A top build Chroma with a Riv'ed Kohm, Done. Oh and Nidus, one stack, link then your immortal for like 2 minutes. After 30 stacks your one-shotting lvl 100 eximus's with his first.
These eximus stronghold levels are sinch with any one of those two frames, or together they own 😊

Ok found out what it was after more testing. It seems the additional power strength is not retroactive. It only adds 25% to the power before its activated. So if you activate Vex then get a status proc it will not add 25% to the current active Vex.
Odd but logical. Can close this now haha
-
As title says, I recently acquired Growing Power and used it in my Chroma but rather Tha adding 25% power during status procs it removed 25%. During testing without status I was hitting 465% damage and 830% armour but if Growing Power is proced then it goes down to 420% and 760% or close to those figures.
The mod actively weakens the frame haha, seems wrong 😊

War is my favourite weapon in the game and always figured a Riven was a must but as its disposition is so low I wonder if a Riven is even worth it.
My current build (after excessive testing in the Simulacrum) is CW stance, PPP, Blood Rush, Berserker, OS, TS, Drifting Contact, Fever Strike, and Voltaic Strike. This build deals insane damage and the corrosive status adds far far more damage than any other combination I tried out. So using this build that turns lvl 120 corrupted HG's into chunky chunks of chunk is it worth 2k plus plat for a Riven where any individual stat is unlikely to exceed 50%?

Cool, just wondering, sure some time ago I saw some post saying about just buying and deleting the starting weapons to gain MR, does seem a little open to abuse if it was true 😊
-
Just out of curiosity, if I delete a weapon/frame, rebuild it, then level it up does that contribute to my MR? I know if you have multiple of the same item and level it up it does not but what if you delete it first?
I could test it but seems easier to just ask first 😊

Put this in General accidentally so figured I'd throw it in here.
I'm a big Warframe fan and have always loved the designs and detail that goes into everything so I decided to try my hand at designing my own Frame based on a Frame that was mentioned at last years Tennocon, a Shield Bearer.I ran with an idea that blended old knights with Warframes signature wavy weirdness. The result is BASTION, a melee based frame who's final ultimate ability conjures up an ethereal energy lance and shield that acts much like the sword and shield weapons in the game but much much potent and has extra buffs to the user as they hit enemies and black attacks.
The images bellow show Bastion in his normal form (wielding my all-time favorite Warframe weapon War) and his ultimate form for which I have no name for yet. Any suggestions?
Anyway I had great fun with this and have a couple other ideas I may explore :)

Thanks :) I love melee in Warframe so I often just smoosh things with a big stick haha

