  1. Every time I hear anyone working or thinking of the new players experience I have nodded in agreement, but not knowing how to tackle it.

That all changed when the fire nation attacked /u/novaphaux posted the following:

DE needs to make Teshin's training grounds.

This is the single best suggestion I've heard/read and it includes a staging area that specifically addresses the problem new players have when they don't know what to do. Not many go to the codex, but being led to an actual training ground where you can ask a guy for advice ingame is great. I have pasted his post here so you don't have to go through the link, but do go and give him some thoughts of what you like dislike.

    Quote

    The Rubicon Maru.

As a new player freshly completed Vor's Prize, The Lotus sends you to investigate an active Orokin signal on an encrypted channel she detected.

You arrive in the quest instance on Earth's jungles and keep progressing through the stage with no enemies. Lotus note the abadonment of the base and will give some exposition to the Orokin and the empire.

Once you arrive at the mission waypoint, you see it is a large area at the base of Everest. The area is backgrounded by a waterfall hosting an audience of balancing logs. Stone piled pillars, old cloth targets, dogwood teees, a striking log, bamboo shoots and a small looking Asian inspired stone looking house dot the area.

Your immerssion with the area is then shattered as you are then ambushed by, at this time, an Unknown Dax Soldier. Lotus warns you about the Dax and Teshin will understandably and should be able to kick the new player's posterior. However, before he delivers the finishing blow, he spares you.

"In sleep and absense, you have been unmade Tenno." (cut here for modularity) I am Teshin Dax, master of the waters you tread, if you wish to stay afloat then I will not deny you climbing out of the water and unto the mountain. (cut here again) Come with me and I will show you what you have unlearned."

Lotus would then exposition once more on Teshin. Thought of him long dead, but an ally you can learn much from. Teshin will then acknowledge the Lotus with his distrust of her but relents that there is more to be gained working with her than apart.

Reload Room, Zone and quest now considered complete.

The grounds are now similar to Cephalon Simarius Mastery Rank Training room.

Teshin the centerpiece, when asked, will give hints to where the player needs to go next.

For example, Some items may have a context breadcrumb via Ordis and codex.

"Your journey is long, the cries of the innocent many, find peace amongst the star for them tenno." [clear your starmap hint] "A final tower's light is overshadowed by an ancient threat, make your way to the Plains on earth Tenno." [POE hint] "The Lotus has many secrets, but not even the deepest oceans of Uranus can hide them, unveil them if you dare." [Natah Hint] "My curiosity and your wellbeing will never cross paths Tenno, do not dare follow." [War Within Hint] "Look inside yourself, hone yourself, grind the gem within until you gleam in the perfection of light and hope" [grats you beat the game up to this point go forma something hint]

Around the room are then example by showing tutorials the player can contextually launch. Some of which may contain a challenge mode and leadet boards. Starting with the advanced movement tutorial.

Other tutorials are subjects such as a refresher of Vors Prize's lessons. A hacking console of every type, Archwing(viewable but locked until quest complete) Stealthing without powers, Damage Types, Scanning, Melee combos, Operator Combat (not viewable but unlocked after required events) and anything else that requires work on the mission field to complete. Hell fishing and mining if needed. Anytime DE adds a new in the field system, they must simultaneously update this area with a new tutorial node and or update the relevant node that got replaced. Ie parkour 3.0 or adding in combat systems related to the sacrifice cinimatic quest.

This area will then continue to serve as the 'while you were gone' area. Some tutorials will be unlocked once the system has been unlocked otherwise they're fully accessible.

Anytime the player revisits the area they will instantly load into this room instead.

"In sleep and absense, you have been unmade Tenno. Come with me and I will show you what you have unlearned."

"Time has worn your blade down, bask here under the heat and forge of training to sharpen your witts and blade once more."

The Tutorial phases of each room SHOULD NOT BE VOICED step by step. There may be an intro to give you the gist of what you are there to learn but DE needs to utilize the floaty text in order to keep VO work down and allow reworks should the system change and give players the time to contextualize the instructions.

There is also a reflecting pool where they can browse the council tips at anytime.

