  1. The Orokin as a society died by the Tenno, the people are confirmed by Simaris Lore and the major story quest that they are alive as they are simply humans.

Corpus were a subculture derived from the Orokin that existed before the Collapse and it's hinted that there are other subcultures that survived the Collapse as well, they didn't all live in one spot to get slaughtered.  Tenno "killed" them by destroying their entire Executive government in one attack, Stalker Lore explains that when the war was won almost everyone that was important (Emperor, his Vassals, Retainers and other Executives) were all gathered for a big display and killed before anyone realized what was happening.  The Collapse that followed these events was made of a combination of disasters, the Grineer Rebellion started, the Infestation had just taken root in major cities and with no remaining upper government to maintain control everything else fell apart.

So far from what's known the Collapse wasn't a slow process and it's not explained very well as the following Dark Age hasn't been explored much in the story.

I'll define Optional Content, content not necessary for progression,  Focus, arcanes, zaws, moas, plushies, is nothing that requires the additional power they bring that doesn't involve the same content you get them from.  This isn't to say they can't be useful outside of Eidolons or Onslaught, but outside of this content players are already extremely powerful and normal content is often trivial already.

It doesn't take hours to do 9 Invasions, 1 Sortie and a few low POE Bounties, all of these can be done around an hour over a weekend, most of the challenges are completed through normal gameplay, none of it is hard, and compared to waiting 3 months for a Vauban systems to "eventually" drop at a reasonable time it not as time consuming.   Nightwave isn't as immediately satisfying but overall it is likely more rewarding for your average player.

    The old system was great.

Nightwave gives you the possibility to choose but it's not as simple as running a 5 minutes mission and 'poof' here's your catalyst.
The game has got too grindy as of late : sanctuary onslaught for focus , eidolons for arcanes , Arbitrations , Sorties.......

I'm gonna stop you right there, the game hasn't gotten any more grindy because of the inclusion of optional content,  eidolons, arbitrations, onslaught provide optional rewards that offer no meaningful progression for outside of said content.  The rest of the game is unaffected by their existence,  challenging endgame content isn't supposed to be easy.

Back to Alerts, as I said, unless you have all day to play warframe you already miss most alert rewards and sue to the nature of RNG there were many players that were spending months waiting for mods, weapons, potatoes, and even a warframe locked behind an unreliable system.  You might have been lucky getting what you need on you schedule but many didn't have your luck and now have the opportunity to get what RNG denied them through normal gameplay or a few hours of grind over the weekend.

The level of time dedication being asked of the players by the new nightwave system is unacceptable to people with jobs, or any life outside of the game at all, for both new and vetran players alike. It's taken items you use to be able to log on and do a 10 minute mission to get immediately, and locked them behind hours, days, even weeks of dedicated play time that a great deal of people just don't have.

I personally plan on quitting the game after getting this year's anniversary items, until DE fixes it, if they haven't by then

If you sleep, have a job, school or a family you were already missing more than 50% of all available rewards from Alerts, the old system was crap for people that didn't have all day to play Warframe.  Nightwave gives you the chance to get what you couldn't have due to personal obligations, weeklies are easy to do and take around 2 hours to complete if you focused on them.  If you only ever had 10 minutes at a time to play Nightwave, most the time the old system wasn't offering you more than what you can get now.

Feel free to research Skinner Box at your convenience, because this is what it is.  This seems to be a trend in gaming again as I see Star Trek online is currently doing the same thing with their product.  Do the missions, get the points, and open the box for the next level.  Wash, Rinse, Repeat for 10 weeks to see if you can get through all 30 boxes.

Tell me @[DE]Steve is this what we're being degraded to?  Are we a pigeon?  Or a lab rat for this particular experiment?

The old alert system was crap, Nightwave not only gives you choice it gives you what was denied in the previous Alerts, time to actually play and get your rewards.

Everyone can't play Warframe all hours of the day and night, many work, go to school, or some other personal obligation that stops them from getting potatoes at 4AM in their corner of the globe.  Most people felt FOMO and either didn't concern themselves over Alerts or hated for missing out on something they need or want like Vauban, and no, Skinner Box is a crap comparison, you can quit at any time the milestone rewards are consistent and are far from necessary while also requiring little effort to attain.

