Desecrate is a toggled passive, turn it on and go ham. Highly recommend the Despoil augment to make it cost health instead of energy. As for subsumables for the 1st ability, if you want to have your shadows do proper damage, get nourish, if not then it is up to personal preference. Nourish also helps with energy economy too.
