  1. That's a fine line to walk. The weapons take a long time to even get so making them widely available would just suck for those who have it and for those who haven't gotten it yet it ruins the excitement to see that goal loom closer.

The only other way they could probably do it is make them a reward after you got all 3 weapons but at that point you have 1000+ day login exclusive weapon upgrades which is a whole other can of worms.

You may have a specific issue going on, because it's working perfectly fine on my end.

Most likely a host/client issue then. Ive almost never had it work and im usually not the host.

Good to know it does work though. At least i can get some use out of it lol.

You mean, you run out of time ? Because I can interact with the forge just fine 🤔

No, it resets your tracked movement. So if you go from the pilots to the forge with the ability active, use forge, then press 4, it'll revert you back 1 second to the forge console.

  4. I wish I could find a use for her 4th ability, I've tried. But it just does nothing I need it to and all of it's more interesting applications are just too niche.

I have no issues dying no matter what I do, the only time you should have issues with ammo (unless you're using a small handful of weapons) is in an endless mission where you likely would also ready have a dispenser somewhere, she has no problem sustaining her other resources with dispenser and with good efficiency you can use eqilibrium/synth fiber to instantly top up in only 1-2 seconds if more mobile missions by quickly dropping a dispenser and running after it spawns the first health orb, I never find myself ever wanting to throw myself around to displace enemies, and for how much work it is to get any damage out of it for a single blast my turrets would have likely cleaned everything up anyways and even at a much longer range. The 3 second invincibility is good, but again it's rare for my health to even take damage and if it does I tend to have a lot of armor at the ready to keep me busy until I cast a single shield satellite.

I'll admit the combo counter part is a good aspect to the ability and paired with melee's ridiculous damage it's not hard to get good explosions off constantly. But also heavy attack builds shouldn't have much of a problem with maintaining combo honestly. There's a lot of ways to get around that than using base 100 energy and a couple seconds of your time.

The only time I have ever gotten a positive result was using it for invaders in railjack when I'm alone on board. Get off my pilot seat, cast, clear them out, patch holes, warp back. Sadly it gets reset when you use consoles so I can't easily resupply at the forges and warp back.

    I wouldn't go that far.

It's bad, but not THAT bad.

Now if we'd have Zombies walking around, that'd be a real apocalypse.

If youre an essential worker, it absolutely can be that bad depending on the field. Not in a literal sense but the sheer mental and emotional tear down put on you by the conditions and workload will make you feel like youre living in an actual hellscape.

For reference I know nurses in georgia who are being contracted out to new york for 3 months, being given full paid travel/housing, a years salary, and I think a signing bonus just because they are so understaffed and the workload is that nightmarish. Some of them turned it down because they know it isnt worth it.

The importance of mental health and how bad it can be when those walls are eroded into nothing but powder cant be overstated IMO.

  6. She's actually kind of terrifying now. She can shut out 90% of enemies from any hall of your choosing long enough for them to die to the slash even at level 110, with synth fiber and equalibirum she pumps out resources like mad, now she can pull out some really nice damage.

Given how much damage comes from heat procs, she can even pull off some nasty nukes with the mecha mod set on top of all this without losing a whole lot in terms of modding.

Garuda is a frame that is played mostly in melee. After all, her first two skills are leaps. What is the point of auto reload, when you are mostly fighting in melee? Also, what is the point of auto reload, at all?

Because she's not a frame built specifically for melee? I get what you're saying about her 2 leaps, but just because you have a way of getting close to an enemy doesn't mean you're instantly a melee frame. Nothing she has specifically benefits melee and arguably makes her better suited for guns. Personally I've almost never used melee with her and when I get my shield I back flip away to create distance and start blasting fools down.

She's capable of using almost anything if you put your mind to it.

Wisp flowers can stay forever in same place...why not the dispensary protea? This wisp skill its very strong and with huge CC, speed and HP. Protea needs something more than one dispensary...

Theres a number of reasons as to what might be.

Wisps motes actively play off another ability, that being for her teleports. Having to place them around a map every 40 seconds would straight up kill the usability of that effect.

She has to place down 3 motes to get all her buffs and can have 2 full sets.

