I suppose the question is: If there is a semi steady supply of Nitain now, what value does the inclusion of a randomised chance of being online to aquire more do for the game?

For the same reason I am a consistent advocate of having RNG in the game but also having some NPC/Store in the background as a counterbalance for supremely bad RNG. So even if you don't get the thing you want via RNG, you are still making progress towards it via the fallback.

So you are encouraged to play the game to just outright get the thing (the older style alerts) but if I don't manage to do that there is always the fallback (credits) so I can buy the thing from the NW store. The important thing there is the potential to get the thing outright. Where as right now we are at 100% reliant on the "fallback" on the bulk of things.

Nothing you do in game will get you that Nitain if you are out of credits or need to spend those credits somewhere else. I don't count sabotage caches because I can't recall ever seeing them actually drop nintain and I can't recall how readily Ghoul Bounties drop it if at all but those are like every 6-9 months.

Because either there is enough through Nightwave to satisfy everyone, as this is an un-needed extra, or there isnt enough obtainable through nightwave in which case your solution is to let some of the people some of the time abile to get more

Well the thread exists so I can assume that there aren't enough points to satisfy everyone.

I think everyone can agree that the problem with the old alerts is that they went away and if you missed them, whelp you're SOL. That being amplified to the nth degree by the fact that the window to miss them was like 40minutes or something crazy short.

So a solution in bringing them back would also likely entail not retaining the absolute timed cutoff that hey had previously. Perhaps treat them as an individualized bonus loot node that reset at both sorties and daily resets. Where in which you click on the alert, play the node and you get the bonus loot.

They essentially introduced the notion of individualized loot back with Liches and again with the Tau Shard pity system. Along with a ton of individual "my bonus of the day is" style mechanics in a ton of other mechanics over roughly the same period.  So I'd think there is a healthy code base to sample from to that end.

For rarer bonus loot alerts, perhaps have them stick around like Krull missions. So they are there until you complete them but if you didn't log in for a moth they also aren't going to stack up.

maybe. Instead of, idk, making nitain in the NW store cheaper?

That may be a way to go but I did peek in and Nitain is already pretty cheap, I think the problem especially for early game players is the everything else.

getting to lvl 30, you get something around 400pts and change, Nitain is like 15pts for 5x Nitain. Potatoes on the other hand are 75pts a pop and that's a pretty hefty chunk of your total NW credits. While NW does give you a hefty chunk of those near the beginning it absolutely dripfeeds those near the end, coupled with the fact that god only knows when the NW "season" will be reset.

Additionally you have the overload of the store, whenever the UI gets brought up in devstreams of yore, it is almost always met with the same response "we don't want to overload players with information". I think the issue with the NW store is newer players are being overloaded with things that they feel they "need" for progression Vs things that they really want, like cosmetics. All in the vun und only vun place of aquisition and all pulling from the same very limited pool or resources, all at once.

So I don't think it's so much the cost of Nitain but that the whole NW store itself is just in a weird(?) place and I feel like a bit of the oll "Play this mission and outright get the thing" could certainly ratchet that down a bit.

Part of the reason for it being removed was it was too missable. Perhaps giving every level up 5 credits in addition to any rewards might be better.

and when it was virtually the only way to attain Nitain that was a problem. However that is nolonger the case, now that there is a semi steady supply, having a random mission pop up can be viewed as a bonus vs it's previous "I need to drop literally everything IRL and log into Warframe because my Nitain timer just went off"

  3. If I was to wager a guess, my guess would be that stalker becomes a permanently/always selectable option once the intrinsic is unlocked. So you always get X random frames + the stalker for your Dividebyzero options.  That said, who truly knows, hecc the devs might not settle on anything until the week Dimidome launches.

Wait, is there something dangerous about using Alt + F4? It's what I am always using..

Its more that it is an inelegant solution

The only two options if you want to quit from somewhere that isn't the orbiter is to either sit through a loading screen to the orbiter just to quit the game or say hecc the UI and hit Alt+F4 (not sure how consolies do it).

Can't you just Esc > quit (last position afair)?

Alas no, no you can not. Pretty much any place that isn't your orbiter/base replaces the quit option with an "Exit Location" option that will then send you through the loading screen back to your orbiter, then and only then will it offer you the convenient and elegant option of exiting the game.

  6. Seeing as the last time I played that boss fight I literally became the Rapadapolapolyst long after the three generators had been kerploded, at which point all I could do was watch as it/we constantly ran off of the platform, hit the zoneout and rezoned onto the platform while seemingly invulnerable..... yes please fix this fight

and while they're at it maybe remove or significantly reduce the lotus monologuing so it doesn't take up half the screen almost the whole time you are making you way to the boss fight. Cause it's kinda nice to be able to see what's shooting at you, so you can effectively shoot back and particularly in the large tiles with the broken walkways that expect you to make fairly precision bullet jumps or fall into the respawn void.

  7. I would just like to take a moment to genuinely thank whoever was in charge of the skybox in the grineer section of the map (as the corpus segment has no skybox) because when I jumped into it, I actually hit a thing instead of zoning out. I'm not sure if that's how that map always was because I've not been able to bullet jump to the skybox previously but regardless I very much appreciate and prefer hitting something rather than the alternative zoning out.

    So again thank you.

    1. Yes, please get rid of the 15-minute goal. It isn't a cohesive combination with slow player + finding hidden collectibles. The other two missions aside from prison break also have tediously large levels for such a slow character. I'd also suggest Kahl get a horizontal jetpack move like a necramech, but it'd be easier to just remove the 15-minute goal.

