900-1200 endo, sculptures I can use and sell, Arcane Primary Charger and Melee Charger, and Adaptation. What's not to like?

Endo is plentiful enough in multitudes of other places, sculptures that become eyesores and useless for the former reason, most arcanes only have niche uses if any at all such as APC and AMC only being consistently useful on Wukong, and four whole good mods don't outweigh all of the other useless mods.

but from this veteran's POV, it just looks overly complicated for the purpose of being overly complicated.

Have you ever been to an arcade? Put a dollar in at the Clerk's desk to get 5 coins and then slot it into the machine? Yeah, you do that except with the mangled, bullet-ridden remains of the Arbitration Drones and your buddy's corpse. Overly complicated? How did you even get to Arbitrations if you didn't play Index once?

This should also grant you buffs befitting eating like less energy consumption e.t.c.

Not going to lie, I hated the mechanic in FFXV and I'll hate it now. Not to mention, I don't enjoy watching anyone eat for any reason, even in videogames. I enjoy knowledge that they do human things, like if I hear food exists in the game and that they say "x tastes like x" but watching my operator sit down and eat food? I'd rather not, nor would I rather have recruiting even more isolated by having people go "you need to have Limbo, Exodia Contagion, maxed Madurai, Arcane Fury and Arcane Blade Charger and uh... Horrasques steak'ums to join."

  4. No reason to use the other abilities in starchart missions. What, you're going to decoy the enemies that die in one shot? Blind and share damage to enemies already losing 3% of their health to the shock mote? Summon a portal to the sun to move more slowly as you kill enemies just as fast?

You'll rarely see these abilities used until you're in a point of the game where the abilities are required to be used. Say... Sortie 3 level on some sort of elemental enhancement, or an endless mission.

  5. Slash received a single change, and it was that it no longer bypasses shields. The only time Slash is "bad" is if you're trying to watch enemies die automatically while you do nothing else, against enemies who have one or more shield drones around them. Other than that, Corpus' total lifespan didn't change much at all. Toxin still does the same, but more effectively as it always has.

  6. I don't have a problem with it, I can see and interpret combos with my own personal buffs just fine unless I'm playing max strength Volt, Wisp or Valkyr and I don't need combos to be -- and I'm paraphrasing here -- pretty. I need them to be effective.

If you're worrying about your melee weapons being pretty, you're probably not looking for endurance level content where effectiveness matters most. As it stands, melee at and slightly above Sortie level is fine with minimal mods. There's a distinct reason why Heavy Attack Reaper Prime and so forth builds exist, it truly isn't difficult to make a build that replaces most attack speed mods for additional damage or combo count to achieve a cinematic effect. In fact, it's more likely you'll need to just remove the attack speed to replace them with nothing in order to keep enemies from dying before you get through a small set of animations.

Please be honest, have you actually tried?

In arbitration disruptions specifically, survivals are boring. 120 consoles, or 30 waves, enemies are around 300 and I only play Excalibur unless I'm playing Excavation which is just painful without Frost. I only had trouble with the Hyena Demolyst of all the factions who could one shot you if you weren't paying attention with their radial, which actually has the ability to do that far earlier than 300 because I'm pretty sure it's glitched and doing multiples of the damage it's supposed to.

    7 hours ago, Xaero said:

I'm pretty indifferent to armor buffs honestly, it's more important to me that Excal gets DR implemented into his skillset. It could just be slapped on Radial Javelin and work in the same way Furious Javelin does: the more enemies you hit, the higher the DR percentage (up to a certain cap).

This idea has been said, along with replacing Radial Javelin entirely as it's a pretty useless ability. Far better threads than this for Excalibur discussion. I'd rather they not look at this, apply it, and then forget about these frames for another 3 years.

Umbra what..? Are you talking about the mods not exclusive to Umbra?

AFKing in Operator mode as Umbra has existed since the day the quest released.

So, a melee-focused frame shouldn't be able to take damage? Yet a ranged frame like Mesa should?

He takes enough damage, and lives perfectly fine. Mesa, in her simplest design concept, stands still in Peacemaker, which is why Shattershield exists with the sole purpose of reducing bullet damage, yet no AoE or melee damage. It was fine as a design concept, Excalibur simply has two abilities that are being ignored by DE.

Edit: Essentially, the design was to replicate Equilibrium's gun kata without just making the enemies completely unable to hit you, but still keeping that "movie magic." Of course, as history tell it didn't work considering how many times it's been changed and nerfed.

