Ditto on this one. (And on PC)
You can avoid it if you completely swap to melee, but the point is to quickly swap or stay on your main weapon, because either you swap between gun and melee a lot or you want to benefit from the auto-parry.
As a primarily melee user, this is screwing up my chaotic gameplay a lot as it prevent movement when it happens and also forces me to neglect the auto-parry feature if I complete swap to melee. :( Hopefully helpful note for Devs: (Dunno if they read these)
It seems this triggers if you hold the aim button at any point to do the alternative melee combos. So even if you have let go of the aim button before the melee attack animation finished or even follow up with a melee combo that does not use the right-click (or controller related button) it still locks you in aim afterwards.
Being locked randomly into aim right after just meleeing (even stopping for the sake of turning to another enemy in melee range) is a death sentence to the character in higher level content. You slow down and also are zoomed in and lose any sort of orientation, along with the confusion of how to get out this sudden aim lock.
