  1. Fear he who enters here

Ballas's research facility Zeta, unknown location.

    - Meet Frost Prime. It's a bit worse than Umbra, it cannot operate on it's own, however it is safer than releasing a mindless beast onto the people of our Empire. - Executor Ballas exclaimed in a proud voice. Zdrek'nunos was sick of hearing about his friend, Darion Dax, best man, his guiding light. Taken by the man who was talking about him as though it was a piece of fabric torn from a dress.
    - So this is what remained after your failure with Darion. You couldn't strip him of his mind, so you used his DNA to build a machine that would obey you, but even then... - little Tenno was using a technique his teacher called Naramon. To know your enemy, and use it's weaknesses against it. Ballas was very proud of his work, as any scientist would, and when you trample his accomplishments into dirt it hurts him the most.
-... - Ballas took a deep breath to collect his composure. "I need this devilish child. If my theory is..." - Correct. And with your Tenno powers i hope that we will be able to utilize this Frame to the best of his abilities. Subject 6 has proven to be unstable, uncontrollable, I guess when you strip a warrior of his self the only thing left is the animalistic urge to kill. - Executor is not loosing this battle of wit's, this child might me Krieg's apprentice, but he's still a child. - If it is any comfort, Darion's endurance was unrivaled among all of the subjects of the Umbra experiment. Even subject 8, who was his superior, did not last long.
"Ignorant slave, his mind is ravaged by this experiment more than mine." - a voice said in child's head. "Blessed be the ignorant, Darion..." - Tenno replied. "Don't call me by that name, this one is no longer Darion you knew... But a chained beast, regarded as a monster..." - fallen Dax sounded broken, filled with desperation. "Enough with it, we are warriors. Our will is steel, our mind is a castle, our body is a weapon. Wait for me, Frost Umbra, I promise to unchain you." Zdrek'nunos cut off the transference with these words.
    - Enough with the pleasantries. You wish to see the gift of the Void. I will show it. - Tenno replied, channeling his newfound powers, whispering - Awaken, Frost Prime... - his new weapon reacted to the call, activating it's systems, making a step forward. His mind transferred into the platform, leaving his body unconscious, falling to the ground. "Hmm. Unexpected..." he thought, "although I didn't feel any pain from falling to the ground. Perhaps I need more practice with the transference..."
    - ... - Tenno tried speaking, yet couldn't. He looked at his hands. He felt nothing. Cold, numb Void.
    - Remarkable... - said Ballas, staring at his creation moving for the first time with a terrified look in his eyes. - Can you hear me, Zdrek'nunos?
    Tenno nodded.
    - Ballas, we need to talk about the Council... Ah! What did you do to this child, Ballas?! - Archimedean Margulis was furious, running towards the unconscious body. She checked for vital signs. - Oh, thank goodness, he's alive. What did you do to him? Answer me, Ballas.
    - I did nothing. You can ask him yourself. - said Ballas, pointing at the warframe. - He wanted to contribute to my research and did.
    - You are no different than the rest of them... - a sad tear dropped down her cheek. - I'm taking this child with me. He and the rest of them will be in a safe place... We... can no longer be together... - said Margulis, taking Tenno's unconscious body away.
Tenno was looking at this scene, unmoved. He was exploring his new body. Quite durable, capable of controlling sub-zero temperatures. Just what he needed. "Endure, Zdrek'nunos, endure a bit more. This Empire is on the verge, those who will overthrow it are already safe, they will be regarded as saviours. We have a different task ahead of us..." Tenno said to himself.
    - Arrogant worm. You will regret leaving me... - whispered Ballas, looking at how Margulis walked away.

Council of Executors. Entry unknown. The new enemy.