Let's say, you're at about an hour mark of Survival Arbitration, with 200+ level enemies. What would you do to keep yourself alive? Spam Slash Dash or Radial Blind without a window to attack and pray your teammates will do the job for you? You'd be better off going into Operator mode and spam Void Dash then. And what if you're solo?

Simply by playing the exact same way as I play in level 50s. By killing things, using Radial Blind if enemies are positioned too erratically, using Slash Dash to ignore more pressing abilities from the enemies such as Toxic Breath or Hyena Demolyst radials.

    Regardless.

Rank 5 Healing Return for 5 healing per hit. 4 enemies in range, 3 status per target. [(5*3)*4)] for 60 health per swing, or 120 if you're infighting. The mod is fine, and these numbers are conservative at best. Any primary or secondary with small radials and decent status chance reaches these numbers, such as a Basmu or Glaxion, a Kuva Seer or Tombfinger analog, many sets of sentinel weapons, or a Mecha Kubrow which increases armor similar to Ironclad Charge which is far more substantial than the base buff advertised. The point of this mod isn't to fully heal you instantaneously, but to heal chip damage. You probably feel you're getting one shot all the time in just the 300s because you're walking about with far less health than you should have because you have to make the decision of wasting your combo count on a few enemies, AFKing for five seconds in operator for Magus Repair, or continuing on hoping that you don't take enough damage to immediately die while you actually play the game.

Odomedic and Medi-ray are, regardless of how much you would like to ignore them, substantial regeneration mods in the same category as above.

My logic is that they don't need small base stat buffs for diminishing returns, because at your numbers the gain they would get would be in single percentages that make no effective difference in gameplay and would be a slap in the face for all of the people who enjoy those frames, but wanted worthwhile changes. Stat changes will get none of these frames anywhere they weren't already, because none of them change the way that their kit works and that's where all of their survivability is coming from.

This applies to Excalibur as well. I don't mention him as much in this thread as Rhino or Saryn because he deserves his own proper thread about it which he gets multiple times each week since Melee 3.0's latest phase.

    What should be innate:

All base damage mods for weapons    (like who doesn't want to increase base damage) [Only if it's in proportion to leveling the weapon.]

HP regeneration  (+1 hp/sec)   (we just spam HP pizza's) [Then the only point of shields becomes invulnerability to one shots, I guess. Why would shields even exist if health regenerates itself, that's a problem that several games struggle with and I've seen the meta for them is ignoring that shields exist entirely. In some cases, like Risk of Rain 2, shields are even an active detriment to your survival except in one extremely specific circumstance, and they even have relatively close health values with a similar armor system.]

Energy regeneration (+1 eps)   (at high tier we just spam energy pizza's) [No.]

A single augment mod slot (the slot allows an augment for 0 mod capacity)   (some augments are just required for abilities to be useful especially on older frames with less synergy like nova)[Then how about we properly stop making augments that are direct buffs for abilities, and include those """"augments"""" into the frame's kit instead. "Augments are meant to change the way an ability is used or a frame is played." Yet DE pumped out augments like Iron Shrapnel which doesn't make Rhino a literal nuke or something, and Surging Dash that straight up just gives a buff to something that should've already been in the game. 1 combo count from a slash dash hit, and it can bug out to hit multiple enemies with a single dash yet only return 1 combo count? Completely garbage mechanic at base, and Surging Dash is the bare minimum for it to even be noticeable.]

A single Resistance Arcane slot (basically a 3rd arcane slot but only for resistance mods)    (these are only useful in some situations)[I'm not a fan. Builds should need to sacrifice other aspects to get more free survivability, hence why Gauss on infested or Toxin enhanced missions should need to sacrifice some of his redline's power to resist toxin.]

A single survivability mod slot (allows 1 hp/shield/armor mod 0 capacity cost)     (at high level fights we completely forgo survival mods)[Preferably two; Shield frames need Shield max and recharge, health frames need health max and armor.]

this would boost warframe's overall strength so im not to sure, but personally as a long time player these things would give players so many more build options

No, it wouldn't. The game's limited not by staple mods in and of themselves, but by the amount of mods that actually have reasonable effect in the first place. Reflection? Energy Channel? Heavy Impact? How long has it been since mods similar to these were even balanced? Heavy impact was nerfed back in parkour 1.0 to stop charging infinitely, energy channel has fallen behind the curve and all it would take to make it reasonably powerful for one hit wonder builds is the removal of the cap, and reflection they literally gave so little of a S#&$ about it hasn't even changed after all of the rest of the mods were fixed, and doesn't even work. Edit: In fact, they cared so little that even when it had a valid use to boost Amalgam Javlok Magazine Warp's reflect percentage which needed to be 6000% just to do reasonable damage, they nerfed something that was inefficient and slow but entertaining without buffing Reflection to do ANYTHING meaningful on its own.