TLDR; Similar to Cephalon Simarus room a while you where gone tutorial room.

Also, Ordis needs his own interaction node on the ship to ask him on ship-based systems (foundry, mods, arsenal, relics ect ect)

Edit Spelling grammer, reflecting pool, and name of the grounds. Open to suggestions, critism ideas and more.

This also serves to show new players who the hell Teshin is. You know. Before the quest suddenly makes him important and all.

No, and for those going on about it preventing AFK leechers? There are already other anti afk mechanics in place that don't actively break the flow of the game or kneecap what normal people just playing the game cn accomplish. As is? If I see the orb I have to rush over there after determining if it's a good idea and or maybe wait for a huge horde of enemies. That is me breaking from the objective, breaking from the squad, and prioritizing myself over the group. This is inherently selfish in a squad based game.

Emphasis mine. This is also a very good reason to remove it since people all disappear once a CO spawns, leaving whatever objective was being defended at the time.

Removing the CO still wouldn't positively affect afk leechers very much since they would have to be in range of affinity. Defense and Interception excluded.

  3. To explain further what I mean, since after reading it again made me think of it.

What we should get is passively gain the amount of experience we get from CO, but maybe reduce it to 1/4th of it.

Right now. The way we gain focus benefit only those that truly focus on it. Which we were told were not gonna be the case. It would be a kind of in the background focus mastery of a school that we would gain.

instead with the changes and removal of CO, the focus farmers wouldn't be hurt by the change.
the ones that do it once in a while would see a good buff in their focus gain over time
and then the ones that hardly have the time for it would see a significant buff since they would now always gain at least some for any mission they do with lvl 30 equipment that has a lens.

  4. As it stands now with the Convergence Orb (CO), focus only benefits those that actively farm for it. for a long time.

I remember DE talking about how focus would be a passive way to improve your overall character (operator, but they kept that hush hush).
instead what we have now is a system that is:

    • easy to max out for those that grind it with purpose. Like special builds built for the purpose of farming focus.
    • hard for passive players to max out, never reaching the focus cap.
    • hardly no middle ground to gain focus.

Since it seems the CO is a relic from when there was no cap and no CO so people were farming like crazy.

My proposal is that CO is removed and focus is gained passively at all times. Lenses might have to be reduces a bit to make up for 100% up time, but otherwise that's it.
We will gain a much more smooth experience for the casual players that can only get a bit of gaming done a day to almost not affecting those that farm focus hardcore since they might just save 20 mins total from their focus farming routine to hit focus cap. We get:

    • Hardcore farmers will still be maxing out their focus cap in under 2 hours
    • The players that made an effort to collect the Convergence Orb will be gaining focus at a higher rate and might get to see the focus cap some times. Some might even start focusing more on focus gains.
    • The players that usually got between 0-4000 focus during normal play will be seeing a much smoother experience from when they first unlock focus
      • They still might not hit the focus cap due to not being able to play long enough, but they will at least gain something.

What do you all think? Is the Convergence Orb really needed anymore since we have a cap anyway?
PS: Make the basic lenses craftable from the quills. New players will see it when it is appropriate and going weeks before you unlock your first lens will hopefully not happen. Because it shouldn't

  5. TL;DR Sentinels unpack and attach to kubrows and kavats

Right now we have PoE, which is an island of resources not used outside of PoE. Inside PoE there is fishing, mining, and bounties to do for Ostron standing, which is in itself an island. Then The Quills standing which is also an island.

What if there were blueprints at the end of both the Quills and Ostron that enable us to reconfigure our sentinels to be a backpack (sort of like armor is now for Kubrows) that enables the positive sides of a sentinel, but without the weapon, with the awesome side of Kubrows and Kavats.

The Sentinels would have to be toned down once they're unfurled onto a kubrow so it doesn't go too overboard with tons of sentinel mods on top of kubrow/kavat mod. But it would be a possible way to give vacuum for pets while keeping the commitment people have put into sentinels.