    - But they were our creations, how did they turn on us? - Executor Verian said in a deeply disturbed voice.
    - How? It doesn't matter now, does it? The enemy is at our doorstep and our forces are in disarray. And where is Krieg? - said Zdrekka, concerned that the brightest strategist in the Orokin Empire was missing from a crucial meeting.
    - He was the one to send intel on our enemy. Right now he's on the outer ring, fighting a war he cannot win. His message also said "Your incompetence and arrogance sicken me. I do not wish to affiliate myself with your rabble. There is a war to win and i won't win with you hiding behind my back." - quoted Executor Boros. Silence fell in the council hall, Executors unable to gather their thoughts and figure out the way to solve this problem.
    - Gentlemen, - said Ballas, - I may have a solution to this crisis. If I may. - Executor looked at Verian seeking approval.
    - Please do.
-Then allow me to introduce to you the fruits of my labor. The first of the Warframe Project. Meet Excalibur Prime...

    Krieg Headquarters, Venus orbit.

War. Conflict. Argument. These were the ways to acquire the Truth. When two bodies collide with great energy, there are bound to be vibrations sent across the universe. Those who can listen to the universal frequency, can hear the Truth.
    - You wanted to see me, Executor Krieg? Or should I say "Lord" Krieg now, as you denounced the Seven Emperors. - said Archimedean Sylvanas. She arrived as he asked her to.
    - Come now, Sylvanas, I'm in no mood for this now. I need you to do something for me... - Krieg didn't look at her, he was consumed in monitoring the situation on the front lines.
    - Of course, my dear Krieg, anything you want. - she said smiling. Since he became an Executor, they did not spend much time together. - what would you want me to do?
    - First I have a question. Did your research with those apothics proved viable? - Krieg asked. As always aware of her moves. A very jealous man he was.
    - It appears that through these apothics one can release one's spirit outside of one's body. - she said, but of course he already knew that.
    - Then are you planning on leaving the Empire as well? - Krieg knew that the empire wouldn't leave her alone and was very concerned about her safety.
    - Yes. - Sylvanas said. - there is one beautiful forest on earth. One that I would be glad to spend an eternity in. Tending to it, protecting it. You can join me if you want...
    - Haha... You were always the romantic one, Sylvanas,- Krieg said for the first time looking away from the monitors and catching her gaze. They stayed like that for a minute or so, - But no, I have a duty to fulfill, there is no one out there who can take my place yet... young Zdrek'nunos has a oath of his own. In time he will find the Truth, but until then I want him to explore and learn on his own. Take this book to Pluto. Hide it well. - Krieg gave her a strange, ornamented book. The book was big, and had a lock.
    - And the key? - Sylvanas said, looking around the book. She was fascinated by the simbols on it.
    - Do not worry, the key is where it will be found by the one who will search for it.
    - Oh don't you dare talk in mysteries to me, Krieg! - she looked at him with an annoyed look.
    - My Lord, excuse my interruption. Second Archwing escadra returned from the mission. They tell of a certain ability our enemies have that drastically reduces incoming damage of certain attacks. - Cephalon informed Krieg over the intercom.
    - Tell them to come here. - strategist said and looked at Sylvanas with a sad look in his eyes.
    - I understand. Till we meet again, little knight. - Sylvanas knew what his silence meant.
    - Till we meet again, young sparrow...

  2. Once more onto the breach, dear friends

Council of the Executors, entry unknown. The Zariman Catastrophe.

    - These void fiends are no longer children! They need to be disposed of, they pose too great of a threat to the Seven! - Executor Boros was enraged by the calamity that became of the Zariman Project. - It is your doing, Zdrekka! And what has become of your Warframe Project, Executor Ballas?! Another waste of our resources!
    - There were minor setbacks in containment of the Technocite virus, but the research... - Ballas was desperate to defend his work from the Council.
    - How dare you talk to me so crudely, Boros?! Accusing ME of treason?! Let me remind you!.. - Zdrekka has lost his temper alongside Boros.
    - First you send these children into the Void, and now you want to slaughter them like animals?! Have you lost your mind?! - yet again Archimedean Margulis tried her best to protect these children. This project was a mistake from the very start and now these Executors want to cut off the threads that might lead to another uprising.