Also as a little background on myself I work in the film industry currently as Creative Director. -
I got it to 99.9% before I got a riven using the Status chance mod but that was removed in favor of the riven, I also tried just using Corrosive and swapping the Blast for Slash damage and Crit Chance mod but didnt notice a huge difference. My aim is to get a Riven roll with MS and Status chance and then remove Blast in favour of Crit chance and Primed Ravage and see if that has any effect.
-
This is a little bit of a story too so bare with me haha :)
I recently got into the Riven game, never touched it before even got a Soma Riven after TWW but it was rather lackluster so I just ignored it and left Riven-ing to those more interested. My go-to weapon of choice for high levels was always my Tigris Prime with 16k Slash and 10k Corrosive (it could be higher but it needs another Forma to slot in Prime PB) those big numbers were always very inciting and with Chroma upping the damage by over 400% it would one-shot most things, at one time even putting Sargas Ruk on his &#! in part 3 of a Sortie in one shot pointblank to his chest with max Vex.. It was very satisfying to say the least, greeted by cheers, laughter, and "WTF!"s by the team. So what I'm trying to establish here is that I love Tigris Prime, TP and me go way back...
Now fast forward to the other day, I have been going through all the weapons leveling them up for MR (currently a tiny smidge away from MR19) and I got round to Kohm, I loved it and pretty sure it's received some attention since the last time I used it about this time last year (then sold it) I knew it wasn't the best and many shotguns poo-pooed all over it, or so I thought.
I heard whispers in the ether that Kohm was actually the destroyer of worlds, the blender of guts, a boom stick with no equal, but I just could not see it, sure after throwing a few Forma into it and a 99.9% Corrosive/Blast build it dished out some pain at decent rate but it still lacked behind. Then! I recall that Riven system, so I track down a cheap poorly rolled Kohm Riven and do some Kuva missions and get some re-rolls going, until I strike my 9th roll. 50% Grinner Damage, 50% Infested Damage, and 180% Multishot (yes I know this is by no means the best but that MS is the key)So I Forma Kohm one more time ready to slot the Riven and do my usual solo Exterminate runs to level it up, I get the Riven slotted and go nuts (at this point its just running with the Riven, Hells Chamber, Spazz, and one dual stat mod) I rips the lvl30 Grin to shreds but it still feels like its missing something, I know it's yet to get the rest of the stat mods but something feels off, I carry on slotting mods till it's maxed again and I have one slot free, odd as I'm pretty sure I planned a build that used all the slots, I looked through the mods and suddenly it dawned on me... I forgot to slot Primed Point Blank (or any PB mod) so I that that on and the humble Kohm revealed it's true colours.
I play most as Chroma or Nidus, Nidus is great for leveling as using Larva pulls all the enemies in ultimately leading me to refer to my Kohm as "The Blender" as the sight of 20 odd enemies forced into a ball then greeted by a literal hailstorm of lead resulted in some spectacularly grim visuals.
I instantly ran to the Simulacrum and threw in 20 lvl120 Corrupted HG's and ran up to the first group, Larva'ed them, and pulled the trigger... "Well f**k me!" I uttered out loud, just to make sure I wasn't imagining just how quickly it blended the group into a lumpy mass of viscera and armour plates I grabbed my trusty TP and repeated the experiment, it was not as impressive, sure it hit hard but took considerably longer to dispatch the enemies.
Then I grabbed Chroma and Kohm, hot damn! I activate Vex and sit around for a few seconds (I run with dual Arcane Grace so my Chroma is pretty much unstoppable haha) then I start shooting and all 20 are dead in a blink of an eye.I'm going to continue rolling the Riven (seeing as you can revert back to it's previous state and keep its level it's a win-win) till I get that sweet sweet MS and Status roll :)
So yeah Kohm is a beast is what I'm trying to say. All hail Kohm!!!!

Chroma is a beast, but an expensive one. He has some great tanking and damage buff skills but you need to spend big on Forma and a you need to get the correct mods to keep Elemental Warp and Vex up as long as possible and keep them strong, so priority is duration and strength. I have ran a 3 Forma build for quite a while and he is my main frame, love him to bits with his ability to run in and soak up damage whilst getting more powerful the more he soaks up but due to this he's only really a long term viable option if you either focus on melee using Life Strike (I use a pretty OP War build, I'm all about melee) or you remove Life Strike in favor of Arcane Grace's either go nuts and use 20 of them or just 10 and then 10 Arcane Guardians.
Life Strike is more viable for most and just level it up once or even keep it as is with no ranks, the damage you will be throwing out with a good Vex/Ward build is insane, and also using Rage helps keep your energy levels up, even more useful with Arcane Grace active. Zenurik school and it's energy replenishing passive again is a must. With Rage and Zenurik up you will be able to keep Vex/Warp up all the time even with certain mods crippling your efficiency like Blind Rage.
Overall hes a beast, unstoppable and often hilarious but he lacks any kind of wide area multikill abilities hes purely an assault frame, up close and personal and you have to get into the fight and take damage to get the best out of him. I run him on a lot of solo runs and he's still my personal favorite :)Also I bought him outright, never regretted it.

I see a huge disparity with peoples feelings towards the new update and it references a statement made by the devs " nothing in this game is set in stone and we always want to evolve, sometimes this upsets people in the player base but we either take risks or stagnate"
Makes sense, sure stick to the status quo and just fix the little bugs that pop up here and there and just add a few new guns here and there but that's dull, so very very dull. Or change a huge feature trying to bring it closer to the core game rather than just a semi-detached entity which is what the void was. Now it's more immersive, more involved and I am struggling to find what content has been removed, if anything there is now far more content. Some players are seeing an increase in their rewards from running the void and getting what they want more often, others are not. You can say passive remarks like "Should start thinking and use math" or understand that not everyone is against change and the majority (and it is a majority, a huge majority) of players enjoy the changes or are content enough to at least ride it out if they feel it's not up to scratch just yet, knowing that it will be adjusted and refined as time goes on.
That's the real factor, of course this isn't it, this is basically a beta, every update the release into the game is a beta especially for the PC, by the time it comes to consoles it's so much more refined, like the Inaros update it took ages for that to get to consoles but it had been changed and refined so much before it did, then it was constantly updated after. Nothing in this game is set in stone, it's always in flux and they always see how people react, there will always be those nay-sayers that hate it, that demand change or they quit but that falls on deaf ears, you proclaim them to ignore the core player base yet from my point-of-view they are always catering to the veteran player base, the new player experience is terrible haha, but I managed and so will others.
Change is scary, and annoying but it will change, adapt, and so will the player base. Nothing is set in stone and your opinion isn't either.