If someone plays 30-60 minutes a day everyday they can easily work towards weeklys easily since most of them are as simple as playing with friends.

  6. There a lot of very powerful builds for melee weapons without Rivens that can go way past current endgame standards, you might want to consider looking into some of those builds to get a better understanding of what you might be missing.  But the good news is that melees weapons are getting a major balance pass soon to expand it's use and hopefully open up the current melee meta.

  7. Set mods should not ever replace their normal variant, and determining their value based on their none set version is pointless as it's plainly ignoring their intended purpose which is the set bonus.  Most set bonuses aren't bad, not groundbreaking but certainly not trash as you seem to believe, most of the mods are low cost but their actual draw back how many slots you're willing to sacrifice to strengthen that bonus.

You don't need a full set to get a bonus and most players have some flexibility with their builds to get some use, your issue is that you can't justify giving using any of them which is fine, you either haven't found a bonus you like the concept just isn't for you but saying something is bad cause you don't like it or find it useful for yourself doesn't make it trash.

  8. Loki from beginning of Warframe that has maintained the same level of skill to carry players through any difficulty and received no direct changes for a reason, he is just that well made, if you suffer or have issues playing him it's only cause you're just bad at playing him.  Beyond invisibility he has nothing to crutch on like tank frames, he has no insane damage or CC like Equinox or Volt or special "synergys" like Saryn.  He is completely skill driven and because of this with the right player there is nothing that can't be done, though his decoy is weak it can be placed anywhere and draw aggro from anything, he has the longest invisibility duration with no gimmicks unlike Octavia and Ivara, he can switch with almost anything and unlike Limbo he can skip almost any challenge with minimal effort when used with his decoy or augments.  Though there are other ways to disarm enemies compared to Loki they are trash when considering his range and lack of gimmick to use it unlike Baruuk and he's also the only frame with amazing augs for all of his skills.

He isn't the strongest or tankiest or even most interesting frame out there but that's the whole point of the frame, and chances are he'll still be one of the most viable frames years from now, frames that have suffered update after update are always DPS and gimmick frames simply because they become obsolete as changes to damage values and enemies are made more frequently than anything else.

  9. Looking at the numbers I'm assuming that's the range of the beams in circumference, but that's not really something worth keeping track of so I'd also assume it's a bug where the UI is pulling the numbers for beam circumference instead of beam length.

  10. They mess around on stream and pick on one another from time to time, this isn't new, one occasion they had too many beers and began to lose focus, professionalism isn't the topic of the stream nor it's focus.  The point of the streams is to let us The Players in and understand what they're doing and thinking, they have access to the same tools Rebecca used to form those graphs and likely already discussed such statistics like any company would've already.

Keep in mind these people know each other outside the streams, they don't work in solitude and have more going on behind the scenes than they'll share, it's not our place to defend them or rally them when they have a disagreement amongst each other and it certainly isn't our place to tell them how to do their jobs.

  11. Based from observing DLC prices for similar content I'd say $30, now if it was Bungie it'd be $60 and you'd have to repurchase the game, or if it was Bethesda it'd be like $40 cause they announced railjack and upped the price but refund you the $30 back so you can buy it for $40.

  12. Really not that big of a deal since the game mode is fun and the other rewards are easily worth the effort especially since the drop tables are free of credits and mods.

If you honestly believe you should have a new WF the moment it drops just cough up the plat, it's not unreasonable to put some time and effort in to something that takes more than an hour to get considering the added rewards provided even if you don't get what you want.

A friendly Trinity gets this bug preaty much every time we hunt Eidolons. From their deduction it appears to somehow happen after dying as an Operator, so we decided to just make sure they don't need to use theirs.

I can not personally confirm how it happens, but hopefully this helps.

Will keep this in mind, might try to see if I can duplicate since this is the 4th time it's happened to me since POE dropped, hopefully something can be done to fix if it is something that can be repeated.

  14. Just had a Hunt [DE]Aiden and [DE]Danielle that was pretty good, all was going well until my screen froze as my Operator was blasted by the Gauntalyst, could hear what was happening and even text back, but my shards, cores and arcane would be lost cause the only way to get my PC back was to crtl+alt+del.

Anyone else had good experience spoiled during a hunt over a bug/IRL stuff/in game mistake?

