org/2012/10/05/162383428/mandy-patinkin-25-years-after-the-princess-bride-hes-not-tired-of-that-line

And there's parts that really resonate with me now. Though my son is still here for some more time I think the interview at the link begins to kind of explain where I'm coming from. Excerpt here -

"Despite the laughter, the story of Inigo and his father struck a nerve with Patinkin, whose own father had died a few years before filming. "I would walk through the maze of the gardens while I was just trying to relax or while they were lighting the scene, and I was talking to my father, who had died not that many years before we made the film, and I always had it in my mind that if I could get the six fingered man, if Inigo could get the six fingered man, then my father, Mandy's father, would come back and be with me.""

    Thank you for reaching out.

Despite my concerned perspective, I do think 'The Sacrifice' quest is tragically beautiful- and I can see how it resonates with you, almost artistically. Im happy that Warframe could offer at least this much for you. Wishing you and your family the best experiences and most beautiful moments in the time you have together.

  2. My condolences op, but something about this seems rather concerning. In a time of devastating tragedy such as this, where the real world will be forever darker, is thinking about how this could fit into your warframe obsession as RP really the healthiest relationship to have with a video game? And how one of your more recent realizations is how this horror has somehow determined your new "main" playable character in said video game and to discuss your revelation on forums??

I understand people have their ways of coping, forgive me if i come off as insensitive. This just seems worthy of concern and reevaluation of priorities, in my eyes

Healing Return is weird as hell. You have to inflict a status proc with the weapon it's installed on, then hit that same enemy without killing them, to activate the healing. Since the return is per status type per hit, a weapon that can throw out a lot of quick strikes without initially dealing a lot of damage is best. It's unfortunately a very poor substitute for what Life Strike used to do.

shh, that might make some sense, actually..

it would be cool if exalted blade's heavy melee were to cast the original slash dash and heavy slam would cast radial javalin. then exalted blade would be able to utilize new heavy attack system.

    now there's a thought

I checked while testing lifestrike andhealing return for OP- wave's work with healing return

Without building for lifestrike you can deal a lot of damage, I don't find myself falling off much in damage at higher levels, only in survivability, which could be circumvented by changing radial javelin to be more useful- if we really wanted to make lifestrike work well for him then just have slash dash count as a heavy attack and scale off eb mods, this won't be glamorous and it will need a range boost, but it could work well enough- If we really want to talk about exalted weapons that need buffs, let's look at wukong and valc not excal- his damage is fine, his survivability could increase by changing his third ability since it has no place- they are in far more trouble

Healing Return works indefinitely in the simulacrum, not so much in the actual missions for some reason. At least that's been my experience

Ok- Played around a bit with life strike compared to healing return- Lifestreak heal is definetly greater and with a 720 hp exalted umbra even without killing blow I could heal from 200 to max against a group of 8 lvl 100 heavy gunners in one hit- my advise for you since you don't want to get fked in close range by having to heavy attack is to use heavy ground slam- at least in the simulacrum you still recieve the heals but it has a much faster cast and will apply lifted to all the enemies for you- if you still don't like that use a status application weapon like cyanex ahead of time before striking with eb for healing- it still won't heal as much though- If you are really worried about getting screwed using heavy attacks perform a slide attack first with eb to blind enemies before you start the charge- ultimately I would just channel ground slam though- it can travel a distance, cc's enemies on landing, and heals you a bunch

    Sighh.. not much choice currently

Exalted blade is actually the only exalted melee who’s performance is pretty much unchanged.

It's far too weak compared to regular melee's to even be able to justify its energy waves gimmick. The only value it had before was being able to heal yourself during your onslaught with lifestrike.

And before you say "just use heavy attacks", literally no one uses exalted blade for charged attacks; that's obviously not what it was designed for. That was tacked on and imposed due to this new direction they've decided was worth implementing.