Don't get it, who are the same developers? STO is Cryptic and Warframe is DE
5 minutes ago, Kyronz said:Well they are learning, their latest patch to reduce content in increase grind I have seen many times in some korean games i play. They at least have not gated access yet, although they have pretty much demolished what made their franchise stand out.
Korean games are notorious for their grind mechanics but they soften the blows with pretty constant updates and content, I would not expect any Western F2P MMO to be grindless, that's silly and irrational but I certainly feel that Warframes grind is far less repetitive and annoying as STO's
-
This is just my experience with the game so far, I wanted to share this with others of the community and basically to show my fondness of the game and compare it to another F2P game I have spent many years playing and just how different they are, its a wall of text with probably atrocious grammar so I apologize in advance :)
I have played a few F2P games over the years, the one I have played the most (past 4 years or so) is Star Trek Online, mainly as I am a fairly big Trekkie and the idea of flying around in some of my favorite Star Trek ships was too enticing an offer to pass up. The game has had a rocky journey and despite still logging on and playing around now and then I don't play nearly as much as I once did mainly due to my dislike of the way they have been handling updates, new releases, and the rather invasive F2P model they use.
STO can't be played like Warframe, you HAVE to spend money if you want the good stuff, fortunately I am able to do so and many consider me a "Whale" due to my I-want-it-so-I-will-buy-it attitude but that's how these games keep going right?
One aspect I have never gone in for however is their "Lock Box" feature, find a box and pay around about $1.50 for a key to open it with a 0.10% chance of getting the prize ship or a load of other useless crap. It's basically gambling and it's one area of the game I have never gone into or liked but it's basically now the back bone of the entire game and the developers now basically base all their new releases on these Lock Box's and more recently the release of new player ships have been tied directly to a Lock Box, a depressing sign of the future of the games releases.
You can buy the content off an in-game player exchange but the prices are pretty steep, by buying keys for real money and selling them in-game you can end up buying the "prize ship" for about $20 (ironically this is cheaper than when they release the buy-with-real-money-only ships which now go for about $30-$50)
the main issue with the game I have recently is that the content you buy in game, these premium ships that set you back a good $50, are pretty lousy when it comes to design and execution, most are copies of other ships with a slight stat change and ones that are designed by their in-house team are usually pretty poor especially with regards to texture work. Ships based on the films or series are usually of a higher quality as they have to be vetted by the respective studios who own the rights to them. Each new release also pretty much trumps the last one in some way.
On top of this the developers are tight lipped, very inactive in the community, and updates are slow and very very thin with some positively atrocious production values.
So anyway why tell you all this about a game you don't give two S#&$s about? Because I wanted a comparison, Warframe is the only other F2P game I have played with the same frequency and interest as STO and the two games are so wildly different not only in their setting and style but the business model and the way the developers treat their community.
Fist thing that struck me in Warframe was the visuals, I started playing just before the massive lighting redesign and even then the game took my breath away, for an MMO it's stunning and after the lighting update it went from good to even better. STO has had the same graphics since I started playing, minus a couple texture resolution increases its stayed the same, everything uses the same 4 or 5 character animations, there is no lip-syncing at all, and the models are pretty weak. And the clipping, my god the clipping. Compared to STO Warframe is triple A, STO is barely an F.
Next thing I notice after playing with some friends who have logged about 200-300 days each in-game is the relative ease at which they got all the content, neither of the two people I mainly played with ever spent a penny on the game and yet had a very good array of content and mods. In STO you can use in-game currency to buy the stuff you would normally use money to acquire but due to a constantly inflating exchange rate and a cap on how much of the in-game currency you can acquire in a single day (8000 units) that's not changed since day one it would take you 250 days of farming for the 8000 units to refine every day, to get 2.000.000 in order to exchange for the 4000 credits to buy a single ship, so long as the exchange rate stays at where it is right now... And it wont.
So yeah pretty intrusive as far as F2P models go considering these ships can only be bought in those two ways (The lesser Lock Box ships can be bought on the player exchange, but their not that good)