If you say that Atlas sucked before the rework i don't think you have much experience with him. His 3 before the rework was an alright cc, even if it didn't petrify enemies instantly it was a radial stun much like Inaros's pocket sand but with a much shorter duration. Just because he was one of the the least used frames doesn't mean he was bad in any way, he as able to carry me through sorties easily and farther in MOT than most other frames would have. The biggest thing that kept him from getting played was the fact that people only saw his 1 as viable and didn't find that fun or fulfilling to play.

I've played him a great deal and my point still stands, his issue wasn't that he wasn't viable he's just plain boring and uncompelling to play, he couldn't tank, couldn't DPS, carely CCs (3 has reduced effectiveness over distance requiring more time to stone), his 4 with or without his Aug was unreliable and best served as a bullet sponge, 2 useless, and 1 boring but effective.

Atlas's low player count wasn't cause he wasn't viable, there are simply better more exciting options compared to him and in most circumstances more effective, short of being a loot-farm Atlas brings nothing to a team comp compared to Rhino and Frost with CC, tank and team support.  As I've said, he sucked, not cause he wasn't viable cause there were just far better alternatives, anyone with a 1/4 my experience could tell you that.

  16. Old Petrify sucked, it was a boring trick that was a poor mans Avalanche and had no actual benefit outside of loot-farming, now he can turn enemies to stone instantly instead of 10 seconds from now, yes it's more expensive but that's the price you pay for instant CC.

Rubble is a free bonus, it costs you nothing and are not required to "keep it up", it's kind of a lame but it can just be buffed by either adding more health, armor or reduced decay speed, maybe all three just for good measure.

Ignoring you clickbait title I'll just go ahead and correct you, Atlas has always sucked, DE has confirmed on live streams that he was one of the 3 least used frames in WF with Zephyr and Wukong, now he sucks less, so lets stop pretending his changes were terrible.

  17. Almost every single update broke something within the Raids and almost every update had fixes for Raids yet they never improved in terms of quality, they were a prime example of a lost cause.  RSB has 15K+ members, that' barely a 1/10 of the WF Sub-Reddit population and they make up a minority compared to the actual number of Tenno across all platforms which is a number of at most 26 million(registered not concurrent), Raids were literally supported by a small minority that had a smaller population than Club Penguin before it became a meme (700K paid subscribers).

One could argue "Well Conclave and Archwing aren't popular, why don't they get removed?" which would be a great point if those two modes became unplayable with every major update and required several hotfixes correct.  I personally hope DE takes their time looking at Raids, they are a massive departure from the rest of the game and did not reflect any of the actual gameplay that makes WF special, it ignored movement, weapon/warframe variety and had an insane reliance on Meta making it more tedious than fun.

  18. That's no where near comparable, in order for this to be "whale fishing" it would need to be convenient way to attain what you want, example buying Endo packs from the market compared to just farming them for free, this is more comparable to buying 100 tickets to win the Mega Million.  It's an insane gamble to think just cause there is a chance I can win the statistical RNG mod grinder doesn't mean I should dump all my efforts to get it, it really is no different than folks buying scratch offs at a gas station at least in WF you get something back.

Its the slot machine RNG and ultra rarity of combinations that actually work which bring in high demand trading which push massive plat prices. The plat may not be drained out of the system but the ones buying for hundreds if not more than 1k plat are usually not traders themselves and they buy plat packs to outright buy power. That's just as good for DE when players start ripping each other off as they are not directly responsible (although they are because they created the meta power and RNG.)

That is the player's choice to make, DE has in no way incentivize such behaviour and why should someone else be held accountable for the stupidity of others?  If someone wants to pay 10K Plat to roll for Rivens for a weapon they like and take the crazed risk of burning 100K+ Kuva to make it "Godlike" let them, the odds are clearly shown to them, they know what they are getting into, if they don't like the results only they look like a fool.

  20. Sentients, lore explains the Orokin tried things like that and failed.  Sentients are able to control technology like we wear clothes, guns, ships, robots turrets, doors, armor, anything that had a computer in it was just something the Sentients could take and turn against the Orokin.  Tenno being the only thing that could hurt them and Warframes being made of flesh and metal made them immune to the Sentients power, warframe weapons are also referred to as "Low-Tech Weapons" as they require manual operation and offer computerized assistance.