Builds are limited because we have so few mods that are actually worth using without overthinking. I have a build that's more effective than any other build that I've tested and I use it all the time, but I get similar effects with less than half the effort of that build in non-endurance missions, so there's no reason to even use that build or those mods.

    I don't understand your logic.

Because this is Rhino gameplay, this is Vauban gameplay, and this is Saryn gameplay.

    Spoiler

Rhino has an emphasis on tanking, because he can take an effectively limitless amount of damage because of his ability that allows him to do so.

Vauban has an emphasis on controlling a battlefield, with only enough survivability to avoid being killed in a few seconds during casts by long range enemies because of his abilities that allow him to do so.

Saryn has an emphasis on annihilating everything and everyone before they have the ability to get within firing range or nuking groups of enemies because of her abilities that allow her to do so.

This is why a Vauban build usually has an Arcane Guardian with health mods and plenty of healing, while a Rhino build can completely ignore health, shields and most regeneration mods entirely yet Rhino still lives longer.

What Saryn needs isn't more armor or health, she needs her Molt to draw aggro more aggressively and it will make a larger difference than even quadrupling her armor, because not taking damage > taking damage.

What Rhino needs is the ability to recast Iron Skin without Iron Sharpnel.

Refer to any of Rahetalius' Vauban directed feedback videos for comments on why he and most others didn't care about the armor buff he got, and would've rather had a buff to Bastille's armor passive.

So, Frost and Rhino don't need additional armor because of their skillsets. Excalibur doesn't need additional armor because..?

Invulnerability during slash dash, Radial Blind, Umbra cheese, as well as his base armor already giving him enough effective EHP at around 40-50% DR before mods. Of most frames, he's the most well rounded, the only thing he needs is one or two mods to regenerate health, easily obtained with an arcane, a sentinel mod, or Healing Return and he has more than enough room on his build to mod for just about anything, as Radial Blind and Slash Dash are fine at base, needing little more than a small range increase.

Excalibur's survivability is active, not passive. He doesn't need more armor to ignore being shot at, you're supposed to stop the enemy's ability to shoot at him.

Alot of warframes jump to 200-225 armor. Saryn and Rhino base armor is 225. Kind of un fair. I feel health and shields buffs are needed. Their kits relies on umbra mods and certain builds now. Which is unfair. Inaros got an armor boost. Inaros can have 9k health. Inaros if build right requires less work to maintenance. Inaros is OP. Saryn was the first none fragile female warframe. Kind of an insult not to buff her. Her Aug is needed to self heal.

I want founders's warframes to get buffs. Founders supported and saved warframes from becoming a dead mmo. Excalibur umbra is way better than Excalibur. I want players to choose which Excalibur they want to use.

I already choose Excalibur, as the minor increase Umbra gets to survivability in meaningless and his sentience passive is not worth losing my Furious Javelin, Parasitic Link from teammates or specters nor my Combo Count on Exalted Blade.

No kit in this game relies on Umbral mods. Saryn doesn't need Umbral mods to survive nor does even Umbra. In the same vein, Inaros can have something near 12k health with Umbral mods but does not need them. Inaros also does next to nothing in the departments of damage where as Saryn wipes an entire map and optimally Excalibur can kill enemies through walls before Inaros has the chance to do anything. Inaros requires  less work to maintain because the only thing you maintain with Inaros is his ability to keep himself alive and little else where as all of these other Warframes have better CC in larger ranges. What you want is clearly little else than for these frames to be unable to die, while also allowing them to keep their ridiculously effective kits. It was already hard enough for me to justify using Inaros for anything under 300 as I can keep myself alive just fine on Excalibur, with shield gating and damage changes half a day goes by before I feel any threat at all.

Founders mean nothing in this discussion, and I don't know why you keep bringing them up. If you want their gear not to go powercrept into the vault, ask for a buff to Lato Prime I guess, which is the only thing they have that isn't the best in class. Excalibur Prime has Umbra's stats, without the downfalls of his terrible interaction with his kit in exchange for worse Wukong 1. Skana Prime is Prisma Skana with mostly better stats, the only worse thing is having 2% less critical chance in exchange for .4x better critical damage which is much more relevant.

  13. No.

Excalibur and his variants don't need additional armor. Rhino and Frost's interaction with their base survivability stats are negligible due to Rhino's ability to ignore all of them except armor, and Frost's ability to do the same. Peak Rhino builds easily reach millions of effective health, and Frost's into the hundreds of thousands multiplied by the amount of times he can cast it.