    Yes

It does kinda seem antithetical to both have a game mode dedicated to going as slow as possible mechanically (because apparently Warframe is too fast paced?) while simultaneously also telling the player to GOTTA GO FAST!

I honestly just ignore it whenever it comes up if I bother with the Khal mission at all.

Due to work/life/time zone, I usually left the stream running whenever I could, or emergency texted my wife to fire up Twitch in time for the stream; it was nice to get back home, open up Warframe and find my drop in the Inbox.

It sounds like you'll still be able to do that, the only difference is now you'll have to have to manually claim the drop after the fact.

If I was to guess it's to reduce load on the twitch drop servers because people will naturally stagger the claims instead of having them all automatically spike their servers at about the same time.

  10. I guess my main question is how long does the unclaimed drop stay in the Twitch inventory?

Do you have a few hours, a few days/weeks?

Because a lot of people can't watch the streams in person (timezones/work/etc) but for the sake of the drops can manage to technically "be there" and for the most part the existing system accommodates that.

    Edit: and apparently asked/answered already.

As long as they don't expire, cool beans.

  11. So those new Wing Ephemeras.......

Was it intentional that they obscure like 1/3 of the screen?

Kinda wondering if we could get the neon wings instead. They would be about as intrusive but since you can see through them the blocking out the screen isn't such a huge issue.

This is the part I dont get when people say it. What frames do we have that dont need to spam their abilities if they are heavy burst abilities (which the turrets are)?

Ember, Vauban, Khora, Banshee, Nezha, Gara and Gauss are all frames with a need for spamming, either to deal or buff damage. Then we have Nidus that spams to gather enemies up or build stacks. Currently the turrets (a 50 energy skill) rivals Ember's #4 skill in damage, you also need to spam it less. The damage will be further increased with the changes and you'll be able to wait 2.5 seconds longer with a balanced build before recasting. This will result in extremely good self targetting burst damage.

.... turrets aren't momentary burst damage, turrets are emplacements for the sake of area denial.

You want momentary burst damage fine go with literally any other ability theme.

DE chose turrets for Protea and then implemented them in the least turretie way humanly possible. I'm not sure why that is hard to understand.

  13. Momentary happiness, instantly dashed.

The grenade changes don't address the casting time or the forced hop animation that can cause you to totally miss your target depending on map geometry.

The changes to the turret do nothing to substantively change the issue of it being an awkward ability that needs to be spammed. Just make it something that detaches from Protea permanently until recalled or maybe like the Sentinel version of Venari.  Have a fixed damage unless you "overdrive" it at which point it starts accumulating multipliers until the buff wears off but the turret does not despawn unless you manually recall it or go way out of range.

The only ability that she has that seems worthwhile to me even with these proposed changes is the Dispensary and again only because the ammo counts towards Archguns

  14. Eh the interacts don't seem to exist for any other reason than to make you remember the Parazon is a thing that exists.

Jackal is now slightly more tedious than it was previously and more prone to glitching out preventing the boss from being completed. Sounds like a lose-lose with no real upside. At least I don't consider a "Press X to" prompt to be an upside, tho that could just be because QTEs where played out forever ago.

I actually wish they'd just reworked the Sergeant instead of a boss that didn't need it.

  15. Went out to try and use my noodle beam for the first time since the patch (on the plains to complete a riven challenge) and it couldn't lock on to save it's life.

It felt like there was a minimum range? but it wasn't always consistent because it would hit enemies that where farther away than my target but sometimes hit the thing I intended to hit but only when it decided it wanted to.

I dunno it felt pretty bad to use it, felt pretty great before.

In my experience more than one person can access it but you need to wait a while (I assume for however long it takes for the first person's to finish) and you wont get the speech played if you aren't first.  At the end of the mission you'll get the decoration though and it'll be unlocked in the Codex, where you can read the lore or hunt the hotspot to hear the speech as per other Fragments.

Oh if the room resets then it's gravy, given the fast paced whoozle of Warframe sticking around for a protracted period of time isn't something that reflects typical gameplay. It might behoove them to make it more rapid fire so it's evident that it's a thing that exists.

I know you get the plaques as decorations but the propaganda drone is possibly one of the coolest ship decorations I can imagine. Liking it to completing the set would make it somewhat akin to the Kuria.

If it was semi tethered so it stays within say a meter of where its initially placed so it can get in your face Simaris style but won't always be in your face. Maybe even have it recount the audio from the Tenets as a cohesive story if you interact with it or just a random Corpus saying if you get close.

I dunno to me it seems like a really great reward asset.

  17. Might be because you posted multiple tickets about the same subject instead of replying to the open/existing ticket.

However not really sure because I've never had the inclination to reset and have only losely heard that it might be a thing that possibly exists.

  18. First you need to understand why migration from PC to console was a thing in the first place.

PC to Console migration existed expressly to ensure that Warframe got an injection of existing players on the new platform to try to ensure that it would get a running start instead of trying to learn to walk all over again. PC on the otherhand is already established.

Why it is unlikely to happen (along with cross save which is essentially account migration lite) is that Consoles exist as walled gardens. Their staying power is that of a captive audience. If you could just leave at any time their business model collapses. That IMO is why it is far more likely to see crossplay (probably without trading) than it would to ever see account transfer (or cross save).