    - Enough! You won't solve this problem by bickering! - Krieg intervened in the argument. - But I'm with Margulis, we cannot just kill them, they have seen the void, drank from it's currents. They survived the slaughterhouse that was Zariman Ten-Zero, and now these Ten-O are but sheathed blades, dulled by events, yet hardened by the Void.
    - Exactly! - Margulis has finally heard what she wanted to hear. Someone to support her desire to protect the children. - Didn't you want to bolster your army, Zdrekka? Or would you kill your own son just to cover your tracks? Let these children to prove themselves. - "Let them live!" At this point the Council was already thinking on how they would use the children of Zariman Ten-Zero.
    - Yes, there is a certain possibility i want to explore regarding these "Tenno" and their Void powers. - Ballas was thinking at the peak of his abilities, yet he could not find the solution. Perhaps Zdrekka's son....
    - Let us vote then. Those who wish to give the Tenno a chance, stand. - Verion said and stood. Krieg, Ballas and others followed suit. Zdrekka hesitated, yet stood too. This will not look good on his profile, his career is hanging in a fragile balance.
    - Thus, we are to let the Zariman survivors live and explore their powers.

    Krieg's Headquarters, Venus Orbit.

Executor Krieg was wary of the possibility that the Council might've voted for killing the Zariman children, so he hid Zdrek'nunos away in his headquarters to shield him from the Council's gaze.
The boy was meditating. He has found that through meditation he can achieve a higher level of control of his newfound powers. "A sharp blade is a common kitchen knife in the hands of an amateur." so his teacher said.
    - Oh, my eyes must be deceiving me. My pupil doesn't like meditate, who are you, child, and how did you get here? - Krieg said jokingly, entering the garden where Zdrek'nunos meditated.
    - Teacher. - Tenno sopped his meditation and bowed his head to the man who saved him from the horrors of the Void. Overcoming them was hard, even for a talent such as his. Yet through accepting the Void within him, he was able to contain his powers. However this left him almost void of emotion. Cold, just as Darion wanted him to be.
" Oh my dear friend Darion... Or should i say Frost now? Damn Ballas and his project..."
    - My Lord, Executor Ballas wishes to dock. Shall I let him in? - Cephalon said over the intercom. "Speak of the devil..."
    - He's after my powers, isn't he? - Zdrek'nunos said, so much like Darion, his chilling voice made Krieg remember his friend who is now entrapped in a machine made by Ballas, his mind ravaged. "Frost Umbra," he thought grinding his teeth, "if it was up to me, Ballas, your research would never have escaped your head." His old friend was chained here, in Krieg's Headquarters, close to his favourite planet.
    - Yes. If you don't want to, then...