Saryn as well has the simple means of deploying a clone along with overwhelming damage making her kit survivable through execution and skill simply. She rarely needs to be in a position to receive damage, as her main damage ability becomes self-sustaining.

  14. Well, I took the 15 minutes out of my day to play Excalibur with MK-1 Paris, Aklato, Cronus and Taxon with Artax, limit my mod capacity to about 30, I can't tell on my excalibur due to having 6 forma but not like it matters anyway, because half of the mods were flawed or I used the wrong mod, and still completed the mission with 3k health left.

    Spoiler

The mission is fine even when you're alone, if you have any amount of proper modding it becomes too easy. Had I brought mag or volt, the mission becomes even easier. Had I equipped guardian or fortitude, doubly so. Non-flawed redirection, more augur mods or -- god forbid -- the shield restore you can buy from the market the mission stops even being an objective, just an auto-scroller.  I wait maybe 10 minutes to build 10 pads and sit down on the payload as it walks itself to the end of the level since the enemies can hardly do damage to it. The only way I can imagine someone actually failed this mission is if they didn't hear Lotus say "it's powered by your shields" which is plausible as there are plenty of people who can't hear for either familial or physical reasons, but also didn't read Lotus' massive transmission box nor realize that you have to be close to it, and while you're close to it suddenly your shield starts disappearing and you get this super annoying shield break sound and visual so they just stand on top of it completely still the entire time wondering why it's not going anywhere because they have zero situational awareness.

DE cannot balance out a player's lack of awareness in the span of 10 minutes. I even forgot that it uses shields, and realized it again within fifteen seconds of standing next to it.

Edit: Now that I think of it, hilariously I could've even just cheesed the mission by being even worse and dying while I had no shields to instantly get my shields back and be invincible for like 15 seconds.

  15. Everyone loves nostalgia.

I'm nostalgic for how raids didn't work with 8 people, hardly worked with 7, and broke more than half the time. How raids offered nothing in the way of difficulty and forced you to mainly complete the task of "match this symbol to this location" and "stand on this pad." Raids were a joke, and a nightmare to play because of the numerous bugs and nothing more. They served no challenge, and nothing in it did meaningful damage to you.

Communication? Yeah, no. Hardly anyone ever had to talk past the first week, the most communication when everyone stopped being new to the raid was a waypoint for the rare crates and maybe a waypoint for when someone zoned out killing trash mobs.

Today's endurance Disruption missions are more challenging than raids ever were.

    2. You have to contact support in order to do it, and give them a valid reason.

Ah, yes. Waste support team's time by asking them to change your name, while also wasting your time by waiting half a month for them to even acknowledge that you made a ticket. This is a terrible idea on several levels.

The price is entirely fine, almost entirely negligible honestly. 200 platinum is maybe an hour's worth of farming for a few mods or prime parts, and another hour of searching for trades. Or maybe just a single riven mod in about fifteen minutes with 300% the profit.

  17. The attribute of having multiple attributes.

There is no single stat that's so important it outweighs the needs of other stats entirely. Look at Burston Prime, it has ridiculous status chance yet it's trash because it has no damage or crit, so maybe crit is the winning answer? Plinx exists, and it's also garbage because it has no status chance or ammo capacity. What about both? Vulkar is a hybrid sniper rifle with decent amounts of both crit and status, but is still terrible due to its relatively awful fire rate and recoil.

You can't determine if a weapon is worth using until you've used it, and even after the first 30 you may need multiple forma for a weapon to be usable. Pre-status rework Twin Rogga does little damage, is too inaccurate, and has one redeeming quality that can't be seen unless you forma it 4 times just to use it: it's overwhelming pellet count and decent enough status which gives it the potential to be the fastest armor stripping weapon in the game able to fully strip an enemy's armor in one shot up to level 190.

What I specifically look at is what a weapon has the potential to do that other weapons don't. Komorex seems like the Vulkar Wraith or Snipertron Vandal on low zoom with worse stats, but its bursting viral round gives it the ability to be a sniper rifle while also being an AoE mob clear with fantastic status application and personal health and energy regeneration (Mending Shot and Sharpshooter) all in a single shot. Quatz seems like a generic high fire rate pistol but its ability to excel at status application along with high burst damage in a smooth integration while giving CC during its biggest weakness of reloading makes it a worthwhile pistol.