Her motes dont give her energy sustain like the dispenser can so its way more importsnt to be energy efficient.

That and they might regret giving wisp such powerful infinite duration buffs for stationary missions. But that one is more of my own tin foil theory.

  9. Kuva ayanga. The deep thump when you fire it, the animations, that heavy crack upon explosion when you're close, the fact you get 33 shots per magazine. Heck, even something about the physics of the shots feel really good.

It's just such a satisfying weapon.

Oh I get that. And as I said fair enough. I can kinda accept her 1 as just a way to get shields back, give her a small boost.

But I'm kinda upset because leaving warframes as they came out, for a long time, happens way too often.

Like Titania could have been an amazing warframe but they needed like... I don't even know how many years to do something about her.

And Protea is an other one of those really fun to use frames with quite a potential. And it would be a real dissapointment to leave her as is.

I get why you think that given DE's past if you've played long enough, but recent history has said otherwise by this point as in the last 2 years DE has been very keen on improving warframes post launch. Nearly everything released after gara has been touched post launch.

Just to name a few from each frame since "early 2018"

Khora: Across the board cast speed boost, combo made to affect whipclaw, whipclaw + dome synergy, ensnare spreads, venari no longer needed to be cast.

Revenant: almost doubled thrall count. On death effects create new thralls. Lowered energy cost from reave. A bunch of synergies got added post launch and gave full control over reave. Enthralls didnt spread themselves on launch.

Garuda: Not only were they willing to change her ult pre launch but on launch she got stat boosts, the 8m aoe stagger for her 1+2. Lots if bug fixes as she was very buggy on launch. Dont even get me started with the INSANE support she gets even today where the last change she got was huge QOL modding as recent as rising tide and then buffing her claws AGAIN with deadlock. But her shortly after launch had very good changes.

Baruuk did not receive changes on launch really. But i also believe he was in a much better state on launch than other frames. That said, he still did get some juicy changes eventally.

Hildryn: Not much here, probably the only stand out in the last 2 years but thats likely cause of my bias against hildryn. Without a doubt she was still a potent frame on launch as much as I dislike her.

Grendel: Definitely room for improvement. But he got some insane changes, like not instantly canceling 4 when everything inside him dies, the speed boost when you use 2 in that mode, his feast shotgun which turned him into a powerhouse, giving his feast scaling period pretty much. Says a lot about his release state but the changes were nothing short of amazing.

Gauss: A ton of battery management QOL that actually let him use melee and give you more breathing room. Added more synergies and overall power to his kit.

Wisp: few changes on launch but they were at least willing to do a lot pre launch from what we saw. She was definitely in a solid spot on launch.

Now were at protea... Time will tell whether she becomes an exception. But history has at least given us a reason to hope. Definitely a far cry from warframe of old for sure where things only were put on the chopping block when they became problems (vivergate, pre-6 reworks trinity, launch nova, etc)

Im still struggling to think of oberon as a good frame cause he was so utterly meh on launch and so long that its ingrained in my mind.

I can afford platinum, I was just happy to grind the frame out. I spent 4 hours getting her parts. I thought the hard part was over, then I saw her build requirements.

I stopped playing warframe when RJ came out. It was dead on arrival, broken and everyone hated it.

I’ve now moved to PC and been playing for 3 weeks. I have never in my 3 years of this game seen something quite this bad. The only thing I can compare it to is Auroxium. Meaning, if you don’t have the recipe it could take 3-4 days to unlock.

But at least Cetus bounties are something EVERYONE can work on.

I’ll be starting RJ soon, I just need to finish up some of the games systems first to actually have the hours in the day to make beginning a new system plausible.

When I opened the build costs and saw 120/3500 Carbides it was a little bit devastating. Know it took me 3 weeks to amass that 120. I didn’t know RJ gave you those. When I googled it it told me you get them from eximus units.

So many people here got angry and *@##$y, I’m just a dude that didn’t want to farm for weeks to play the new frame.

Is that really so god damn unreasonable?

We weren"t angry, just absolutely flabbergasted really. We tried very hard to help you all things considered.

