The whole random loadout thing being tied to challenge is such a false equivelancy.

Right on. Circuit and DA don't push my strongest builds, they ask me to collect a bunch of gear I don't care about in order to reduce the odds of being handicapped by a bad roll. Collecting stuff isn't "endgame challenge," it's low level grinding. There's a puzzle solving element that can be fun sometimes, but that's not what I'd call "endgame challenge" either, and it's really not hard when you do get a good roll. I don't need DE to force a handicap on me, I'm perfectly capable of removing all my mods and/or choosing garbage gear all by myself. There's no reason DE shouldn't be able to figure out how to challenge our strongest Saryns and Revenants.

They really need to rework ember's 4th. Poor LOS, and disconnected from ember's theme. Ember, makes EMBERS, not space rock.

YES someone else gets my pain. Why does the pyro throw rocks? Why isn't it called Meteor like in every other game? Do they even know what "inferno" means?

Ember was my damage main before they massacred my girl. Sure nerf the low level afk nuking but like, they outright deleted Accelerant which was her most fun and synergistic ability to me, it had absolutely nothing to do with low level afk nuking, and to add insult to injury THEY INSTEAD KEPT USELESS FIREBALL DEAR GOD WHY. The rework overall isn't unplayable but it's basically a worse version of Gara who was already my tank main. RIP Ember, I'd pay good plat for an Ember Umbra with her original kit, her 4 scaled properly now of course.

I absolutely disagree with that take. This only means you never built your stuff fully.

No argument there, I prefer quality over quantity with my loadouts. If that means I sit this one out, so be it. If it's your thing, enjoy!

This mode is difficulty for the sake of difficulty so not sure fun was ever part of the plan.

Feels like it's more about compelling players to grind every piece of gear in the game to guarantee good rolls, at which point the mode isn't even hard. Compulsion is just as good or even better than fun for the game corporations when it comes to driving those delicious engagement numbers. No thanks, I'll wait for the day DE can release a game mode that's just normal Warframe but actually challenges the builds I've spent years practicing and perfecting.

  5. I never imagined the "endgame minmax" crowd to have much overlap with the "collect all the stuff" crowd. I'd love to really push the builds I've invested in practicing and perfecting over the years, but that's not what this is, the main thing you're minmaxing for is to minimize the odds of a bad gear roll, which means grinding a lot of stuff you don't care about.

If I wanted to play a random gear roguelike I'd go do that. This mode doesn't even have the emergent progression that roguelikes do, it just piles handicaps on. I've had plenty of years to remove all my mods and walk into SP Mot if that's the sort of challenge I wanted. Can I walk into a mission with my own gear and immediately fight high level enemies? Nope still can't.

Hard pass. Circuit was fine, okay, whatever, but no desire to do it again, especially not a worse version of it. I really don't care about the rewards, I have enough Archon Shards after a year of occasionally doing the weekly hunts, just wanted a fun high level game mode. Too bad, was really looking forward to coming back.

Sorry to disagree (cause I just hate Kahl missions in general) but there is a warframe way to get shards and its called archon hunt.

Yea you can get half the shards playing WF while the 2nd shard is exclusive to one of the most godawful minigames ever coded. It should not be.

You should be able to get all the WF rewards by playing WF, and 1 shard per week is a joke when you don't play this game religiously every week and month.

  7. Kahl and now Duviri are alternate game modes with very little to do with the core content, yet both of these hard block important core game progression systems, the Archon Shards and Incarnon Genesis adapters. These are Warframe rewards that are only useful when full Arsenals are available, therefore these should be earnable from Warframe game modes where they are actually relevant. There's no need to remove Kahl or Duviri as an alternate source for these things, but as an exclusive source it kills interest in keeping up with the progression of this game for core Warframe lovers who have no desire to spend their valuable time on "some other game" just to progress in Warframe. Now to preempt some posts:

"Haha you don't get the rewards! Loser!"

"You can just quit Warframe if you don't like it!"

"But there's other stuff to do, like replaying base star chart E-Prime."

"Suck it up, games aren't supposed to be fun, you gotta EARN your rewards like a job!"

"My time isn't valuable, therefore neither is yours."

Hopefully so. If not, please finally remove it, running those incredibly boring and non-warframe mission is one of the worst experiences this game as to offer. Once in a week is already more than what should be acceptable. In fact, I still don't get why you even made the choice to gatekeep archon shards, one of the most powerful endgame item FOR WARFRAMES behind that mind-numbingly bland side project.

Seriously can we get a WARFRAME source for the 2nd Shard? It's like they actively want "endgame" players to burn out, stop asking for core content, and go away, so that they can finally just make cheap shallow mobile minigames for an audience that wants only that. The game mode is old enough by now, they eventually added other sources for things like kuva and umbra forma, and I'll bet my whole account that the build system brings a lot more players back than "omg gotta play Kahl this week." Can say similar things about the Duviri roguelite mode gating the Incarnon build system behind side content that has nothing to do with anything you'd use Incarnons for.

As much as I agree, I have a better idea. Make Kahl go fast, literally. Make him as fast as warframes are, and then we can not only do all challenges at once consistently, but also get rid of most of the suffering these missions entail.

Same here, it would be tolerable if Kahl could move even as fast as 90s Doom Guy or a Borderlands vault hunter. He's like a three-legged donkey, it's horrible. Slowing down the pace to something chunkier and heavier does not have to mean making your character miserable to control...

    1. Actually for me its a big nerf, not all peps play Saryn for her's 1, and 4, after helminth system i replaced her 4 with Smite to give Smite Infusion with combined with Venom Dose, and Toxic Lash, with high power strenght, makes saryn kill everything by using weapons, eaven faster than chroma.

Same here actually, my Saryn Xata Nukor additive crit setup was the only thing that could clear rooms in Steel Path Mot faster than melee. It's like they want late game minmaxing to be a Wispnaros Roar gunblade keyboard drool festival followed by 3 hours of spamming your 1.5 dispo Whipclaw statstick on the same choke point. Obviously there are plenty of viable off meta or jank setups even on Steel Path but most players inevitably follow the path of least resistance.

I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to compare here but you should really elaborate so people can understand you better.

It was a cool interaction that made an underappreciated niche ability pretty good, but hardly meta moving, and they mucking nerfed it, for what? It's not even the part of Saryn people constantly complain about, nor was it nearly the meta defining mountain of degenerate nonsense that statsticks and gunblades are. I've defended DE nerfs before but come on, if you're not going to nerf the actually overpowered garbage, then stop nerfing weird niche things like gas procs, using guns with Hydroid 3, very slowly setting up AoE room clears with MFD, and now one of the few cases where Xata's Whisper was actually worth using over Roar or Eclipse or whatever.