  8. At the very least, allow EB's heavy to also send out an energy wave, so that it would be worth even using the damn ability. With Lifestrike being a heavy attack mod, I find myself putting EB away more often than actually making any use of it, and spamming my dragon nikana's heavy swing. High level enemies are just too painful to not have a reliable healing mechanic saving you from impending death.

And is it just me, or does Healing Return just not work at all? Or at least only when it wants to? With 100% status chance, should I not be seeing health returned on literally every swipe? Even if this were to be the case, it's still not enough when you're surrounded.

Ideally, I'd love for Channeling to make a return, and for Lifestrike to be a Channeling mod. I can barely justify ever using EB anymore; it does far less damage than my nikana, and I can't even use it long enough to take advantage of it's range and speed before my health drops too low to recover from.

  9. I don't think I fully understood exactly how juggling and comboing replaces something as versatile as channeling. Seriously, why remove it entirely?? It simply detracts from the experience, as opposed to improving it. You now literally have less options to play with. But they've added a *very* useful "tactical dodge", as if constantly moving isn't the name of the game.

I feel like it could've easily been kept along with the new melee changes/additions, same as how they brought back melee toggle. I understand many people don't find use in channeling, but some of us do.

Admittedly, I'm concerned on the count of the fact that they didn't really touch on what exactly they've done to channeling mods, not even providing any examples of what to expect. And in that fog, I'm left cold and afraid, desperately clutching onto my precious Life Strike, as I anxiously brace myself for the worst possible result.

  10. This is so meaningless it's hard even giving it the respect of a response.

Warframe is a live service game; the whole point of it's design is that it can be continuously developed and further built upon, without need of any form of sequel. And what would a sequel do other than divide your strong, hard earned player base? There is nothing a sequel would bring that could not just be added to the current build. New star charts, new game modes, new engine, new game play mechanics, new anything- Warframe is structured for any and all conceivable additions/redesigns.

  11. +1000. Was looking at my gf's kubrow the other day and all i could think of was how horribly dated it looked. The new hairstyles for operator's are a step up from the base styles, though, I'll give DE that much.

As for fur on armor/kubrows, i don't even mind if it's statically placed with implied flow and textured to look full and soft, or have the hair be chunky locks of clumped hair with minimal movement ala games like Overwatch and For Honor. It's a stylistic approach that looks infinitely better than the horribly ugly wire we have now

And you are going to tell the Chinese they are wrong in their understanding of their own culture?

Anyone can adapt/reimagine anyone/thing/deity as any shape/form. It's an important part of storytelling, to add interesting and new perspectives that otherwise could not be depicted. Though you've completely derailed that topic of discussion by fault of misunderstanding the word "adaptation"

why not? monetization? grind? or something else?

Without getting too off topic, the game's a glorified mobile game, massive cash grab and time sink, with god tier combat animations and graphics (thats the initial pull). You wouldnt catch up to the top 5% starting now anyway, I had full TET/TRI gear and accessories and wasnt close. But once you do start to see traction, and finally start hanging around heidel arenas (and you will), pvp is an absolute joke. There once was a time where pvp wasn't *completely* broken by a fateful change they made incentivizing stronger gear and overpowering the already top geared back in march of 2018, but I'm getting ahead of myseld.

In short, bdo is a shallow albeit beautiful experience with little payoff by the time you've realized all you've done was meaningless.

    But yeah ninja op

funny that you should get a Black desert artwork, i intend to try that game, and still need to pick a class.

not saying the skin is bad, it's quite a work of art, but I've always preferred Swords over Armour in the case of the Japanese: the new Dax Nikanas with the Duviri update... sweet Teshin PLEASE let there be another Two-Handed Nikana! Tatsu is great but I need more!

As a long time avid player of black desert, i can both reccomend picking ninja if you want to deck anyone and everyone, and also to never get involved in that game ever

I don't like that oversized Blindfold-thing he's got going on. eye coverings can be cool, but that one's OTT for my taste.

I believe Liger Inuzuka is emulating the straw hat samurai in a fleshy, connected to helmet manner, as we've seen in a few warframe helmets that have a "hat" fitted organically and partly on the helmet itself