Warframe requires grinding yes, any F2P game that doesn't is a bad financial option as they have to have an incentive for people to buy the stuff outright but the way you get the gear in Warframe felt productive, I was working towards something, and despite the dozen or so runs in the same void level I never felt annoyed or that I was being cheated as we always got something at least, and I ended up with a few prime gear and a prime frame :) . In STO you don't get good stuff for running the end-game missions, you get materials you can use to make something that has a 0.1% chance of being slightly good, and then it takes you hundreds of runs and thousands of hours to get enough XP and materials to make something great... Then do that 6 times in order to get just the good weapons for your ship. Or buy them off the exchange for insane amounts of in-game monies and since there is no viable option to acquire the millions of credits you require in-game your only option is to use real money to buy Keys and sell them to make the in-game cash to buy the good gear. Everything is RNG on top of RNG nothing is solid and only the most die hard players make the good content to then sell on the exchange. If you want to get far and be competitive you need that good gear.
I know many people who complain about the grind in Warframe, and sure it can get annoying, RNG always is, but you have no idea how good you have it compared to STO. The other good thing is that in Warframe no single Warframe is the best or worst, sure some are better than others for certain things but so many people use different frames, even the new ones aren't exactly the new hotness and trump the others. STO is all power creep, the newest ship is the best and everyone uses it, and when they upgrade the ship from a meaningless in-game tier they also upgrade the price by $10.
I bought myself a Chroma after doing extensive research into my playstyle (pretty much hit things with a big stick as often as possible) and found him to be the best fit, after spending a fair bit of Plat and game time on mods and gear as I wanted to catch up with the people I was playing with and I love customizing my stuff to look pretty, I ended up with a now OP Chroma build with Arcane's and a stupidly OP War thanks to some good luck with mod drops during the Acolyte missions (Body Count and Blood Rush am I right!?) I love him and it's hilarious running into swarms of high level enemies and getting not but a scratch and increasing in power the more they damage me. I drew the line at buying Cores so I still acquire them on my travels for leveling up my mods and I recently bought the Vauban Prime for defense missions and the recent Mag Prime.
Despite all this and acquiring 10 Arcane Grace's I have spent very little for what I got in comparison to what I would get in STO for the same amount, in fact thanks to just buying the Vauban Prime and Mag Prime I had enough Plat to buy all the Arcane's and mods my heart could desire (though I still want to see how stupid a Chroma with 20 Grace's would be)
I am so very happy with the current state of Warframe, it was hard to get to grips with it at the start but I did have help from friends and the community is very helpful and so are the devs, I was shocked by how active they are, constant updates on news for new content, constant live dev blogs showcasing new content they are working on and want to bring in as well as discussing issues and actively trying to fix these issues, there are bugs and game breaking issues in STO that have never been addressed despite constant community effort to get them to notice or even acknowledge them. There is only so much a single community manager go do if the devs remain so silent and secretive (read lazy)
I work in the games industry and know how difficult an MMO game is to maintain and keep up and running at a good pace and DE do an insane job and still manage to release constant updates and unlike STO they release updates that don't really net them a profit, the huge lighting update, the redesign of the map, the big updates to frames, the texture updates, all of these they didn't have to do, and the developers of STO know they don't have to do these sorts of things in order to make money. So they don't.
All in all Warframe is my go-to game at the moment, I love it and I love the developers and their passion for their game, their not afraid to change things despite disrupting the status quo and upsetting some players, change is good and this game feels new with every release.
Hell I almost compared this game to Destiny haha, now that would have been one hell of a rant :)
Thanks for reading Tenno.
Xbox One X enhanced?
in Players helping Players
Posted
So I purchased the One X recently and have been pretty blown away with some of the visual updates on certain games, Witcher 3 is stunning in 4k her.
I recall DE mentioning working on HDR support when the S dropped and Warframe was listed as one of the games to receive enhancements on the One X, the PS Pro got a beefy update a while back but as far as the One X is concerned it's gone quiet, nothing has been mentioned at all.
Is there any info at all regarding this? You'd think they could just port over the PS Pro settings but ramp them up even more but I guess it's seldom that simple 😁