Its because you've straight up ignored people (all the way from the very forst reply!) who are telling you that you could have gotten everything in 30 minutes instead of weeks and how to do so. We're not exaggerating. Theres screenshots of reward lists you can see yourself. A single 5 minute mission can net you "several" 1300-1500 packs of any of the resources you need. This is completely disregarding the in mission resources. You really would not have lost any tangible progress on rep grinds unless you're that strapped for time IRL.

All you had to do was press one button!

  12. I'll say right now has been the best time for me. All the things I enjoyed still exist and the things I didnt care about or were less keen on either still exist just fine or got reworked to be more entertaining. Some of the content may be less than stellar but its not retroactively made the good things about warframe worse.

Probably a weird way to look at things, but Im still enjoying myself all the same but now with way more options.

For reference I have played fairly consistently since 2013. Took a year or so break like 2-3 years ago but thats it. Ive seen a looot.

  13. Warframe is a game about variety. It has a variety of missions and situations it puts you in so I see no reason why certain frames can't be designed to take greater advantage of the style of missions those offer.

Whether people like them or see them as neccesary is up to them. We're at what... 43+ warframes now? At some point we left the realm of "alright, what frames does the game NEED right now" and we hit the point of "this is cool/fun. add it". I'd say within the last 4 years every frame has essentially been superfluous because we have an extremely strong option for every circumstance and hybrid circumstance.

    Appreciated.

Well that's definitely one way to do it, I can't deny it. But that's a lot of investment to do that. 300% duration sacrificing defense and 20% range isn't worth that trade off personally. Her shield grenades aren't as reliable as they make it sound because she is one of the most visually busy frames in an already busy game. Those balls have a tiny pickup radius, don't refresh, and when youre also spamming your other abilities? You absolutely just lose track of them or forget to put them down.

Can't argue with the results though. That's mighty juicy.

I don't know if there's a build where you have op turrets AND balanced stats.

I think I might have come to some compromise with building her. You do have to be fine with needing zenurik to jump-start your set up. You can pick whatever aura you want, mine are all over the place for no real reason.

Setup 1 for more stationary missions (companion has synth fiber):

    RstNKo5.jpg

Once you get a single dispenser down it instantly refunds itself with a chance to earn massive profit. Equilibrium + synth fiber is downright busted. Past that, you lose like... .9 meters from the turrets and barely anything from her 1 so you're free to just spam everything as you please. This has worked extremely well IMO. You basically can't run out of energy unless 100% of your effort goes into spamming turrets and even then you have no idea how long it takes to do so.

Set up 2 for mobile missions (Doesn't require zenurik to start but is important for sustain, make sure you ditch synth fiber or you'll never have health available):

    jzqSKzV.jpg

Haven't played around with it much yet but this is basically under the assumption you're never using dispenser. Replacing HC with adaptation as much as i"m not a fan of it, her grenade have an obviously IMMENSE synergy with it. The sustain is still quite good so you can use it for stationary missions if you want, but I personally prefer the equillibrium memes to guarantee I never run out. Plus guardian and health conversion give you some INSANE EHP if your shields go out letting you recover. Adaptation + the drone gives you absurd sustain and if aegis procs? you basically can't die for its entire duration. But once that flesh is exposed, it hurts way more. I like guarantees personally.

For what this game offers all the way up to max level lich missions it's fine. You're obviously never going to realistically fight a 160 HG. Even then, I like to treat this as kind of a hall of mirrors type ability where it adds firepower to whatever I'm fighting (directly or behind me) at that moment either spread out to make killing a group of people a bit faster or single target to kill one person REALLY fast. The support of this turret with these builds can cut my kill time in half when fighting something as beefy as the 160 corrupted gunner.

That's kind of why I put in that last part of the comment? The final part that you quoted?

And then, after describing her Dispensary, I also followed with this:

Because no, not all weapons can do that, and she isn't entirely about ability damage. Buffing her damage, or giving it scaling, would be kind of pointless because she's an all-round hybrid, with CC, Debuffs, Team Support and personal Survivability that makes her usable everywhere, but not a dedicated damage frame.