    - It's alright, teacher, I know what he wants to see. I'll show him the power we wield. - Krieg was proud of his pupil. He's grown drastically.
    - Then go, my disciple, and return as soon as you are able. There is one last thing I have to teach you, one last Truth. - Sadness overcame Executor, for a great calamity was about to unfold in the Origin System, but he will be unable to protect his disciple.
    - As you command, Lord Krieg. - Zdrek'nunos said in a deep bow. Yet they both knew that they will not meet again like that. Young disciple saw them, those who come from the Tau system. He knew his place in this War, and so did his teacher. - Blessed be the ignorant, for they do not know the Truth.
    - Blessed be the enlightened, for they know the Truth. - responded Krieg. This was a vow. A vow to protect the Origin System from the Truth. A vow to be vigilant in the face of the unknown. A vow of the Knight of the Krieg Order.
And so, Zdrek'nunos left. Krieg watched his pupil go away "You are ready... My disciple".
    - My Lord, the forces of the enemy has entered the Outer Ring. - Cephalon informed his master through the intercom once more.
    - Gather the Knights. We need to stall them. Also, send message to Sylvanas, ask her to be here post haste. - Krieg Order was a secret organisation, few in the Orokin Empire knew about it, yet those who knew feared and respected what Krieg has built.
    - The First, Third and Ninth archwing escadras are ready to execute the 56th tactical assault. Orders? - the Order was informed as soon as the first scouts of this new enemy has appeared. The Knights were ready for a long time, eager to launch their claws at the enemy.
    - Set up a communication channel, I'll be on the bridge. - Krieg went through the headquarters to the bridge. Knights readying themselves to battle greated him with respectful bows.
    - My Lord.
    - Lord Krieg.
    - Long life to you.
    - We will uphold our vows, Lord Krieg.
    - My Lord.
When he reached the bridge he was ready to overthrow the Seven Emperors and conquer the Tau system. "A bit more time and then, perhaps... No, the enemy is here."
    - My loyal Knights. We all knew this day would come. We knew, for it was our duty. The Orokin Empire has proven itself useless when it comes down to waging war. Now the only chance the Origin System has to survive this onslaught, is through the power of those they sought to get rid of. We can appreciate the irony of this situation after we do our part. Knights of the Krieg Order! Are you ready to show these infidels what a real War looks like?! Are you ready to drown them in their blood?! Well then. Listen to my Order. - The Undefeated Strategist made a pause collecting his thoughts. - Cry Havoc! Unsheath your swords! Ready your minds! *inhale* WAR!
    - WAAAAAAAAR! - every Knight that heard this speech cried along side their brothers and sisters. War was upon them, and during war times, there is No Rest For The Wicked.

    Link to the part 1:

  3. "Blessed be the ignorant, for they do not know the Truth of Krieg. Blessed be the enlightened, for they know the Truth. Blessed be the Knights of our Order, for they protect the Origin System from the Truth. Blessed be Krieg, for He bestowed the Truth upon us, his Knights. Blessed be the Order, for we know."

Vow of the Knights of the Krieg Order as told by Zdrek'nunos, Magister of the Order and Krieg's First Desciple.

    - Again, - Executor Krieg said in his cold fashion.
    - Ha! - his desciple following the commands of his teacher, striking a training dummy with a heavy training blade.
Sweat got in his eye so he put the point of the sword on the ground to free one hand.
    - Young boy, have you admitted defeat to the dummy? - his teacher said mockingly.
    - No, teacher. Why would say something like that? - pupil said, unable to understand why his teacher suddenly started mocking him. He's used to hearing "Again.", so this was unexpected.
    - Then hold your blade. Hold it tight. Putting your blade's point on the ground is the equivalent of saying "Come kill me. I don't care about defence". - Executor knew his pupil well, his lazy attitude needs to be mocked out of him.
    - Hya! But teacher, you always say that attack is the best defence. - child said, parrying Executor's response.
    - Perhaps, yet I didn't see you attacking. I've seen you batting your eye. - Krieg was not amused by this gesture, he sought to train a warrior that would surpass him, his pupil was the right material, yet required a lot of work. - Enough with that. Let us meditate, I have something important to tell you. - said Krieg, putting himself in a meditative state. He mastered meditation, among other things, and was able to meditate even during a fight. - Sit. - teacher pat the ground beside him. The stones of Executor's stone garden, clean as always, made his pupil to hesitate.
    - Can't we meditate inside? It's getting cold outside, and these rocks don't look too warming. And what is this meditation about? I don't get why do I need to sit in an uncomfortable position for hours! - there it was. His teacher's worst enemy - impatient attitude.
    - Zdrek'nunos. - Krieg made it clear that he won't repeat himself by looking his pupil straight in the eyes and patting the ground.
    - Ugh, as you command, Executor Krieg... - child said, sitting down and tying his legs.

