it's honestly shameful that they've never addressed this. i'm sure there's a way to improve it if they put aside time and effort to do it. rhino is also one of the few frames they still haven't updated to PBR textures, so the basic skin still has the shiny plastic appearance. like, really, ironskin's coverage looks like ass. this is what your brand new shiny voidshell skin looks like if you dare use ironskin on it: and rhino's basic skin looks like.... this? like... come on. it's a latex suit. it's gross. this needs more attention if we want to actually have any hope of having it addressed, otherwise it's going to rot on the long list of weird visual issues this game has, and has had for years. that's not even to mention the rubedo skin, if any poor sod has actually bought the thing. no PBR on that either, and ironskin is quite subtle (and incredibly splotchy) aside from the massive shoulder pads from the non-toggleable prime details: this stuff is just never going to get any traction unless DE are shown this directly and often. rhino is practically a starter frame, one of the core warframes, and this is the treatment it gets. i think rhino ironskin was at its best when, for a brief time, they had accidently swapped a couple of the color channels around and you could actually get an ironskinned rhino that wasn't a big shiny blob of one single color. but of course, that was a bug, so that had to go and now we have mono-color blob rhino again. but hey, at least he's splotchy as hell now, so technically you can see more color on him............ as for the palatine skin, it looks okay enough, but ironskin is tied to effects intensity, so if you keep that turned down, ironskin is going to be literally invisible on him. this is his ironskin with intensity scaled all the way up, and that's already quite subtle: so.... rhino has lots of problems. will they ever get addressed? who knows. but we have a better shot at it if more of us care to poke them about it and make THEM care enough to do something about it.