In every single star-chart mission, that turret is strong enough. Heck, up to Sortie, or even Rank 5 Lich, I can see that turret being useful. There's no need to buff it for any of the content we're actually going to be doing.

She just doesn't have the scaling that lets her go beyond that on abilities alone, you absolutely should combine what she does with weapons for greater effect. And that's not a bad thing, that's how she's designed.

If her turret scaled, or her Shrapnel Mines scaled, then literally what would be the point of scaling enemies?

People are looking at Vauban and are so amazed that Flechette Orb (yes, and Photon Strike) has a mechanical enemy level based scaling function, but neglect the fact that to actually kill enemies consistently with it, you need to make use of his CC, the passive damage boost that gives, and the damage buffs of Overcharger, and for armoured enemies you need his strip from Bastille to break them back to just Health. You combo all his abilities to even make Flechette Orb relevant because of its slow and random fire rate and its limited placement function.

If something with a massively high fire rate, and self-buffing without needing to combo the abilities (beyond three prior casts to make it have 100% extra Strength), also scaled with enemy level? There's no combo there, there's no build-up, and there's definitely no accounting for needing to remove enemy defense either.

There's a fine line to walk between powerful and over-powered, and giving her turret scaling is stepping over that.

Note I never stated i wanted it straight buffed. I find the way its mechanics work to be honestly a bit lame where my first 7 shots are just there to keep an enemy distracted for 3 seconds and then the last 2-3 do noticable damage against a small handful of enemies (but you are right, they are effective number wise on max level lich missions). Duration is primarily good on her for the sole purpose that it allows those turrets to even reach that damage potential instead of letting it be good for longer. I guess you could give her points for a unique way of scaling her damage.

What i personally want is an ability that feels consistent. Where im not hoping the big shots get used on what I want and one that contributed to each enemies relatively equally and if it happens to line up with hitting the same enemy multiple times it can carry some single target weight like it does now. Maybe what Im asking for is a pipe dream, I dunno. Im enjoying the turrets but the combo mechanic making everything ride on those last few shots is something im not big on.

Ill be honest, I touched vauban once since his rework and thought the fletchets were awful in the 20 seconds i used them until people found out they were good and kept saying it. I have no bias in that form lol.

Also i think shrapenl grenades is fine. Im focusing exclusively on her turrets.

And ill admit, protea is a very different mindset from almost any other warframe so I might still be expecting things out of her that werent intended despite using her the moment the update hit.

  16. 7 hours ago, Birdframe_Prime said:

Duration does affect her 2, that's how you get more ammo. The 10 ammo you see is because you have a long Duration on the function. My build right now only gives her 9 ^^

Since the ability scales itself up with 50% damage per hit, and your own Duration giving her 10 shots, that's 500% damage on that last shot minimum (because all enemies caught in the beam count as a hit, so double-hits will cause two charges). With even base Strength, that's scaling the 500 base damage up to 2500 by the end, so a total damage dealt out of 13,500 if all shots hit the same target. Allowing a max-duration, neutral Strength turret to kill unarmoured units like Infested up to level 50-60, depending on which mob. Plus it guarantees a Heat proc, so you're stacking the initial damage with 50% of the total damage of each hit in turn into a tick per second, meaning you're then getting a further 6 ticks of 14,416 damage, meaning that if you just hit one Ancient with all shots and let the status tick, you'd technically be able to kill a level 175 with nothing but this ability and duration mods.

With a double-Umbral Intensify, Transient Fortitude, Power Drift, Growing Power and her Passive buff you can get to 350% power Strength. This buffs the base damage to 1750.

My build with only 9 shots in the chamber gets my ninth shot to 7875, the total output damage to 67,275 on a single target. With a Heat proc for about 75k per tick, so... realistically, an unarmoured target up to silly kinds of levels will die. And even an armoured target, with the new scaling meaning that armoured enemies have nowhere near the real damage reduction they used to have, and the Heat proc will cut that down to half after a second, you can probably use this single ability to kill a level 100 Bombard with the raw damage plus the burn damage.