*Few hours ago. Council of Executors, entry unknown. The Zariman Project.*
    - But you are sending children there! Children, Zdrekka! And what about Zdrek'nunos? Have you thought about how your own son will adapt to such conditions?! - Margulis was furious. Her mind, or rather her mother's instinct, told her that this project is wrong.
    - My son was trained by our best warrior, Krieg. I trust he will prepare Zdrek'nunos for his journey. - Zdrekka said in a calm manner as always, looking at Executor Krieg. "Of course you would trust me, you pathetic excuse of a father. I've raised your son as my own, but don't blame me if one day he turns on you."
    - He will be ready by sunset. Your boy has talent, Zdrekka, he is a fast learner. - said Krieg instead. He never understood why Zdrekka neglected his child.
    - You are going along with him, Krieg?! This project is wrong and this Council!..
    - Margulis! Please, restrain yourself. - Executor Ballas intervened. He knew that anything more and the Council's next meeting would be without his loved one.
    - Let us vote then. Those who want to proceed with the plan, raise your hand. - said Executor Boros, one of those who wanted this project to succeed.
    The Executor's raised their hands.
    - Very well. Then we are to proceed with the Zariman Project. Zariman Ten-Zero is standing in the docks. Tomorrow we execute the plan as proposed by Zdrekka. Children are to be gathered by dawn. This meeting is a close. - Executor Verian declared in his own fashion. He was the least worried about his son. Deimos had what it takes to survive the darkest days.
"I need to find Darion." Krieg was desperate to find the right person to teach his pupil the best lesson he need right now.

Darion Dax. They say his deathly cold attitude is rivaled only by his indomitable spirit. They also say that if you walk beside him for too long you'll fall ill the next day. "Feel the Winter's chilling grasp... For I am her usher." he said this mantra every time he was about to go into battle.

Unrivaled in his ability to stand his ground, he believed that the best attack is a good defence. For no matter how big the opponent or how fast he is, if he's unable to match Darion's endurance, the battle is decided.
    - Couph Couph. - he said, stepping into the stone garden.
    - If you just say "couph" you'll look like a psychopath about to murder a family with that voice of yours. - Krieg knew that Darion was standing in his garden for a while already, but didn't want to interrupt his pupil's meditation.
    - Darion Dax! What brought you here? I'm so glad to see you! Can I look at your sword? - Zdrek'nunos was excited to see him, because Darion Dax was the image of a perfect warrior for him - cold-blooded, with scars and a cool looking sword. Of course his teacher, Krieg, who was unrivaled in mind games, however did not inspire the same awe simply because he was Executor, and Zdrek'nunos hated this title.

    - Greetings to Executor Krieg, little Zdrek'nunos. I've come here to...
    - Boy, go fetch our guest some tea. I'm sure he's tired from the long road. - Executor had to cut him off, he did not tell his pupil that this morning he will be venturing in the unknown.
    - As you say, teacher. - child said, stormed off in the house to make tea.
As he left, the two continued talking.
    - You did not tell him yet, Krieg. - Darion had no trouble seeing through Executor's games. After all, he was dealing with them his whole life.
    - No, I didn't. - with these words Krieg looked into the sky. - What did Ballas want from you? - he recalled the conversation earlier this day, after the meeting, interrupted by Executor Ballas.
    - He said I was chosen for some project. Ambra, or Umbara, can't remember. - Darion never delved into politics, had no use for them. Krieg, on the other hand, was keenly aware of what his compatriots were up to.
    - The Warframe Project, subsequent research, code name Umbra... Blessed be the ignorant... - Krieg was disgusted by what Ballas proposed on one of the classified meetings. Yet Executors Boros and Zdrekka were thrilled at the idea of bolstering their forces with these machines, these Frames of War.
    - The tea is ready, teacher! - Zdrek'nunos was running towards them.
    - We have a more pressing concern right now then some project, Krieg. We are to prepare this child for perhaps one of the longest trips in his life. - Darion said, heading inside the house.
    - Hm... - Krieg slowly prepared himself to deliver the news to his pupil, putting Ballas's research plans out of his mind. "Blessed be the enlightened... Little Zdrek'nunos, i hope you will be all right out there."