The reason I'm suggesting it like this is because I remember reading that sentinels are actually living beings. So blueprints would require many different reagents the Ostron and the Quills. Brilliant Shards, perfect cores, minerals, and Fish oil! among other things. The fish oil is to lubricate the transition the sentinel makes smooth and glitch free of course!

What does everyone else and DE think? Am i talking out of my &#! and should get back to work? Hope this can be talked about at least.

  6. There's still a problem. If you Quills standing isn't dividable by 100 (the lowest amount you can get), you can't turn in an Intact Core to get to max standing.

I am now stuck needing 75 standing to rank up, but can't since trying to turn in an Intact Core results in a prompt that says i have max standing so can't use said item.

  7. When me and another played the resource quest in the Vor questline it counted our total resource stacks together. so when we got to the 2nd stash it said we had 4 and our mission was complete, but if you complete it then you will lose out on the last stash of resources.

I had already completed this quest, friend had not. If that makes a difference.

I like my Ash so he had to be there.
And if it wasnt because they kept despawning so fast, i would have the whole wall pinned with only this mob.

It was the first mob i shot in the head when i started playing, and the exploding head made me love these guys :D

  9. About the mod. there could be a room that enables mods for the whole clan. Like 4 mods available and there could be mods like
10% of resources gained added to clan vault

20%-50% faster revive on clan members

After reviving clan members they recieve 30% extra shield for 30 seconds

2,5-10% more damage on all weapon types

And maybe the room would be "Clan mods" (stupid name) and it would start with giving the clan 1 clan mod slot. and upgradeable to 4.

Where 2 is the max for a small clan, - up to 15 or so is a small clan. or maybe 10.

And yeah. the time is insane. Never been in a clan myself, but I've read a lot of the times it has taken and seen the math.

Imo the hallways should be something like 3 hours per person worth and rooms at 8-12 depending on size. That way the .hallways wont seem like it is crazy to get.

    And another thing:
If this was implemented then a dojo would have a small room that would serve like an entrance to a nice cozy room.

And then as you upgrade your clan size you have to upgrade your starting room. So it starts out as a cozy room for 5-10 people. then it builds into a grand hall. That would also mean that you would probably not be able to build behind the starting building because it would interfere with upgrading your entrance room. or set aside a big enough area for the entrance room so you wouldnt be able to build into it:)

    A small edit:
There would be a blueprint for upgrading your clan size and another for upgrading your entrance room. that way you can still upgrade your entrance to be awesome, without having to upgrade your clan size:)

  10. An idea i just thought of since watching around the 30 minute mark of the livestream

A mod that gives you 10% extra resources straight to your clan vault.

Perhaps that would be the mod maxed out. 10% is still a lot. And on the concern of stuff like gallium it could be a 50% chance of adding it, with a 100% chance on every 5th you find.

    Or something:)

    Gimme your thoughts:D

  11. Thank you very much:)

Just bear in mind that it will still take over a month of playing to get a minimum of 1 of every room:)

This is from watching the first 20 mins of the livestreem #6 where Steve said that they want it to take a long time. So i was thinking more than a month:)

  12. What if clans could have a max amount of people in it?

So first when you make a clan, you can have x amount of people in it - and then the dojo costs would be fixated around the max number of people in that clan.

So it starts out with you making a clan, you can have 10 people in it at maximum, and the dojo starts with a blueprint in it that can expand your clan size to 25 or 50 people. And then the prices also increase to accomodate your bigger guild.

So you have 10 people having fun, but then they think they want to expand so they get the requirements for the expand clan blueprint and then it takes 1 hour, or perhaps less, to complete.

With up to 25 clan member the dojo prices will be a bit expencive for just 10 people so they go out and find more, and when they are 25 people it will in total make it faster to make dojo parts now compared to when they were a 10 man clan.

This is so that having 100 people WILL make it faster to get things than 10 people, but not so much that it would be a must. Perhaps 100 people will have everything they need in 6-8 weeks, while 10 people will have it in 7-9 weeks. depending on play time. Where really hardcore would be perhaps a few days faster, and the casual 2 hours per day would be about 10 weeks or more.

This process will continue on and on untill a cap.