But that's only basic calculations. In practice, against hordes and deploying it against actual groups of enemies, you could probably count on a single cast for any Star Chart level mission without issue, and probably most Sorties too, because you're not using it for the pure damage, you're also using it for the combo with her kit and the CC/debuff that the procs cause.

Youre not wrong about the numbers, but thats a huge problem with the ability where youre basically building up all this duration just to wait on those last couple shots that actually get much done. Unless you get lucky with some pierces, those last couple shots are only going to hit like 2 enemies each maybe some more if the angle nets you an aoe hit. While yeah the duration is super quick regardless it really sucks that 80% of the ability is just banking on a quarter of its hits, especially when what it shoots at is random. Past that its just a bit of CC/debuff which a lot of weapons can also fause just fine anyways.

Again. Where are you basing this information off of? Making assumptions off incorrect statistics leads to inforrect assumptions.

I already mentioned why using achievment data is bad, you have no idea how many people drop F2P games before the furst hurdle appears. The people who play reglarly are probably barely the double digit of those who ever installed it.

This applies to any F2P game.

Edit: regardless. Just try joining a RJ game, at least I assume you havent tried yet. Statistics dont matter if you actually find a match.

I have just seen a video of a single turret killing various level 170 enemies.

Mind posting it? In my experience if taken to an extreme build wise (I got 270 duration and 220 str, negative efficiency and range) and paired with a bunch of viral stacks it can. But alone with that same build and no viral it wont scratch a 160 heavy gunners armor.

A more confortable build wont come anywhere close. Especially in practical situations and not simulacrum where you can make the turret focus on the target you want. Which I should note, it wont. It attacks randomly.

You have to think pretty good damn highly of yourself to be responding to Feedback intended for DE.

Thats factually incorrect information and we have no way of proving what the real statistics are. Im assuming your using the steam achievements?

    2 issues wrong with it.

    1. Nonsteam users. They exist and while probably a minority, still a sizable chunk.

    2. Its a F2P game. I could download warframe, play for 5 minutes, and uninstall and it would count me. Those number were the single % digit of people who EVER touched the game up to this point who achieved it.

Just try to join someones railjack. It costs you nothing since you dont need a RJ to join a crew and if I recall they even added a very general "join any crew button". I dont understand why youre so resistant when we gave you exactly the information you needed to make this easier on you.

  20. Yeah I'll agree it really sucks. I can sort of get the shrapnel vortex because it's so spammable and can be really annoying where any stagger weak enemy around any corner just get stopped dead in their tracks, but the shield grenade should absolutely have a different and longer duration. Protea already has to keep up with enough low duration abilities, it really shouldn't be made technically worse. Since nothing really changed of course.

I don't understand, why would changing up the boss be a blip for anyone without it having new offerings? If it doesn't add to game play or progression what is the point of congratulation outside of seeing that new players that have experienced both, but not got their complete Rhino prefer the new versus the old?

Because it makes the game better as a whole. You might never touch it, but that doesnt mean it wont have an impact regardless. Imagine you just started and you were treated to this spectacle relatively early on in the game. Assuning the fight is enioyable enough, it would grab you into the experience further and be something you actually think back to at times as "man, that thing was cool!".

Cause old jakal was so dull to me that the moment I got rhino I immediately forgot about him. Meanwhile Tyl Regor is a character I still remember and love even though I have actively avoided him for years now.

They might not have a smooth new player experience, but if they can make the early bits grab peoples attention, it helps hook them in further and be willing to learn. While i ended up not liking it the original intro to destiny 2 was actually great and is what kept my attention and made me want to play it after that beta on PC.

  22. One small nipick regard her her energy you talked about. Its not really above average when you consider that the only warframes that have higher than the max 225 base are primes and she rivals primes in her base form.

This is important to note because this insane energy pool + her regen + quick thinking is monsterously powerful. I doubt itll happen but Id love to see garuda prime get an increased energy pool lol.

Overall though I do feel it would be nice to have a way of now moving around with her abilities. The mobility is great, but she would have even more versatility if you could choose the terms of your engagements more. Normally when ends up happening is I use dream mirror than immedistely backflip away to create distance. As it stands now you have to wall latch and then cast to not move anywhere with dread mirror.