  18. A secondary that has the ability to heal allies.

A set of secondaries that parallel the vast amount of primaries we have with utility and more interesting mechanics than being a gun. For example: Analogs of Mutalist Quanta, Basmu, Ferrox and Scourge. We only have one secondary that doesn't strictly deal damage, and it's Zakti. Yet we have near a dozen primaries that do nothing but have special effects that push the primary slot into secondary weapons, such as those mentioned above.

    Bo Shurikens

  19. 1.) There is nothing the forums can do for you, and the moderation team will likely be here soon enough to tell you the same thing.

2.) You're saying that your account was blocked, but you've not posted what the exact message was so there's nothing we can infer from your inability to log-in.

3.) The Launcher can determine that applications that have a potential to exploit anything in Warframe is running, and will thus prevent you from logging in automatically. For example, something like Cheat Engine. If you've used Cheat Engine for another game and forgot to close it, or more innocuous if you're using Google Chrome and search something with the words "Cheat Engine" as the website header, there's a chance that you'll be prevented from logging in.

4.) Game bans don't always have to be related to applications or exploitation in particular. If you've traded platinum that was not paid for, you could be suspended. Since we can't read your logs, and it's best that you don't post your logs on a public forums, there's no advice or information we can give you about why you were suspended.

What is bothering me is that DE has decided to not only have a single or two-layered RNG but layers upon layers stacked upon.
Why? I dont know the exact reason but I suppose that DE is trying to prolong the time required to "complete" an update because they are getting slower with the major patches. However it just feels like that exactly: Prolonged! The event isn't fun at all, it is just ordinary fun and most players are not even socializing too because they are focussed on getting their sh*t done.

Yup, but this game stopped having socialization outside of endless back when keys were removed. Missions are too short and no one uses voice chat, this isn't the game where talking is welcomed because of the nature of the gameplay itself, which has shifted from being slower and tactical to momentum based by nature. Even T4 survivals the dominant strategy was to defend a single location for hours. Now? Even before shield gating? It's no problem to reach and surpass those old records without hiding from enemies.

I know of a time where you could hump into an event and do just fine with almost any frame.

That has literally never changed outside of Defection. Limbo doesn't make the mission faster in and of his contribution, he makes it easier to survive and at the duration the Mulex optimally lasts he's not required by any stretch of the word unless you're a set of two squads alone doing a spear entirely by yourselves. Mesa is nice, but killing sentients is the only thing that matters. She's not the best for them. Nova is optimal for everything in the game that wants enemies to be faster and take more damage, she's essentially an entire game mechanic akin to what Artifacts are in Risk of Rain. You could go into Ground or Space with any frame and a Sancti Magistar with a decent operator Amp, and complete the mission in the exact same time because it's duration based. Only in space it gets slightly harder, but there's enough CC methods to reach the practical limit for a single squad doing Mulex in a reasonably filled spear unless you're, I guess, Ash and deathly afraid of using specters or any sort.

    • Not honoring players' effort, ruining fun with so-called "Balance"
    • Lets face the simple fact that we're playing a cooperative game. Meaning that we use our overpowered gear against the wave-tactic NPCs. Some of us spend thousand upon thousands of Kuva into a riven, some farmed Liches till they got that 60% Kuva Weapon and so on. But DE seems to think that they have to balance the game like a PVP game... why? Why not give us that feeling of doing well and that our time was invested well? If you have rolled a riven to (like) 100 MS, 150 CC, 150CD and a low-tier negative. Feels great hu? Now the disposition of that weapon goes down to 1 (i know that did not happen that extreme but its meant to be an hyperbole) and the stats read like 30 MS, 50 CC, 50CD... worth it? I doubt it.

Because if all the weapons are overpowered, the game stops being fun completely because it lacks challenge completely. If the same few weapons don't receive regular balance changes, say the catchmoon was still the same and the riven disposition was always like 2/5 or whatever, you feel like you're wasting your time using other more interesting weapons and the game becomes monotonous because you know the same weapons work for the same things all the time and there's no room for exception. Some weapons simply need to change as time goes on. I have a Kronen Prime Riven, and I'm tired of using the Kronen Prime but it's one of the top 3 most effective weapon in the game for non-specific situations, such as needing to heal or DPS in SS with a Sancti or Zaw, respectively. If Kronen Prime doesn't change, I'm not changing it to use less effective weapons regardless of their riven stats, because the base weapon is fantastic and the riven stats on top of it sum up to more than most other weapons do in similar circumstance. In this specific case, no it's not DE disrespecting my time as a player, especially considering I've been gathering kuva for months waiting for a disposition change so that I have other melee weapons to use instead of the same thing. It's not a rare resource, and slot machines aren't a time invested you should honor. You win, the money gets spent, you go back.