Put in perspective a little. I made this post after watching the livestream and that they didn't want things to be available in an evening, but a lot longer.

Another thing could be that you can only have 0-2 of a sort of room depending on how many people you are.

So a 10 man clan can only have 1 of each thing (which will make things slower compared to a 80 man clan that can have 8 of them (yes it could be a +1 for stuff for every 10 people allowed into the clan).

    Prices

About the prices and such I'm thinking that if you are 10 people then it will take about a week to get materials for 1-2 connectors and 1 of the higher end rooms. if you grind for 4-6 hours each every day. That way it will not seem like an eternity and to get a huuuuge dojo it will take a couple of weeks at minimum. Like the devs said in the latest livestream about having long term goals.

The max amount of people the clan can have will increase by 5 or 10 every time. so that when you decide to upgrade your clan size, youre not forced to recruit a lot of people because you're now so far from the cap that it costs a lot. So perhaps small size increments to avoid that, and then have the blueprints craftable pretty quickly, perhaps only requiring credits. And perhaps an increasing amount of credits when you get really high.

The starting Dojo i would also like to think that it would be able to start having as a relative low level player. So that you and your friends can make a clan when you start, and then in a weeks time of casual play, you can have a small (like 1-2 small cozy rooms) that you can call home. Now you and your friends have a home so now you can start building up your home throughout the game while you find new things and what not.

This would ofcourse make it so that finding your first key could happen fast, like a 20% chance untill you have your first. after that it would be down to its original.

    Layout

The layout and availability of clans should also be remade for a few reasons

    - Noob friendly

I'm a relative noob i would say. Have 70 hours played so maybe not. But i had a hard time finding the clan button when update 8 came out. like really... took me quite a while to find it was in the contacts since from its name i thought it was friends and blocked people. not that it would be this small little window that could potentially show hundreds of people. (also the button doesnt make me thing that this is a clan button so never clicked it for quite a while (only the first time i saw it then never since)).

the solution would a menu of its own

Like in the top there are arsenal - contacts and what not. honestly cant remember it all^^

When the button "Clan" was clicked, it would show a big window. about the same width and height that the arsenal covers in total.

On the left it would show a menu:
    Members
    About
    Rules
Applications (officers only (will get back to that at the end))

and so on. Maybe not those exactly but you get the idea.

The menu would perhaps be able to expand and have subcategories. the left miniwindow would only take out about 1/4 of the width in total.

The rest would show what you had clicked in the menu.

The default page when opening would be members

This idea i think would be easy to start with and because the clan system right now doesnt have any funtionality then it could be implemented easy because right now the only thing that would be needed in the menu would be "members" and then it would show all the members and that is it. The rest can come later:)

Have a search for clan sub menu under clans. (and show that if you are already in a clan it should remind you that you would have to find a new dojo key if you change clan).

    - clan searching

    It would show
Clan name | total members/total members available | Small 50 word thing about themselves | total members online in 2 the last 2 weeks.

Then a button (perhaps before the name or at the very end of the line) that would say "Apply".

There you could write your application for the guild officers to read and vote.

I know that at the moment there is the forum to search as well as www.reddit.com/r/warframeclanrecruit, but for those that want an ingame way of sending a message.

There could be more things to show under clan recruitment but that is what i got so far.

    Guild application system

About the guild application system it would go sort of like this:
For a person without clan he would search through the looking for clan window (default window when you click "Clan" without having a clan).
He would search for one that fit him and click apply and write his application (perhaps a 500 word maximum?).

The guild officers would then be able to vote yes or no (and state their reason in 30 words or so) and then a clan leader or an officer with that can invite people to clan can then invite the person based on the votes.
The votes shouldnt make a person not be able to join, just to show what the other officers think. and then the inviter can then think about the others' opinion before he invites.

That is all i got. Sorry for making it so hard to discern but I hope I made it at least somewhat readable:)

Every number I've used are just an example and should ofcourse be thought about long and hard before implemented to make the best thought out solution:)

Please give feedback about how it could be in your eyes and what you would change and why:)

Hope this could be implemented so that
